The Prince of Travelers

The Prince of Travelers
Chapter 039: The Fire

The sounds of fighting were heard all over the palace. The clink of the sword, the roar of pain, the cry of fear, were all united there. The luxurious palace was an unimaginable battlefield.

Shust! Shust!

The shadow of the enemy continued to fly on the roofs of the palace. The royal guard has difficulty reaching them. Arrows were launched. However, the enemy is too agile that the arrows are wasted, even something about his own friends.

"Chen'er, take care of Rou'er and Princess Seonghwa! Do not let the enemy approach them" Li An said in a soft voice. He shot the arrow again. Every arrow he shot was always right on target. The enemy shuddered every time he saw his arrow that was milling wildly.

Well, although Li An was not as strong as Li Xiang in martial arts nor sword arts, he was better than the Seventh Prince in archery skills. Both of them were equally clever, but Li An was even more powerful a long time ago. If he had been interested in hunting events held by the empire, he would have won easily and gained more popularity than he is today.

"Incar was that boy!" exclaim one of the enemy vanguard forces. He pointed at Li An. His comrades glided to the Eighth Prince instantly. Their sharp spies of weapons glinted in horror at their target.

"Don't think you can get away from me!" yang Hongli. He's got two enemies at once. His twin swords instantly slashed at the two of them mercilessly. "Cenangkas Squad! Finish them all!"

"Hhh ...!" all the warriors in the Cenangkas Army that Wang Hongli led exclaimed. Their cries were so loud that it made the enemy shudder for a moment. There was a powerful aura emanating from them.

"Curtain!" one of the enemies chuckled in annoyance and threw his knife off the roof. The blade shot rapidly in the darkness until it pierced one of Wang Hongli's troops.

"Among ...!" shouted the swordsman who fell down at that moment. The closest friend called out. He stared intently at his enemy and also flung his dagger there.

"Xixaixi! You idiot!" the dagger-thrower sneered, "You think you can hit me with a foul throw like that?"

Jem!

Suddenly, an arrow pierced his head from the side. He fell off the roof and died in an instant. His eyes grew stiff as if unable to accept his sudden death.

"Take the wounded to safety! Stay alert! We don't know the number of remaining enemies yet" Li An exclaimed. He glanced at his sisters in the back. Li Rouwei and Seonghwa looked hard shutting their eyes as they gripped onto Li Chen's robe. They refrain from shouting hysterically. It seemed, Li Chen could take good care of them.

Plumes of smoke appear to soar into the sky. One corner of the fire palace. The flames started to creep up the raging phoenix stealth tub. It was as high as a mountain rising into the sky.

"We must evacuate," Li An exclaimed at Wang Hongli, "The fire will be here soon!"

"I will hold them back, Prince," replied Wang Hongli who was fighting one-on-one with an extremely agile and troublesome enemy. "Prince please leave here. Me and the remaining troops will soon follow."

"Follow us as soon as possible! Don't get you killed, Brother Hong," Li An immediately ordered the surrounding troops to escort the princesses out. They leave immediately before the competition gets harder.

Before perfectly exiting the Guest of Honor Complex, Li An took the time to turn his head towards Wang Hongli. He also drew an arrow in his hand. His sharp eyes were eyeing the shadows that were moving rapidly here and there around his protector like a brash fly. He also released it.

Shust!

On the other side of the palace, Yong Seong was sitting trembling alone. He was hidden by his servants in a fairly large closet. From inside the closet, he saw firsthand how his manger was slaughtered by a mysterious person.

His body was also horrified. However, he could still refrain from shouting so as not to be caught by the mysterious assailant. Both of his hands were shutting his mouth. Cold sweat ran down his forehead. Tears of fear poured down her cheeks. His heart was shaken by the roaring cries outside.

"Curtain! Damnit damnit! That boy is not here. This was just an ordinary servant's room," the assailant grumbled, "I'm sure it's here ... or next door?"

The mysterious person left without checking the details of the simple designed room. As he left, Yong Seong opened his closet door slowly with tiny, trembling fingers.

Once he found his room empty, he ran to the door. The fire light coming from outside made it able to head to the door as quickly as possible. He was very surprised when he saw the huge fire.

"Youngwa! Mother!" his shout saw the burning building was the Queen's Palace as well as where the princesses lived. He wants to run there. However, someone suddenly pulled his hand hard.

"Prince Seong, please don't go there, please" the person said. Yong Seong turned his head and found a pale-skinned man. Her hair was long. It was obvious that he also hurriedly woke up as soon as the beacon sounded.

"Eunuch Ji!" Song Yeong wanted to brush aside Ji's arm, but his strength was too weak compared to the eunuch. He stopped fighting and looked at Ji sharply. There was a blaze of anger in his eyes. "Where is the queen?"

"The queen and the princesses have been evacuated. Prince Seong did not need to worry," Ji replied without the slightest change to the look on his face. "Let the Prince also go to the right safe. It's very dangerous here."

"What about Seonghwa?" yong Seong asked worriedly. He must know the condition of his younger brother before he leaves. Seonghwa's vague existence sometimes made him forgotten by those around him.

"...," Ji was silent. He did not lie to the prince. His premonition said that it would be fatal if he lied to Yong seong now.

"Where's Seonghwa?" yong Seong asked again, this time with a harsher intonation. Ji was stunned for a moment because of that scream. He sighed and replied honestly, "Sorry, Prince. We can't find Princess Seonghwa inside."

"Kenap–?" before Yong Seong said a word, Ji suddenly pulled him back. He hugged the prince and found a dagger stuck in the ground not far from them.

Yong Seong was silenced to see the dagger. His fingers gripped Ji's robe unconsciously. The fear again covered him.

"I'm sorry, Prince," Ji held Yong Seong back in a great tremble, "We need to get out of here right now."

Yong Seong's sobs rang out in Ji's ears. The little prince must be in great shock right now. His matan is reddening. He cursed this very weak self. There is deep regret and regret there.
