THE FLO!

THE FLO!
Bag. 4

"It's just another nerdy kid" said the girl.

I scrunched my forehead to hear this boy's words. The boy passed me while deliberately bumping into my shoulder. He seems to want to scare me. But baby, it's not gonna happen. He's no more creepy than my senior or my boss at work. He's just a snot kid who wants to look powerful.

I let out a long sigh. "Another braless girl," I said as I stared at the child.

"What?" ask the boy while turning his body.

"Lo heard me just now" I replied. I patted her shoulder while passing through it. "Usually big-breasted girls have no brains. Just wondering if you're one of them."

I sat on my stool and put my bag on the table. My attention was shifted as my bag was suddenly thrown onto the floor which made me lift next to my eyebrows. Good thing my bag doesn't contain my precious laptop or I killed this kid. I took a deep breath and looked at the girl's face.

"Childish," I said slowly as I crossed her arms. I have no interest in taking my bag that fell. I looked at the girl from top to bottom. This kid's attitude reminds me of my juniors at work. They both suck.

"Don't be a new kid, you can do as you please. Precisely because you're a new kid, you have to be aware of your place!" it was her threatening that made me raise my eyebrows.

This kid is really childish.

Snotboy.

"And where is my place?" I asked while challenging him.

"Lo is a lowly creature! It's not worth challenging me!" hisses.

I raise my eyebrows. "And who are you? God or god until I don't deserve to fight you?" my reply. "As long as you're human, why am I afraid? Unless you drip a new kuntilanak maybe I'll be afraid of you."

There was a sound of chuckling from the classroom. I looked at the girl whose face started to turn red with anger. I smiled faintly because I knew I was winning against this child. At least my feelings were much better when the girl turned her body around while screeching that this wasn't done. Take it easy, son, I'm still not done the same lo. My threat.

...***...

Turns out the computer lab is a lot better than I thought. Every computer has a room in it that keeps me from getting caught. Moreover, I sat in the back of the room. As I passed by a few disciples, I could hear them talking about me. I, who was used to being the subject of conversation, ended up just staying quiet as I passed them. I turned on the computer and stared at the screen. My attention was shifted when the door opened. A teary-eyed and smashed-haired man came in while carrying a laptop. I frowned at me. Although his hair was pitch-black, his face seemed to have caucasian blood.

I've seen that guy before, but where?

"Well children, your task now is to create an excel formula that I will send by e-mail and when it is finished send it back to me. That will be your test next week" the man said. There was a disappointed sigh from the students.

"But, sir, we have a new son. She doesn't necessarily know the formula" said a teary-eyed girl who sat two benches in front of my stool. I smiled when I heard him remember me.

The man walked towards my place. Upon realizing closer, it turned out that he was much more handsome. Although it was hidden by the glasses, I could see her eyes were brown. The man extended his hand.

"I'm Davin. I've heard about you, Florence. I'll send you every formula you need to complete this task and learn it because next week we're going to the test" the man said as he pulled his hand as we finished shaking hands. The man's tone sounded arrogant. I just nodded and the man turned his body.

As I opened the task that the man was referring to, I gaped. I can do this while closing my eyes. I'll bet I can complete this task in less than ten seconds. But I can't really show myself. I reminded myself not to forget my duties during my time at school.

An e-mail came into the computer and I opened it. Coming from the teacher because it contains excel formulas that make me shake slowly. It's a lot easier than my mind. But to support my disguise, I deliberately made it wrong so that the man named Davin sent back with a note where my mistake was.

I purposely slowed down my duties so I could stay here longer. I took the flash drive out of my jacket pocket and put it in the computer's CPU. I sat down while leaning my body against the bench. A second later, all the computers in the room instantly died. Not just the computer in the room, but it looks like the whole computer is connected to the school system.

"Nobody panicked! It's just a down system. It will soon be lit up, too" Davin said, trying to calm the panicked pupils.

I smiled meaningfully.

Yes, there is no need to be afraid.

It'll be fine soon.

Every lamp on each CPU is flashing rapidly, indicating that the virus I entered began to spread to every computer. Not long after, all the computers in the room came back on and nothing seemed to happen. Even the folder I just opened again appeared on the computer screen. I smiled thinly.

A year and a half ago, this school system broke down because of an influx of computer viruses and Freya asked for my help. Even though I was in New York at the time, I was able to reach him through my program. That's why I was able to insert a virus into this school computer just by using a not-so-good virus. And after I thought, this virus isn't as bad as my mind. This virus turned out to be much more useful than I was using any other computer virus I used. Looks like I can perfect this virus again so I can use it further.

Not to forget, I pulled my flash drive that I used and put it in my skirt pocket. I got up from my seat during an e-mail reply from Davin telling me that my job was right. I thanked him before leaving Davin and the lab. While moving my neck, I smiled widely and looked at this school.

Now you're mine.

...***...

Although I was able to find out about Stella and her minions, I was unable to find a single man who had any connection to Freya's pregnancy. Even so, I searched the data of every male name that appeared in Freya's diary. I made a red thread connecting Freya and every single male that appeared the most in that diary.

