The Great Demon King

The Great Demon King
Chapter 151 "One by one"

Han Shuo only had to experience the old killer Lucky skill after both of them flew into Calvert's house. A decent assassin would maintain his position before he moved on his target. He would only let his target feel his presence in the moment he moved.

Lucky is quite professional in this regard. He first squatted on the roof after entering Calvert's house, looked over the entire building, then showed the use of each room for Han Shuo. He clearly explained which one was the living room, which was the master bedroom, as well as the bathroom.

It seems Lucky is very experienced in all architectural styles, and must have thought of this. Otherwise, he would not have been able to obtain so much information after just glancing at the layout shortly after arriving here.

Lucky transforms into a gray robe that matches the color of the wall. As he slowly walked along the wall, no one detected any disturbance, even as bright moonlight rained down.

Han Shuo took out the same robe under Lucky's gaze and followed behind Lucky, moving towards the brightly lit roof of the living room.

Han Shuo's breathing became measurable and stable as they approached the living room, and his heartbeat also suddenly became extremely slow, corresponding to the speed of his breathing. Even the heat coming out of his body started to diminish as they approached the living room. When they were close enough, he could, on stage, be mistaken for a shingle on the roof when he did not move.

Lucky was unable to hide his body like Han Shuo did even after taking the pill. When he finally reached the top of the roof, Lucky looked at Han Shuo in disbelief as he was deeply shocked by Han Shuo's control over his body.

Ever since reaching the stage of a true demon, Han Shuo could sense that his body was indeed more nimble and dexterous than before. He could adjust his body condition to all sorts of situations by making adjustments on his own, making it very easy for him to do something like hide his presence.

Since Clark might be in the living room, the two did not dare to lift the roof tiles to look inside. They placed their cheeks on the roof and tried to listen to the conversation inside.

“Alright, let's do it like this. Keep your wits about you lately, Lawrence seems to have been spotted in Valen City, so he might try to make trouble or you. “Kark's voice sounded when he reminded Calvert to be careful.

“Lawrence is just the son of the finance minister. Doesn't he want to die if he comes to find me in Valen City? “Calvert has absolutely no objection when her warm laughter sounds like a bell.

“Uncle Calvert, Lawrence's identity is not that simple. After all, you should always be vigilant. Father I'll send someone to protect you in two days. “Clark reminds Calvert.

“I've made the head worry. Heh, it's already night, why don't you rest here tonight? I've prepared a special entertainment for you, “Calvert laughed.

“It's okay, thank you uncle. However, some foreigners have appeared in Valen City lately and I have a lot to take care of. I'm not staying here tonight. “Clark makes excuses and seems ready to go.

His ears lifted from the roof tiles, Han Shuo stood up and glanced at Lucky. The two left in a voice and quickly moved away from the manor.

Lucky has decided to change that plan because Clark is leaving and wants to get rid of him when he travels. He had to pass a certain path after leaving Calvert's house. There were all sorts of buildings and some shady trees on that road, which made a good place to move no matter where they came from.

“You hide and wait in the tree, choose the best time after I move to attack Clark.” Lucky instructed and then crouched over a nearby wall, as if he was a gecko, fused into the night.

Lucky has no way to signal when the time is right to move. Lucky could only let Han Shuo try to capture the critical moment himself.

A horse carriage left Calvert's house after a while, the crackling sound of the horse's hooves sounded quite ear-piercing. The groom was a muscular guard and he waved the whip in his hand to spur the horse. When the carriage passed through where Lucky was hidden, a figure flashed from the corner of the concealment so quickly, as if it had no weight, and attached itself to the bottom of the carriage.

Han Shuo clearly saw all of this from his vantage point in the distance. He took a deep breath when he saw the carriage approaching the large tree where he was hiding. While holding and watching closely, he tightened his grip on Demonslayer Edge.

At this time, Han Shuo discovers that Lucky is an assassin who also happens to be a sword master. A milky white sword aura flashed and disappeared as if it had never appeared. The pieces of the carriage were crushed and lying on the ground. One person inside the carriage was filled with bloody holes and had died instantly, while the groom at the front of the carriage was running for his life.

Han Shuo felt very surprised at first, thinking that Lucky had succeeded so quickly. However, he realized that the person on the carriage was completely unfamiliar to him when he saw the corpse. That's not Clark at all. The scattered footsteps rapidly approaching from all directions immediately made Han Shuo realize the severity of the situation.

“We played, retreat!” Han Shuo immediately called out from the top of the tree and jumped down from the thick growth.

Lucky's expression remained calm as he scanned the surroundings, calling back gently, “We will part ways and go through the surrounding houses.”

Han Shuo nodded and did not say much, jumping into the air and landing on the roof. When he looked back, he saw that Lucky had miraculously disappeared.

Han Shuo's heart became calmer at this moment as he coldly looked around and noticed that several soldiers had appeared in the streets forwards and backwards. These people stormed the backs of horses, and some had drawn their bows to send arrows at him.

Clark, with an easy expression on his face, walked out from the direction of Calvert's house with another well-built middle-aged knight. Their gazes landed on Han Shuo as they pushed on the blade below them to come charging over.

There were many houses around, but as Han Shuo concentrated and listened, he noticed that it seemed like no one was living there. He did not know if they had been moved before. Only now did he slightly regret that he did not use his extremely sensitive senses to investigate his surroundings. He's too focused on killing Clark and hasn't really checked the details yet.

Han Shuo dodged nimbly as the arrow came, he saw many soldiers approaching. He weighed things and threw the Ninth“ Demon Heaven Art, sending himself shooting into the air and leaving like an eagle.

Many arrows whistled and were carried away by Demonslayer Edge. He flew out of the siege in the blink of an eye and descended on a large tree in the distance.

Although Han Shuo was not yet experienced in this field, he had no problems flying through the air. Because of this Art he was able to free himself from the soldiers.

Moreover, Han Shuo discovered that compared to the levitation spells that archmages could cast in this world, “Ninth Heaven” demon arts were much more advanced. None of the lifting spells that the archmages could cast even came close to the speed of his Art and maneuverability.

He took a deep breath and examined his surroundings, discovering that Clark had nearly a hundred soldiers with him. These people were doing a carpet-style search, going through each room to look for Lucky. They gave up hunting Han Shuo after he left and focused on finding Lucky.

Just as Han Shuo began to worry about Lucky, a figure, using a lifting spell, quickly approached from a distance. The moon was covered by a cloud of dark mist within a second and the already dim sky immediately darkened. When the figure approached, it let out a magic wand, which was, it was made of white bones from the broad sleeves and chanted a spell in a low voice.

Suddenly, many skeletal warriors, zombies, and ghosts, as well as gargoyle and hate warriors appeared, charging towards the soldiers.

Another low chant sounded as the bone arrows flew wildly through the air and crashed into the soldiers, making them scream in pain.

“Yeah, this is an archmage level necromancer!” Calvert suddenly shouted in surprise.

Han Shuo was also greatly shocked as he stared intently at the necromancy expert who appeared in midair, completely shocked by the destruction of necromancy magic."
