The shrill sound came from the roof of the half-roofed house, disperse the crowd of neighbors who began to arrive. Shocked to death, heart thumping for a moment, hands shaking, tears still rushing, the girl could only sit limp in the corner of the yard while looking up at the roof of the house. She cried over her brother whose soul was being shaken, stung by reality. Murod was still unwilling to accept that the sickly old man had been called the Almighty.
“Abang down!” Anindita grimaced asking the figure of the man to stop his crazy actions.
“Mr! The father! Mr!” his voice shrill as his eyes bulged in the sky, he did not at all pester his sister's request.
“Abang! come down, sholatan Father, ashamed of neighbor Bang,” persuade the young girl again with a raucous voice.
But as his screams grew, some kind neighbors helped to force the man from the roof of the house. The atmosphere was still mourning, but this incident had to be resolved. The capture of Murod's legs that were still sitting scattered over the cracks of the house that had blackened, his hands occasionally flailing his head. The arrests were tragic, the tug-of-war broke to the ground. Nearly half an hour, finally the thrashing Murod could be forced down.
Winah ran after her husband, the neighbors handed the man to his wife. Then they rush to take care of the pending funeral. Anindita gathered beside the deceased while strengthening herself, reciting prayers and sending Alfatihah. The atmosphere was already a little conducive, Murod had already taken his wife home.
Murod's insanity wasn't something that happened suddenly or accidentally. Maybe he still doesn't believe, his father died because of him. His behavior often makes the sick parents shed tears. The man often beat his pregnant wife. Several times he was caught gambling and playing with women. The last thing that made the old man quarrel with him, when Murod was caught selling the land that his parents lived in until a heart attack finally made the hardworking man leave for good.
The funeral service went well, slowly the neighbors left the funeral home. Murod, not showing the trunk of his nose, may have been given a sedative by his wife Winah. The young girl spilled all the burdens with tears. Slashed about his mind, considering that the rickety house must be abandoned immediately.
Halfway through, someone appeared from behind the door. Winah came back with her eyes. It was unfortunate that the woman had to match up with a man like Murod. The boy who was considered like his own biological child by Bu Wanti and her husband. Someone who is not responsible for his family.
Anindita, not able to do much, just pity the beautiful woman. It turns out that happiness is not guaranteed by a beautiful appearance. Murod proof, physical prowess can not make his character as beautiful as his face while single to the attention of all village girls.
"Where is Murod?" mom Wanti's voice sounded heavy.
"Wine, give me your sedative, ma'am" replied Winah.
The two poor women continued to strengthen each other, counsel each other, support each other. What a burden they must bear. From today, Ms. Wanti has to lose her husband and a place to live. While Winah, without her favorite father-in-law anymore, did not know who would help her from her husband's iron fist rampage.
Anindita deliberately broke away, went into the bamboo booth, locked the door tightly, needed clarity of mind to start again her life. Now, he's an orphan. Just one more semester, this high school has to be completed.
“Dinah, the Father is gone, the land and the house is your husband sold, the mother has no choice but to take the offer, the mother tipped Anindita until her school is finished," her voice was so weak.
“Mother so took the offer of being a housekeeper in that capital?” ask Winah to make sure.
“Yes, while there was an opportunity, yesterday I refused the offer because I still want to take care of the father, but, "the sentence faltered, the puddle again creek soaked his cheeks that began to wrinkle.
“Vinah promised to take care of Anin, as much as Winah Bu can." The woman embraced Ms. Wanti.
“Mother when to leave? Anin already knows?” ask Winah.
“As soon as possible after everything is done, I will immediately tell your sister,” he replied softly.
Their conversation continued until late, on the day of the death of the dear old man, they had to swallow the wounds. In a condition that has no place to live, Ibu Wanti finally decided to pit her fate in the capital, collect a penny to connect her life and to solve the cost of Anindita's long delinquent school.
