Meanwhile, Prince August and the soldiers of the Western Empire were traveling towards the defensive fortress at the end of the Empire's territory, in half a day it was likely that they would arrive at their destination. However, along the way Prince August felt that there would be bad things welcoming him once he reached the fortress.

“This hunch, for some reason I was really afraid this hunch would actually happen once it reached the fortress.” muttered Prince August while riding a horse at high speed.

Not too long to rest when the horse on which he rode was exhausted, the Prince continued to ride the horse with the Generals and all the soldiers who followed him. Two days of continuing to race the horse without enough rest made his body begin to feel the ill effects of fatigue, and bad luck could have befallen him if he forced a battle with his current condition.

Half a day passed and finally Prince August was able to see the fortress that became his destination, but from a distance he saw the state of the fort was very sad. Some parts of the fort were destroyed, and there were no signs of life in the fort.

Seeing that, Prince August stopped his horse's steps and asked the Generals as well as the soldiers to be wary around.

“The state of the fortress has been destroyed and no longer seen life in that place, the possibility of the fortress has been penetrated by enemy forces, but I really do not know how the fate of Father and Brother.” Prince August still continued to stare at the fortress from a distance.

"There's no way they're so easily defeated. There is a possibility that they decided to retreat to avoid enemy forces, and are currently hiding somewhere waiting for our arrival.” Prince August looked at the two Generals who were following him.

The two Generals did not go alone, there were at least hundreds of soldiers who went with them. However, not yet gone, an arrow shot out and dropped the two horses belonging to the General of the Western Empire. The two Generals slammed off the horse, but they managed to land safely above ground level.

The arrow shot back from the other direction and this time it hit the horse that Prince August was riding. The Prince suffered the same fate as his two Generals, and luckily he landed on the ground unharmed. Despite having to lose his beloved horse, at least Prince August did not lose his life.

“Enemy attack! Quickly protect His Majesty the Emperor!” Shouted one of the Generals who immediately positioned himself to protect Prince August along with several soldiers who immediately used a shield to protect the Prince.

“Damn it!... These arrows seem endless!” The two Generals who were dispelling the arrows began to be overwhelmed.

Thousands of soldiers fell victim to the endless rain of arrows. Hundreds of soldiers died, the rest suffered minor injuries until heavy injuries, and after ten minutes had passed finally the rain of arrows stopped. However, not even Prince August and the people who came with him could breathe a sigh of relief, thousands of soldiers attacked them from four directions.

From the rain of arrows, it was now the turn of thousands of soldiers to attack them. From the Black Dragon emblem seen from the fluttering flag, Prince August and his two Generals knew that the invading warriors were from the Shu Empire, and they were twice as many as the Western Empire's soldiers under Prince August.

As the two warriors from the two different Empires faced each other, it was seen that the warriors of the Shu Empire were much stronger than the soldiers of the Western Empire despite their physical size, the soldiers of the Western Empire could be said to be bigger than the soldiers of the Shu Empire. Superior in strength as well as number, the Shu Empire began to dominate the course of battle.

It was not until half an hour, most of the soldiers of the Western Empire died on the battlefield and the rest chose to surrender, although in the end they remained dead because the soldiers of the Shu Empire did not know the mercy of their enemies. Now on the side of the Western Empire, only Prince August and the two Generals are left to protect him.

“Only have a group of warriors attack me, is your leader too cowardly to meet me?” shouted Prince August.

“Your Majesty, are we now allowed to kill this man? He was too noisy and I was tired of hearing his voice.” Qiao Bao appeared while dragging Emperor Bernard.

Prince August was shocked to see who Qiao Bao was dragging. That man was Emperor Bernard, his father, and his condition was very sad with many wounds all over his body. Had he not seen the armor Emperor Bernard wore, Prince August would not have recognized him as his father because his face was completely broken.

Meanwhile Qin Chen who saw the expression of Prince August's face, he only smiled then looked at Emperor Bernard who was previously in the hands of Qiao Bao. The situation of Emperor Bernard is very severe, let alone the energy to move, to make a sound he already does not have the energy to do it.

Seeing his father's circumstances, Prince August wanted to approach him, but the two Generals forbade him from doing so.

Qin Chen smiled broadly at Prince August who was not approaching his father. “Actually it is not Emperor Bernard who will die soon, but there are people who will die first before his death, and that person is.” Qin Chen paused his words, then he pointed at Prince August.

“Prince August, as I promised your father, I will show your death before him and soon I will.” Qin Chen's figure suddenly disappeared from his place, and in one blink of an eye he had killed the two Generals near Prince August.

“Killing you is not something that is difficult for me.” Qin Chen had draped the sword in his hand into Prince August's neck, even his sharp blade had scratched the Prince's smooth neck until it bled.

“To.. to.. please ja... don't do that to my son! Ka.. if you want to kill, just kill me!” Emperor Bernard pleaded with Qin Chen to release Prince August.

“You will indeed die, but before you die I want to show your son's death what I did to Crown Prince Arthur.” Without blinking Qin Chen pulled his sword slashing at Prince August's neck.

Blood splashed onto Qin Chen's body, but he didn't feel at all uncomfortable with Prince August's blood hitting his body. “Qiao Bao, do what you want to do to that person, and after this we go see the capital of the Western Empire!” Qin Chen swung his sword, clearing the remaining blood of Prince August that was stuck on the sharp blade of his sword.

Qiao Bao simply nodded then at beheading Emperor Bernard who before his death he no longer had a living spirit.

“Go directly to the capital of the Western Empire!” Qin Chen went back up on horseback, leading the soldiers towards the Western Imperial capital that was hundreds of kilometers away from his current place.

The entire army rushed after Qin Chen, including Qiao Bao, Jin Han, and Jin Yan. While the bodies of Emperor Bernard and Prince August, their bodies were left lying just like that because previously above the sky had been flying vultures, who were ready to prey on their bodies.
