The Great Demon King

The Great Demon King
Chapter 34 "Unconscious Change"

Han Shuo and the group of twelve walked south for a full eight days. They encounter increasingly fierce magical creatures along the way.

Charging bulls, large lizards, magical wolves that can release blades of wind, and flying eagles that can spew ice. They are handled easily at first and escalate in difficulty until the band barely handles them by the skin of their teeth. Everyone felt the pressure rise.

Everyone started eating the food they brought and started cooking the meat of the magical creatures when all their rations were eaten.

Magical creatures are getting louder, but not all meat is edible. The lizard, for example, has a peculiar smell that accompanies its flesh which makes it difficult to swallow.

But the more powerful the magical creature was, the more valuable its carcass was, especially one that could produce simple magic. These creatures will have a magical core inside their bodies. These cores are very valuable and can be sold at prices that vary according to their levels.

The band's catch is also unusual. They had obtained four cores from magical beasts over the past few days, three from the Windblade Wolf and one from the Frost Eagle.

The core of the magical beast was divided into six levels. Core Level 6 was the cheapest, whereas level 1 was the most expensive and basically difficult to see at a glance. This magical core can be used to create powerful magical weapons and increase the power of magicians. Some special ones can even be used to increase the mental strength of mages, so the price is very high.

The magical core of Windblade Wolf was ranked at level 5, and could take twenty gold in the market, while Frost Eagle was higher, at level 4, and its market price was 150 gold. Based purely on their magical beast core conveyance, the band had made a profit even after subtracting the fifty gold needed to borrow the battlesteed.

Not to mention that other than their core, the bodies of these magical beings were also worth money. The Windblade Wolf fur and the unicorn horns of the bulls that filled them all were precious items. The value of these items added together had far exceeded the original expectations of Fanny and Gene.

“Everyone has improved after a few days of training, and you no longer panic when dealing with magical creatures. This was the most important thing in the real battle. Besides, our luck is pretty good. We have gained a lot from the sightseeing this time. We will allocate the profits to everyone after we return to the Academy and sell these items. ”Fanny is in a good mood and she smiles in satisfaction as she speaks softly to the students.

Han Shuo coldly observed everything along the way. The unskilled students went from panicking when faced with a magical being to handling them with indifference. Han Shuo had seen everything clearly.

Han Shuo's five senses were much sharper than others due to training his magical yuan. His initial warning had accomplished a lot later on, but no one could understand why Han Shuo had such perceptive senses. Fanny had even examined Han Shuo's body closely over the past few days, but appeared empty-handed each time.

Fanny was confused, but could not think of a better way. He could only say that he would use the school's magical facilities to give Han Shuo complete once after they returned to the Academy. After a few days of early remembrance and cooking up delicious meat, Han Shuo's status had subconsciously risen by several levels in the course this time around.

Other than Bach, Bella, and others who continued to behave very unfriendly towards Han Shuo due to their “bad luck” who was continuously in getting a disgusting piece of food, the other students no longer had Han Shuo go around. Some students, who were more particular about their food, even tried to become more friendly with Han Shuo in hopes of getting a better meal.

“Master Fanny, when can we reach that grave of death?” Lisa immediately asked after hearing Fanny's words.

Fanny's brows furrowed after hearing this question and she became silent. He sighed softly after a while. “I have only heard that a grave of death was once found in the far south of the Dark Forest, but I am not too sure of its exact location. Our main goal in traveling to the Dark Forest this time is to teach you the correct method of spreading necromancy magic when faced with danger. Based on our current results, you have all reached this standard.

