The Love of Alika

The Love of Alika
Prologues

The clock is twelve o'clock in five minutes. The atmosphere of the night was a little cloudy but the breeze blew coolly caressing two young people who were enjoying the night of the turn of the year. The two hugged tightly on a speeding motorcycle among the hustle and bustle of Jakarta.

Sometimes they joke regardless of the dangers that always lurk in the streets. It was clear that the hearts of the two men were being overwhelmed with happiness that night. Not a single moment flashed through their minds, if all the laughter would be the last time.

In front of a modern minimalist accent house, the driver stopped his motorcycle. The girl who was piggybacking on the back seat rushed down.

“Still yes, Vid, already nganterin me home.” A smile on Alika's face.

Although the moonlight was not as bright as usual, but the girl was sure that David –cowok whom she loved so much– could see the smile clearly.

“Iya, Darling. Buruan go in there, surely mom is the same papa has been waiting from earlier,” said David while rubbing his lover's head.

For a moment they looked at each other. Soft and deep. I don't know why tonight Alika feels that he will be left by David for a long time. Suddenly there was a sense of kangen as well as sadness that filled his heart. But Alika hurriedly expelled that vague feeling.

“You okay, Al?”

Alika shook her head, but it was certain that the look in her eyes this time said something else. There was sadness coming from him. “I’m fine,”

“Yes, I'll go home first. You are well yes. I love you, Honey,”

Before turning on the motor, David still had time to kiss Alika's forehead gently. Then he started to move away with a big smile and waved at Alika.

David's heart that night was filled with immense happiness. Because that night was exactly one year after he officially dated his girlfriend. While continuing to stall a smile, he re-imagined the good times he had missed with Alika.

But unfortunately all that has messed up his concentration and vigilance on the streets. And without David realizing there was a car that drove quite fast in front of him.

He could not feel the car moving closer. Even the car increased its speed because the driver felt that nothing would happen with the condition of the road is very quiet. But all these estimates do not match the reality. From the opposite direction there was a motorcycle that suddenly crossed without looking left-right.

The sound of the brakes squeaking sounded quite loud. But it is not the sound that attracts attention, but the loudness of the sound of the car's body hitting the motorcycle. Only a split second of the incident took place.

And a girl who from earlier watched the departure of the motorcycle was only able to jerk. He froze and stared at the incident with wide eyes and mouth open.

The body bounced away without even getting a word out. Then hit the asphalt very hard. Blood flowed all over his body.

“DAVID!!” The girl screamed as she ran towards the victim of the accident.

As soon as she arrived in front of that helpless body, Alika instantly fell down and hugged her tightly. But no matter how strong his embrace, it would not change the fact that David had left him.

Alika looked at the guy's face with hurt feelings as well as disbelief. A pair of eyes that a few minutes ago looked at him gently and lovingly, were now tightly closed and would no longer be possible to open.
