The Prince of Travelers

The Prince of Travelers
Chapter 053: Li Huanran's Wedding

“Welcome, Your Highness the Prince," greeted a middle-aged man with a thick beard, "It is an honor to meet you on this happy day."

"So do I, Mr. Zaid," replied Li An formally, "It is nice to meet with the Ambassador of the Caliphate.”

“I really thank you,” middle-aged man named Zaid was commenting on a knotty smile, “God this marriage will definitely be a bridge to a better relationship between the two countries.”

“Hopefully so,” Li An smiled faintly hearing it. As a person who was more understanding regarding the internal condition of his empire, he could only hope. Although a little pessimistic, he wants his country to go in the best direction.

This is the wedding day of the Third Princess and the Young Ambassador of the Caliphate. Prince Zhizhe as the uncle of the princess who became his guardian. Emperor Yung Wei had already passed it on to his brother. He did not come to Guangzhou because of the many urgent matters.

Even so, he still sent an envoy to give his daughter a wedding gift. Concubine Shu takes care of all those gifts. As the birth mother of the Third Princess, of course, she must take off her only daughter.

Up ahead, Ali has finished reading the contract according to his teachings. He reads it smoothly without repetition of the item just once. Witnesses said, "Well!"

Li Huanran came shortly after. She wears neat and closed clothes, very different from the appearance of the other princesses when married. Li Xiulan accompanied beside her right, Li Roulan beside her left, while Li Rouwei walked in front of her proudly. The motorcade followed behind him.

The show went on without feeling after that. The two brides must be very exhausted today. They went straight into his room after Isya's prayers were performed.

"Are you not sad?" asked a young man who was sitting near Li An. He did not say much during this magnificent walimah event. However, his views scrutinized the unusual wedding procession closely.

"What's sad?" Li An returned the question, "Lang, I'm just relieved that my brother finally got a good partner."

"Hm, really?" the young man called Lang frowned. Her name was Sue Lang, a young scholar from the Sue Family who was slightly older than Li An. He was an educational friend of Prince Kedalapan during the Small Archive Pagoda. Last month, he completed his undergraduate exams.

"Hm," Li An nodded slowly. Staring at the hall walimah which is still crowded even though the new couple has left. This event is actually not an ordinary wedding, but also a place of consolidation of several powers, both political and trade. It's natural that there are still many.

"But you look sad," Sue Lang spread her fan, "You love Third Princess so much, right?"

"That, right?" Sue Lang smiled faintly behind her fan, "You're really sad. Never mind, what if you get married soon too? I have a beautiful sister who always whines to meet you. Are you interested in getting to know him?"

"Don't make it up" Li An ignored the remark, "Lagian, I have no intention of getting married at all."

"Heh, even though you are old enough," Sue Lang tried to persuade. It would be great if his family had kinship with the imperial family. Although the influence of the Eighth Prince was not as great as the other princes, he was still a calculated figure. "Try to meet him once. I'm sure that you guys will be very compatible."

"Let's know, unfortunately I don't have time for that," Li An recalled the stack of tasks still mounting in his office. Were it not for the affairs of the Third Princess, she would not have left those piled up jobs.

"Oh, I see," Sue Lang did not force any further, "But, when you've been thinking about getting married, don't forget my sister, yes."

"I never promised," Li An replied flatly. He stood up to leave his place, as did Sue Lang. The night is getting late. It's time to rest now.

Li An walked with Wang Hongli to the pavilion where he was staying. The streets were quiet, but the red lanterns were still burning dimly in front of the surrounding houses. So, the Eighth Prince and his guards did not need lanterns to accompany the journey.

The full moon in space is also bright. The sky was clear without the slightest cloud covering it. The stars are scattered, accompanying the moon that adorns the night sky beautifully.

As soon as he entered the pavilion gate, Li An saw a group of girls who were still busy doing something. They were veiled Arab girls and some imperial noble girls. Their relationship looks very familiar even though it may be the first time they meet. That's because most of the Arab girls here speak local.

"Hm?" Li An was stunned for a moment as her eyes looked at one of the girls. The girl was very auspicious despite being covered in thick cloth wrapped her head neatly. A second later, the two of them turned their faces away spontaneously. I don't know about the girl, but Li An's heart rippled lightly just now.

"What's up, Prince?" w.a.n.g Hongli asked curiously as the Eighth Prince suddenly stopped.

"It's nothing. Let's go back soon," Li An shook his head, then walked back quickly. He did not want Wang Hongli to see the red hue that might be coloring his face now. His heart was even beating fast now. He wanted to go back to the room immediately so that his heart would calm down.