I don't know the exact whereabouts of the grave of death. You may have noticed by now that the magical creatures we are dealing with are becoming increasingly powerful. If it wasn't for the pre-purchase Bryan had put out the past few days, I think some people would have been injured already, but even so, we only managed to get through the skin of our teeth when we met Frost Eagle yesterday. I'm afraid some of us will not only get hurt, but some may even die if we continue. Because of that, I think it's time we got back. ”

The students were slightly dumbfounded by Fanny's words, while Gene nodded and spoke, “Indeed. We were just here for training. The location of the funeral of the death is uncertain, and we don't even know if it really exists. It's normal for us not to find him. Everyone personally experienced the situation yesterday. If we continue south, I feel that everyone's life will be in danger. The outing this time around had reaped a lot of rewards, so there was no need to take any further risks. ”

“Bach, you coward. How else can a reward be obtained if it is not through risk. If it wasn't for yesterday's danger, how could we get the core of the Frost Eagle? We should continue further south, maybe we will get more valuable goods. This way, the other majors will not look down on our necromancy major when we return to the Academy. “Lisa glared at Bach with a disdainful look, and tilted her head back with sarcasm. He then glanced at Han Shuo, who was cooking meat on the side with an indifferent expression. “Bryan, don't you agree?”

Normally, no one paid attention to Han Shuo, but after his performance for the past few days, quite amazingly, all the students looked at Han Shuo after Lisa spoke. Even Fanny and Gene were the same, as if Han Shuo's decision was quite important.

Han Shuo involuntarily fell silent. He stopped, and then smiled honestly. “Taking risks is something given. People haven't been hurt. Why don't we continue? Who knows, maybe we'll get more rewards!

Fanny looked at Han Shuo strangely, became silent for a moment, and then surprisingly nodded her head. “Alright, since this is the case, then let's continue until someone gets hurt. Once that happens, we'll get back to our original path. ”

“Come, everyone, time to eat.” Han Shuo laughed lightly and called out. Fanny and Lisa then slid forward cheerfully, dropping their manners as they received the two biggest pieces of meat that Han Shuo had handed over.

In the middle of the night, a cool moonlight spilled over the Dark Forest. Some of the students had already fallen asleep soundly in some of the raw tents, while others struggled against their drowsiness and took on the arduous task of standing guard.

Han Shuo slipped away soundlessly alone, slowly moving away from the student tent and creeping through the shadow of the towering trees.

Han Shuo's not-so-strong body could be seen through the gap between the shadows of the trees. He was as fast and agile as a cheetah, suddenly changing directions easily as he walked among the trees. He had traveled far away from Fanny and the tents in the blink of an eye and continued south.

After a while, Han Shuo's body suddenly stopped as he stretched his palms upwards and shouted words to summon a skeletal warrior. “The souls of fallen warriors, watch the call of the dark herald and reveal your whereabouts!”

The thin, pitch-black skeleton holding a dagger suddenly materialized as soon as the spell was finished. The small skeletal body was even denser and darker than before, completely becoming one with the color of night. It's like a dark fairy.

The small skeleton constantly leaped from his feet to follow Han Shuo's high-speed hing, but his bones no longer creaked with sound. Seven bone spurs flapped on his back, allowing the small skeleton to accelerate rapidly in the air, as if suspended floating, as it floated through the forest side by side with Han Shuo.

Two Windblade Wolves suddenly appeared in front of the skeleton man and duo. Two Windblade Wolves gobbled up the carcass of a magical creature in the form of a wild pig. One of them seemed to feel a disturbance in the air as his sharp ears suddenly stood up and his green eyes shot to and fro.

The bone dagger glittered with a cold and sharp light emerging from the night. The bone dagger carved an incredible curve through thin air and suddenly stabbed towards the wolf, who was already on high alert.

At the same time, a nimble figure suddenly dashed out from the trees of the Dark Forest and made for the other Windblade Wolves. A faint purple light suddenly appeared in the dark sky, appearing increasingly beautiful and fey.

Two terrifying roars sounded from the two Windblade Wolves. All the bloodthirsty wolves had been killed before they had a chance to react. One wolf skull was split straight with a bone dagger, and the other fell stiffly to the ground with a cold breath coming out of its mouth.

“Heh heh, two other five-level cores!” Han Shuo spoke to himself in satisfaction as he withdrew his hand.

On the other hand, the small skeleton had already started to wrap around the precious Windblade Wolf's skin with its bone dagger. Judging from the movements he practiced, this was not the first time he had done so.
