THE FLO!

THE FLO!
Bag. 14

I gasp. I knew that my face was as white as paper because I felt that no blood was flowing to my brain. Davin noticed the change in my face because suddenly his smile disappeared from his handsome face and instead looked at me seriously.

"You don't have to worry, Flo, I'm not interested in reporting you," Davin said as he straightened up. I am calmer, though a little. "So, can you explain to me why you're posing as a high school boy?"

I swallowed my saliva. "What if I told you, you promised not to report me?" my many. He looked at me inside.

"I told you I'm not interested in reporting you. But if your goal is not good, then I must resort to it by force."

I closed my eyes. Before opening my mouth, I let out a long sigh first to gather my courage. "I went back to that school to investigate my sister's death."

"Freya? Didn't he kill himself?"

I'm nodding. "That's what made me suspicious. She knew how our mother struggled to give birth to her and she loved her life so much even though she was unhappy. Freya values every life. She was pregnant and choosing to kill herself was something she couldn't possibly do because it meant that she not only took her life but the life of her baby."

Davin looked at me. "What if it was his wish to die?"

I breathed out violently. "I'll try to accept. But I wanted to find out who was the irresponsible person who made my sister pregnant. I also want to make Stella responsible for bullying my sister" I said, clenching my hand tightly.

Davin looked at me and I looked back at him.

"If you want to report me, please. But please give me some time until I finish this puzzle, sir," I said with a glass.

I saw Davin close his eyes and let out a long sigh. He opened his eyes by looking at me. "You know my reason why I go to the roof every Tuesday?" tanyanya and I shook their heads. "I feel guilty. At that time I saw him walking towards the roof through CCTV and I did not prevent him. I didn't feel weird when I saw that the CCTV on the roof was dead because I thought it was broken. I didn't know he'd choose to kill himself there."

I held my breath when I heard her words. I don't know if I can trust him. Without realizing it, I let out my thoughts in a loud voice.

Davin smiled. "You really don't know who I am, do you?" it asked deeply which made me raise my eyebrows. She shook her head. "I can assure you I'm not your enemy, Flo. If you don't believe me, why do you think I didn't report you when I knew your identity in the first place?"

I bowed my head and gripped my hand tightly. I still feel insecure. Honestly, I still have my own anxiety that I can't pin down. My head was raised when I heard her laughter.

"Now I saw a sane man who went back to High School. Imagine you are twenty-five, trying to be a seventeen-year-old!" Davin clucked while shaking his head. "Programmers usually use logic and this time there is a programmer who not only does not use logic, but also is not sane. What would your boss say if he knew his ex-employees were doing this?"

"Do you know my boss?" ask me confused.

He shrugged both his shoulders. "I told you I know you, Flo. Your name is famous among programmers. It's as young as this but it's capable of creating an incredible virus capable of shutting down an institution if you want. It's a good thing you didn't use your intelligence to commit crimes."

I smiled at her compliment.

"Then what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be back in America?" tanyakanya. I'm shaking.

"I'm here to replace my boss at the conference. I didn't expect that the school would let its students stay in this hotel."

"School students are mostly children of officials or businessmen. How can schools allow students to stay in unsafe hotels?" tanyakanya. He's cleared his throat. "There is one thing I wanted to ask from the beginning. Why become a student? Why don't you become a teacher like me?"

I'm shaking. I explained my answer as I explained my answer to Braxton. He raised his eyebrows when he heard my answer and laughed.

"It turns out you're still using your logic among your insanity" Davin sneered at me turning my eyeballs in annoyance. "Florentia Abdi Kusuma's. Programmer Pioneer Technosoft disguises himself as a high school boy to find out the death of his sister. I didn't believe it at first but when you managed to fix the school program that I accidentally broke, I'm sure."

My eyes widen. "The father who entered the virus? Quickly when I searched where the virus came from, it appeared the IP address of the computer Mr!" my cry after remembering the events of my first day following my exkul.