A man named Azka, former chairman of OSIS and ex-girlfriend of Freya. In the diary it says that Freya relented for not wanting to make 'she' hurt. Who 'he' does Freya mean? Moreover, Freya wrote in the diary, saying that the person hated him for approaching Azka. Is he the father of the baby? But there is still a possibility not because during this half year Azka exchange students to Singapore while the age of Freya content is only seven weeks.

Then there was Caesar, Freya's best friend since Junior High. Freya wrote that their relationship was strained. Freya said that from the beginning Caesar did not agree that Freya was dating Azka. They are still friends but somehow Caesar suddenly away from him. There is no clear reason I can find. Looks like I need to figure out Caesar's reason.

Last up was Collin. When I saw the picture of the man, I was shocked. He's the guy who thinks I'm gonna jump off the roof of the school. He was a BP teacher. And Freya wrote that Collin was only one of the few people who was good to Freya. That's what makes me suspicious. And if he's the one who impregnated Freya, I won't forgive him. I'll go after him and make him regret knowing me.

I raised my eyebrows when I accidentally saw Davin's photo on the teacher list. He was thirty, only five years different from me. I'm curious because I've seen this guy before. I tried to remember but it didn't work. My body snapped as my laptop rang, indicating that someone was trying to reach me via Skype. I smiled when I saw Brenda's name coming up.

"Hi, Brenda," I said cheerfully. Brenda looked so relieved when she saw my face.

"Thank God, I tried to contact you a million times but you didn't pick up. I thought you were kidnapped!" his his sizzle made me chuckle.

"I miss you too" I replied, which made her finally shut up and smile.

"How are your parents doing?"

"Papa started to accept it but Mama was still in shock. I still see her crying in Freya's room while hugging Freya's pillow. I can't ban it because sometimes I do the same thing."

Brenda's face looked just as sad as mine. Maybe if she was here, she would hug me and comfort me. His loving attitude reminds me of Freya.

"Keep her safe. Don't let her get sick from losing Freya" Brenda said, reminding me that Freya's death wasn't the end of the world. I'm nodding.

"And about your job" said Brenda who woke me from my daydreams. "Why didn't you tell me that you sent all your tasks to the headquarters?"

I grinned. "Let's hurry, Brenda. I don't want to be chased by a leadline so I send it straight to the big boss."

"But he got angry with me because you finished your job faster than usual. Said you were interrupting his schedule."

I grimaced. I sent you my job longer, wrong. I sent my assignment faster, also wrong. He's the most annoying boss ever. But even so, he was also a good boss. The proof is that he didn't mind my long cut and let me stay in Jakarta for six months.

"When do you go back to New York?" ask Brenda who pulled me back to reality.

"don't know. Until Mama calms down" I replied, staring at the picture of my family next to my laptop. "You don't have to worry. The boss will still send me work I can do and you will still receive your salary. Even though I can only meet by teleconference or by phone. And I'm handing you a client assignment, okay?"

Brenda breathed a heavy and long sigh. "At least if you're here, my job isn't this heavy" he grinned, which made me laugh.

"Someone I want to ask. You know what Davin's name is?" I asked when I remembered my computer teacher's face.

"Davin? Who'sis that? Your next boyfriend?" brenda's tease makes me turn my eyeballs. "Unacquainted. Maybe if you send me the picture, I can remember."

I immediately sent Davin a photo via e-mail and when Brenda received my e-mail, she shook her head slowly.

"Never seen. Wh why? How are you curious? Who's she?" tanyaBrend.

"No one's. I just feel like I've seen him where but I forgot."

Brenda moved her neck. He looked at me suspiciously. "I've seen Braxton a couple of weeks busy. Why do you think he is?"

I lifted both my shoulders. "Dunno. I have no idea."

"Did he go back to his old job? If so, I broke his neck" he threatened to make me laugh.

"Didn't he promise not to commit another crime? Besides, I'm not gonna help him this time, anyway."

Mama's voice calling me to dinner forced me to stop this conversation. Brenda made me promise to contact her as often as I could. Then I sent Braxton a message saying that this time I managed to save him from Brenda's suspicions. Braxton only replied that he wasn't grateful because it was my job.

While going down the stairs towards the dining room, I thought of the two brothers. Braxton is the twin sister of Brenda although their faces are not similar. They are only one minute different. At first they were neighbors of my flat when I was in Massachusetts. They are the closest to me. Braxton was an American naval officer. And because of that, he had an acquaintance capable of falsifying identities.

When Braxton was in trouble with the law, I helped him several times because I remembered how good they were to me. But it was not long because Braxton finally fulfilled his duties on the ship and rarely returned. Because Brenda lived alone, when I graduated and became a programmer at one of the New York companies, I asked her to come with me and be my assistant. His salary was quite large and he did not have to worry about the place to stay because he would stay with me. So I tried as quickly as possible to get back to New York and continue my work. The sooner I find that irresponsible guy, the better.
