After leaving the cafe, Alvin took Alika to a more open place and rented a mat for their seat. Alvin immediately threw his body on the mat. His face looked extremely satisfied as it managed to express its apology in the presence of many people.
A moment of silence enveloped them. No one dared to start a conversation. Not for Alika who is trying to regulate her emotions, and not also Alvin who still feels confused to give an explanation to Alika. The two teenagers just fell silent and struggled with their thoughts.
“Alika,” voice Alvin break silence. “Have you ever noticed the things on top of that?”
Alika raised her head upwards. The first thing he saw was the moon. That night the moon was shining so bright, the stars were also scattering. Looks very beautiful and awesome. The word of admiration made Alika think about Alvin who was next to her.
Guys his age how could make such a surprise. To apologize in public like that takes great courage. If he didn't really mean it, how could he have done it. Maybe Alvin…
Alika threw away her thoughts that had crossed for a moment. It was strange Alika had thought that the guy who was none other than her cousin put a taste in her.
“What's up there?” sahut Alika while looking at Alvin who lay down beside him.
The woman watched the man as he watched the stars. Alika silently smiled thinking about that. Alika realized that Alvin was more handsome than he had seen.
The guy suddenly turned his face towards Alika. “Isn't it all beautiful, Al?”
“Yes. Hugely. I've never seen anything like it in Jakarta. Probably because of too much pollution, so stars never look this much there.”
Alika and Alvin lie facing space. “I know about constellations.”
“Serious??” Alika asked in disbelief
“Originally you know, Al, at school that my space affairs are my master. Just ask Mama if you don't believe,”
“Brogging.. Try to explain to your senior this about the constellations,”.
Alvin introduced Alika to many constellations. He also tells the history of the names of the constellations, such as Hercules, Andromeda, Orion. Alika was amazed to listen to Alvin speak, this one guy is indeed full of surprises. Alika glanced at him occasionally.
Alika is like being lulled by the attitudes of Alvin who never clear his point. He feels comfortable with Alvin as he has known the guy for a long time, but on the other hand Alika also feels that Alvin is only his cousin and should not be more than that.
“You didn't hear me, Al??” reprimand Alvin, after somehow for some time he caught wet Alika was daydreaming and did not mengubris all his talk.
Alika jerked, she immediately answered Alvin's question, “Iya. You talk about the stars, right?”
“Which star?”
“What you just said,”
“I don't talk stars. I just need you to come home when. It's almost 12.” hours Alvin
“Masa??? But why is it still rame?”
“This place is never quiet, Al. You come here at 3 am still a lot of hanging out here,”
Alika pondered for a moment before she finally decided to stay at the place for a while longer.
“Thank’s yes, Vin” said Alika suddenly.
“For what?”
“Make all this,” Alika widens both hands, trying to describe that she wants to hug the whole space.
“I've read polaris books. The stars we are looking at right now may be dead. And this twinkling light is just the rest of that dead starlight. The light is not gone. I assume the stars want to make the creatures of the earth feel good when they see their light. I can learn from those stars.”
Alvin didn't say anything. The guy looked at Alika deeply. The gaze that would make Alika feel pierced if Alika had just seen those eyes. Alvin wanted so much to say something that he now felt. Something that he had kept for too long in the darkness of his heart. It's a long way there. Something he had once felt but had buried deep. And now this girl lying next to him makes that feeling back drawn to the outside.