Davin smiled at me. "I guess I was crazy when I heard what you said on the roof that day."

"Remain?" ask me confused.

"You don't realize when you talk to Mom and your Om, I'm on the same roof as you and you hear your talk?"

My eyes are getting wider. "She heard... everything?"

Davin nodded. "Looky! The girl who returned to high school at the age of twenty-five years to find out the death of her sister. Looks like a good novel title."

I cleared my throat, trying to cover up my anxiety. "I didn't expect you to be able to respond to this casually" I said, leaning my body against the back of the chair.

"Because I'm used to surprising actions. But this is much more shocking than my mind." Davin smiled. "Then what did your parents say when you said you were going undercover?"

"Papa I know but I kept this from my mother. I don't want to make him anxious."

"Then the woman who became your mother was...?"

"He's my personal assistant."

"The one who was your om...?"

"Sister Brenda. They were the ones who took care of me during my stay in America. You could say we were close like family and they were the people I trusted the most."

Davin nodded in understanding. "Then who do you suspect is the father of the baby Freya has conceived?"

I raise my eyebrows. This guy works fast. "There are four people. Three of them are the most mentioned in Freya's diary. Azka, Caesar and Mr. Collin."

"Then the fourth?"

I fell silent and then looked down. He asked again, which lifted my head. "The fourth man is Father!"

Davin frowned in confusion. "I? Why me?"

"I can't trace my past. Moreover, you always appear on the roof every Tuesday and at the same time Freya died."

Davin laughed out loud at my words. He even held his stomach. I looked at him confused.

"I couldn't possibly impregnate Freya" Davin said after he managed to stop his laughter and looked at me. "First, I am not close to a single student. Second, I'm not interested in high school. Third, I am still sane to not relate to my own students. Lastly, I never spoke to Freya other than during lesson time."

I looked at him sharply.

"You can trust me, Flo. I told you I'm not your enemy, let alone the person who impregnated Freya. I just felt responsible for not being able to hold him off to the roof. Point!"

My body relaxed a little but I still couldn't believe it and I said it frankly to her. He smiled understandingly.

"Trust is difficult for people with a work background like you to accept. But you can hold onto my words" Davin replied deeply. "Although I won't help you seek justice for your sister's death. It's your problem and I don't intend to interfere. I don't want to be bothered with anything else unrelated to me."

I smiled wryly. It turns out he's not as good as my mind.

"What's your phone number?" davin asked suddenly which jolted me. "Don't misunderstand me. It's for your benefit too. I'll send you a message about where the study tour is going, preventing you from seeing us."

"Will you help me?" I just don't believe it.

He's nodding. "Indeed how did you avoid the two hundred disciples who almost all knew you for daring to challenge Stella? You're on the same island, the same plane, even in the same hotel."

I scrunched my forehead in surprise. "Do you know where I got the plane from?"

"I see you in the airport. Caesar accidentally hit you. It turns out that you are much different if you use a work suit like this," Davin replied while looking at me. "Florence Ferdinand was usually plain-faced, a bit of a mess, always wearing a jacket, his hair was always tied up and his body was a bit stooped as it always carried a heavy bag. Different from Florentia Abdi Kusuma. She was elegant in her work suit, wearing makeup that made me barely recognize her, being very calm and looking formal. The same person but as if he had a different personality."

"This is how I work."

"But are you happy?"

I raised my head to hear the question. I bit my lower lip because I couldn't answer. He breathed and smiled. He patted me on the shoulder and got up from his seat.

"I think I've heard enough of your explanation. I can only help you cover your identity. And more importantly, if you cross the line to seek justice, humiliate others for example, I will not hesitate to punish you. Understood?"

I nodded slowly. He smiled and patted my shoulder slowly. I drove him to my bedroom door. While walking nearby, suddenly the incident crossed my head.

When Davin kissed my lips.

