The Prince of Travelers

The Prince of Travelers
Chapter 054: The Face of the Girl

Li An looked at the dark ceiling of her room. He wanted to close his eyes. However, every time his eyes closed, the girl's face appeared on his head.

The girl had a different charm than most other girls. I don't know what it is, but Li An can't seem to forget it. His heart also likes to pound every time he remembers it.

"Hais ...," Li An stood up and squeezed his head. He lowered his feet from the argument, then walked to the large window in his room. With a single movement, both hands opened the window so that the moonlight entered softly dim.

"We met again after such a long time," murmured Li An quietly. His eyes looked at the sky with sadness. There was a faint miss on his face.

It was different from her longing for Concubine Ai, her niece. It was a longing that was suffused with turmoil in his deepest heart. It's a lie that Li An said he didn't know that feeling. For a long time, he knew it was love. However, he always harbored it and never told it to others.

"What am I supposed to do?" li An said in his confusion. He knew that his love grew bigger every time he met the girl again. However, he did not know what to do with that feeling.

"It's too soon for me to get married" Li An's pretext rejected the idea that sometimes fluttered in his mind. If only he wanted to be honest with himself, he would have realized that it was just an excuse. There was no harm in him visiting the girl's guardian and asking for her. All problems will be solved as soon as he says his agreement.

After all, Li An had a close affinity with the girl's family. They couldn't have refused his proposal. Let alone them, even the high nobles would happily marry her daughter if the prince asked her.

"I'm not ready yet" Li An again quibbled. Again, that's just an excuse, but he already has everything. Honor, wealth, and the famous union was great. However, he felt that he was still not "Capable" in his heart. If Consort Ai was still by his side at this moment, what would the mother tell him?

"Can I ask Shu's mother?" li An asked himself. A moment later, he shook his head quickly. I don't know why, I don't think that's a good idea.

The night wind is getting stronger. Long Li An pensively alone, he was finally able to sleep in two-thirds of the night. As soon as the sun rose, he woke up in confusion.

Li An looked to the side. The window in his room had been wide open since last night. No, the Eighth Prince was sure that he had closed it before going to bed last night. That means someone opened it this morning.

At the table next to his bed, the absorption tray was prepared complete with his drink. There is soup, seafood, and also rice there. This was Li An's favorite food package every time he visited Guangzhou.

Geck! Geck! Geck!

Door knocked. A second later, a man's voice sounded from outside, "Prince, are you awake?"

"Already," Li An replied briefly. He just finished his breakfast. He got out of the chair in his room and opened the door.

"Kakak~!" Li Rouwei ran to hug Li An as soon as the door opened. His strength was so powerful that it pushed the Eighth Prince back a step.

"Sister," call Li Rouwei again. The girl looked up, looking at her brother's face that was still a mess. He asked cheerfully, "Sister Huanran will not return to the capital again, right? He's married, right?"

"I–iya," Li An became curious about his sister's behavior. Li Rouwei looked extremely happy when she heard his reply. The girl asked to confirm her conjecture, "Meaning, Big Brother Huanran won't stay in Aixin Pavilion anymore?"

"Hm~" Li Rouwei shook his head with a gentle smile on his lips, "It's nothing. I'm just happy today."

"Oh, I see, yes," Li An replied with the same smile. He could already understand the Ninth Princess's intentions just by looking at her smile. A second later, he turned his gaze to a man who had knocked on his door.

"What's up, Brother Jili?" li An asked Yun Jili, the Silver Fox Scholar. The long white-haired scholar also jutted down, bowing his body as a sign of respect. After Li An asked him to get up, then he straightened up.

"The princess has already given her decision," Yun Jili said reporting the news she received, "Mimi will come with me to continue serving you."

"What about, my brother?" ask Li An again.

"Said the princess, you don't need to worry. Mr. Ali has no shortage of people to be his lady-in-waiting" Yun Jili continued. He also handed over the letter that Li Huanran sent through Mimi to Li An. The Eighth Prince immediately accepted it and decided to read the letter later.

"I want to have a chat with you after this," Li An said later, "Can you wait for me on the porch for a bit?"

"Sure, Prince," Yun Jili directly carried out the order.

Without lingering, Li An hurriedly changed his clothes. He went to the terrace with Li Rouwei who had been waiting for him. As soon as he sat down on the chair, he immediately asked Yun Jili, "Sister, how does marriage and household feel?"

"What?!" it was not Yun Jili's reply that sounded, instead Li Rouwei's shrill voice replied, "Aren't you getting married? Seriously brother? Did Brother Huanran just get married yesterday?"

"Bu–it's not so, Rou'er," Li An replied a little flutter, "I'm not getting married. Just curious."

Li Rouwei did not believe it just like that. There was a cloud of annoyance appearing on his face. He even threw his face away while clucking annoyed after that.

Li An could only sigh looking at his sister's behavior. He didn't want to think about why. His hand caressed Li Rouwei's head, intending to give her some understanding, "I'm serious, Rou'er. I still have no intention of getting married anytime soon."

"So," Li An now turned to Yun Jili, "Can Brother Jili explain it?"

"Wedding is something beautiful, Prince," Yun Jili immediately replied. He paid no heed to Li Rouwei who was looking at him sharply and still explained. At the end of his explanation, the scholar gave Li An a boost, "Remember well, Prince. If you are already interested in a girl, you better immediately ask her before someone else asks her first. Make sure you really fit in with the girl. Try to know him in a good way. It's better to take care of you and him."

"Hm," Li An slow-moving mangosteen. That 'girl' face appeared in his mind for a moment. Fortunately, his cheeks did not turn red. His mind was focusing on the explanation Yun Jili had just described.

Beside him, Li Rouwei looked sour-faced. In fact, he still wears a smile that is as sweet as the moon a moment ago. Yun Jili was full of hostility. Unfortunately, the one being stared at was completely unaffected by those deadly eyes. Yun Jili even smiled contentedly telling the beautiful stories of her petite household life with Mimi.
