In the evening I was ready to go to the other island. A place where I can feel safe and peaceful. If a few years ago I went there with a wound, now I have to pack the debris of a broken heart due to the departure of Kak Risqi to Rahmatullah.
I've been neat in long black clothes. A white hat completes my current appearance. I immediately set foot out of the room, with my left hand dragging my suitcase with my personal belongings.
There is not the slightest doubt in my heart to leave this place of my birth. For me this place is already like a hell of a world that is so torturous. Perhaps, people will think of me as an ungodly child, but I'm really fed up with all the complexities my own parents created.
I saw you eating dinner at the dinner table. I deliberately went through it without intending to greet the white-haired man. However, it seems like I will be wasting a lot of time here when Mom suddenly calls me from the kitchen.
"Tasya, where are you going?" mother asked as she walked on her way to me.
I had to stop step by step for the woman who gave birth and raised me. Mom held my left hand holding the suitcase.
"I'm leaving again, Mom."
"Depart to Jambi?" ask her with a surprised face.
I replied with a small nod. At first I saw Mom holding her chest.
"What are you going to do there again?" ask Mom to demand.
"Work, ma'am," I answered briefly.
"Yes, you promised Mom that you wouldn't leave again!" Mom says with teary eyes.
"Sorry," I said, lowering a little face. I really can't bear to see my mother's sad face.
As bad as my childhood was, I couldn't possibly hate the woman who once risked her life to bring me into the world, right? Although I was disappointed in Mom, I still loved her very much.
Mom took the suitcase out of my hand, then threw it away. I stared alternately at Mom and my suitcase which had hit the wall before finally falling to the floor.
"Don't go!" mom snapped with a loud voice.
"Sorry, Mom. But, Tasya really has to go," I said with tightness in the chest.
"Mom will never let you go, Tasya! It's enough, I don't want to lose another child" said Mother with a loud trembling voice.
I know how Mom feels right now. This old lady before me must be afraid that I would be like my other brothers. They leave on the grounds that they will work. However, in the end they actually married a distant person who made them unable to always go home to the land of birth.
"Sorry, Mom." That's all I can say. Although tightness in the heart increasingly dominates, but my determination is round.
As I was trying to break away from Mom's tight grip, this old woman before me quickly re-blocked my wrist very firmly. I even grimaced as the grip of her hand made my wrist feel pain.
"If you go, I will pray that the ship you are riding on sinks in the middle of the sea." A shocking sentence slid just like that from the lips of the woman I loved so much.
"Mom" I said softly, my head shaking a few times. Really, I didn't expect Mom to utter such a curse.
"Just Mom won't let you go, Shay. If you're reckless, I won't consider you Mother's son anymore" Mother said, turning her face away, then releasing her hand and leaving me who could only stay in place.
