Chapter 23 - The Grief

All the santri and santriwati came out of his room. Their steps were in unison towards the mosque, no matter what so the echoing call led them to go there.

The vast mosque was immediately full and crowded because of the santri. They all sat in their own places. 

Santri men occupy the front while santri women are behind who have been limited with a barrier shaf so that women and men do not meet each other. 

Because there was no Kiyai, Ustadz Soleh who led. Even standing in front of all the santri, not a few of them asked, what is it? Andwhy? Because today is the holiday of the santri, the Friday prayer time is still long, but it has been called to the mosque. 

"Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh." 

"Walaikumsalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh," replied all santri. 

"Today I get the sad news that, our brother, our friend all Eve Aqila Princess just left her father. His father had just died a few minutes ago" explained Soleh.

They all say "Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun" 

They all felt devastated and sad, especially Aisyah, Asiyah, and Minah. Not willing to take off his embrace. 

"Let's pray he leaves quietly. And died with husnul khotimah." 

"Aamiin's." 

They all began to teach together, praying for the late father of their friend.

Eve had just arrived at her house. Not at all told about the death of the father, because indeed his father died suddenly from a heart attack. 

At first Marwan was healthy. Joseph also had time to teach, as well as Marwah the wife who was busy cooking for the return of her husband and son. 

In fact, they were planning to visit Eve this afternoon. 

Suddenly the company suddenly broke. Company funds lost for latest project. Even suffered a huge loss because a client of theirs demanded because one of the company's management had deceived the person.

Taking project money but not running the project properly. So Marwan shock and heart attack that caused fatal to death. 

News of grief that shocked the family, Marwan was immediately taken to the nearest hospital in a state of life. Yusuf and Marwah are seen frantically entering the ICU room because Marwan has been referred to that room.

They were sad, seeing Marwan's weak state, helpless even all medical devices stuck in his body. Marwah could only cry for her husband and Joseph should be able to calm her mother. 

Yusuf, call the cottage. Tell Marwan the current situation and ask that there is a side of them who brought Eve home, because she could not pick up her sister. 

Hearing the sad news, Kiyai and Ummi immediately call Eve, planning to visit Marwan, while delivering Eve. 

But God wants something else. Joseph contacted them back with shocking news. Hard to believe, but to be sincere. 

"Anything answered the phone first." 

"Who's By from?" 

"Joseph." 

Kiyai Abdullah answered the phone patiently and listened, and his lips said, "Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun." He put the phone away from his ear.

"What's up By?" 

Adam and Ummi panicked. But not with Kiyai who looks calm. 

"Sir Marwan has gone home." 

"Innalillahi wainnailahi rojiun." 

They were all sad, as was Adam who did not believe. 

"What about Eve?" Ummi was worried.

"Don't tell me first, let him see for himself. Adam you get ready now we'll go Takjiyah, and you take the car." 

"Yes By." 

Before leaving, Kiyai told him 

another Ustadz-ustadz, asked them to pray together. While Kiyai, Ummi, Adam and Eve they went to Marwan's residence.

Eve immediately got out of her car running into her house through the crowd of people who came in and out of her house. 

"Sister Joseph! Papa! Mama!" the cry of Eve was so echoing, that Joseph turned to the source of the voice. 

Joseph stood up and approached Eve. The mother looked weak in her brother's arms. 

"Who died?" shiver Eve with a trembling voice.

Instead of answering, Joseph embraced Eve. Instantly his back shook, his cries broke.

"Reply! Who died?" Eve's back began to tremble, her tears began to drip. 

"Prophe Eve, papa Eve .. papa." 

For a second Eve's body sagged, sitting weakly on the floor. Eve was stunned, with an empty look. It is like feeling deep regret.

Instantly remembering the shadow of the past with his father. How he treated the father, defiant, yelling, even lying to his father. 

As soon as his lips trembled, a cry broke. 

"FATHER!" his screams panicked everyone.

Joseph immediately embraced Eve who was getting mad. Hysterical, hitting his chest. 

Ummi Khodijah who saw it immediately approached trying to calm Eve down, but Eve instead scolded her, pushing her body. 

"Why didn't Ummi tell me that papa died! Why?" 

"Let's be calm, sincere son, sincere." 

Kiyai and Adam immediately approached, Adam immediately pulled his mother's body so as not to be hit again by Eve's blow. 

Adam felt sorry to see Eve's situation like this. Because the news of Mr. Marwan's death really makes him surprised, especially Eve as his daughter must feel hit. 

"Yusuf, you better take Eve to the room" Kiyai suggested. 

Joseph nodded and wanted to take Eve. However, Eve suddenly fainted, her body falling right into Adam's lap. 

Adam started to get awkward and confused. Wanting to lift Eve's body but fearing sin, because men who are not mahrom are forbidden to touch women, even though their skin does not touch because it is blocked by the clothes that cover it. 

However, Adam could not turn his gaze away from the face of Eve who was so beautiful and smooth. As a normal man Adam could feel a trembling heart. 

"Adam?" call Kiyai, for a second her gaze can look away.

"Yes Aby?" 

"Help Joseph to bring Eve into his room."

"But Aby?"

"It's okay. You did it for a reason" Kiyai said.

Should not touch the skin of women who are not mahram without (there is a reason) emergency, such as treatment and others. “Syarah shahih Muslim” 

Because of emergencies men can touch women, or just hold and hug with reason. 

Just as Eve had fainted, and Joseph had to greet the takjiyah guests, unable to leave the mother alone. 

With a compulsion and doubt Adam also carried Eve's body, taking her up into his room which was accompanied by Umm Khodijah. 

Adam's heart suddenly thumped, as well as his hands and feet. Then what's the heart? It was like a pump that was racing very fast. 

The heavy breath Adam breathed. For this was the first time for Adam to hold a woman.

"Adam just drop it down here" Ummi said pointing to a king-size bed filled with dolls. As well as beautiful rooms filled with luxurious displays with pink interiors.

Adam was calm when he lowered Eve into his bed.

"Adam you can come down. Let Ummi be with Eve." 

"Yes Ummi." 

Adam also walked away. The breath he did not stop, all the way the hand continued to touch the chest of his field no matter what Adam was feeling.

"Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah." That is always what Adam said.
