V1 #CH 23 — Spirit Divine Beast.

Heilong immediately looked towards the source of the voice that turned out to be from a painting.

A moment later, he was made to be extremely shocked when he saw the painting suddenly emit an extremely dazzling light.

And, a giant tortoise with a body wrapped around a snake, immediately came out from inside the painting.

"Who are you? Are you a Genbu Divine Beast? One of the Divine Beasts in the legend," Heilong asked in surprise.

"Yes and No," replied this Beast in an authoritative voice and containing a riddle.

"What does it mean to say yes and no?"

Heilong became confused by the Divine Beast's answer that was in front of him because this answer only made a new question in his mind about the true identity of the Beast before him at the moment.

"Yes because I am indeed the Divine Beast Genbu. And not because I am not the original body of the Genbu Divine Beast. Actually I am just a spirit fragment that Divine Beast Genbu intentionally left behind to guard this Planet. My real body is in the Upper World or commonly referred to as the God Realm."

Hearing the reply from the Genbu Divine Spirit Beast, Heilong frowned and a serious conversation began to take place.

"What exactly is the purpose of the Genbu Divine Beast leaving its spirit shards on this Planet?"

"Testing the most suitable humans or Beasts to receive our inheritance of strength," replied the Genbu Divine Spirit Beast coldly.

" Testing?!" heilong said surprised, he then continued asking to find out the meaning of the word test it. "What does it mean to test? Didn't you just say that the Genbu Divine Beast deliberately left behind a shard of its Spirit to protect this Planet."

The Genbu Divine Beast Spirit began to explain to Heilong because he saw Heilong's mind filled with doubt about every answer he gave.

"How can it be like that? If they are not ready to live in the Upper World then they can be killed immediately when they get there" Heilong said.

Genbu looked at Heilong sharply. "First, when the rulers of the Gods created the Planet in this Middle World, He had created a special protective field as a barrier. That protective field would instantly throw the cultivators who had reached the cultivation of Lapis God to exit this Middle World region regardless of the cultivator being ready or not.”

"The ruler of the gods?! Who is that god? I've never read a book about this," Heilong asked back.

"He is the Great Creator. He is the supreme being in this universe and is not a part of a God or a Devil because he is the one who created the universe and all its contents" replied the Divine Spirit Beast.

"Then is the purpose of this exam as our training before we go towards the god realm?"

The curious Heilong continued to ask questions of the Genbu Divine Spirit Beast endlessly until he got the answers he wanted.

"Really! However, not only that because we also want to find a candidate to exterminate the Demon race that is on this Planet," replied the Genbu Divine Beast Spirit.

"Devil?!" heilong's body trembled in shock.

"Yes! The Devil Nation intends to rule all the Planets in this Middle World. They were all trying to seduce extremely strong cultivators so that they would be invited to go to the Underworld by passing down their demonic martial arts.

The Divine Beast Genbu paused for a moment while looking at Heilong's expression which turned out to look so enthusiastic to hear the story. He then continued to tell stories.

“I wanted to expel the Devil Nation from this Planet. However, that Demon Nation turned out to be so powerful that I had to ask the other Divine Beasts for help to come to this Planet. However, we Divine Beasts cannot interfere too much with the affairs of Middle-earth because we are bound by a rule that forbids us from helping humans directly. Therefore, all of us can only send fragments of our spirits to this Planet to test and give our martial arts heritage to fight against those Devil Nations. In the end you humans will have to work hard on your own to increase your own power to defeat the Devil Nation."
