The Return of the Female Knight

The Return of the Female Knight
CHAPTER 11

"Welcome, my lord."

All the servants were standing in line with the senior butler, Northman, as the leader. They all bowed respectfully as Alphord walked inside his house. In reality, Alphord did not particularly like this kind of welcome, but Elena also prepared this for her father in his previous life. After a long hiatus, some of the new hires realized her face, and Elena took this as a way to give such a grand welcome for the sake of her father's honor.

And it's the same today. At the end of the long queue, Elena, Mirabelle and Derek stood waiting for him. Elena's cheeks flushed in joy at the thought of seeing her father for the first time in a long time.

"It's weird. No matter how often you come home, I feel like I haven't seen him in years. ”

Elena smiled at Mirabelle's ingenious words. From Elena's point of view, her sister wasn't entirely wrong. When Elena started to see the shadow of her approaching father, she rushed to tidy up her clothes.

"Mirabelle, do I look okay?"

“Yes, you look beautiful. How many times have you asked me today? "

"Oh, really?"

Mirabelle tilted her head to her sister's nervous attitude. When Mirabelle heard that Elena had fallen ill during her trip, she tried to rest all day, but Elena finally stood up and said, "I can't lie down anymore with Father coming."

Despite Elena's natural beauty, however, she wasn't too keen on taking care of herself. This was the first time for him to notice her appearance, which always embarrassed him. If the opportunity were to meet another man, then Mirabelle would think Elena had fallen in love with someone …

Mirabelle could never have imagined that the man she saw was their father, whom they hadn't seen in weeks. Mirabelle looked at Elena with a curious look, but could not discern her thoughts.

The voices of Alphord's foosteps became closer when he finally appeared. Despite being middle-aged, his father still maintained his handsome features. He stood tall and had dark green eyes like Mirabelle. Thanks to his long career as a knight he had a strong physique, but at that moment looked like a man with his coat instead of his armor. He had the same stoic expression as Derek, but his stubborn jaw bore a strange resemblance to Elena.

Elena became overwhelmed with emotion as she looked at her father. The last image he remembered was his cold body hanging on the wall with his brother. On the day Blaise Castle was attacked, his father was still not in the castle, so he was not sure how exactly he ended up there. He hides where Derek tells him to, and is told there will be a letter from his father but he never receives it. Finally, after finding the bodies of the family members on the wall, Elena had to flee far away. He could not stay in Ruford Empire. He was curious about the contents of that last letter, but now he would never know.

'Well, it doesn't matter now what. They are all alive and with me now. '

He quietly swallowed a happy smile looking upwards with clear eyes at Mirabelle and Derek standing next to her. It'll be done. He won't be greedy.

At Alphord's appearance, Derek bowed short and Mirabelle lifted her skirt to look like an adult. Elena spoke with a affectionate tone in her voice.

"Welcome home, Dad."