And remembering that, my face immediately felt hot. I even held my cheek because I felt uncomfortable.

"It's time I asked you, Father," I said before he left my room. "Why did you kiss me earlier?"

Davin initially raised his eyebrows in surprise but he smiled. "Fraight in public usually causes discomfort for people around. They will try as soon as possible to leave. Moreover, I intend that Daisy and her friends can not see my face or yours. It can be damaged if they see you who should be in New York and even seen in Bali. It's even worse to see me kissing you."

My face immediately felt unusually hot. He cleared his throat and immediately left me. After she left, I immediately locked the door of my room and ran to the bathroom. I stared at my reflection through the glass and realized that my face was as red as a boiled crab. I washed my face with cold water and looked back at the glass. That doesn't help. My face is still red. I took a long breath and exhaled it, trying to calm my heart that was beating harder than usual. While doing that, I briefly saw my lips. Suddenly I remembered the moment Davin's lips touched mine. Oh, my God, her lips are so soft. I screamed out loud.

But can it?

...***...

Because I kept thinking about my kiss with Davin, all night I couldn't close my eyes. I was only able to sleep when the clock showed me at two in the morning. The sound of an alarm that woke me up because otherwise I would not have woken up. While yawning widely, I made coffee. I was still sleepy and several times I accidentally hit the furniture in the hotel. The sound of knocking on the door made me realize. It's six o'clock in the morning, there's no way Darry's picking me up because the conference starts at eight. I yawned wide and opened my bedroom door. My body instantly froze when I saw who was standing in front of me.

"What if for example I was your classmate and saw you here where you should be in New York? Why don't you wear your wig?" ask Davin. I didn't answer, just looked at him and looked carefully, I still gaped!

Davin's serious face turned into a mischievous smile. "It turns out that Florentia Abdi Kusuma is still an ordinary human being," he mocked that made me aware of my appearance. I closed my mouth with my hands and looked at her.

"What's this father doing here?" I ask who accuses that. I look around me.

"I'm alone, Flo, you don't have to worry if you think I'm being followed" she replied. He gave me a piece of paper. "This is the study tour schedule today. During this one day, the second grade spends more time outside so you don't have to worry about going to see one of your friends."

I received the paper and opened the door of my room wide. "Brother want to come in? I'm making coffee again," I bargained.

"Viscous coffee?" ask him expectantly. I raised my eyebrows hinting that I was making my coffee as I wished.

Davin went inside and I closed the door. I invited him to sit down and I went back to my boiling coffee. I removed the papers on the table in front of Davin and placed the coffee mug both for me and Davin on the table. Yesterday I did finish the material I was going to bring for tomorrow and I left the paper I used as the material on the table.

"Cream and sugar?" bargained. He shook his head which made me raise my eyebrows. It turns out that his coffee taste is the same as mine.

I sat on the bench across from him sipping my coffee. I read the schedule he had brought me and raised my eyebrows. I won't see them until this afternoon, but what about this morning? Maybe I'll keep passing them in a lobby for example. I took a long breath.

"I need your phone number yesterday. So if for example I see you, I can remind you not to approach me" Davin replied suddenly as if he could read my mind.

I raised my head. "Don't you say you won't help me? Why are you doing this now?" I asked suspiciously.

"This is not a favor. There is no benefit for me to help you or ignore you. Let's just say that I'm doing good," she replied, shrugging her shoulders.

I immediately smiled wryly. How could I fall in love with someone like this? Stupid jerk. Forget about that feeling, Flo. I kept reminding myself to ignore my feelings. Just as his coffee ran out, he got up from his seat.

"Thank you for the coffee. It turns out that your coffee is delicious," Davin said. I frowned at me.

"Where do you know that I often make coffee?" ask me confused.

"Every time you go to the laboratory, you always bring a small flask that if you open it will smell like coffee. And I often see you carry that flask with you wherever you go" Davin replied with a faint smile.

"I did bring two flasks that contained all coffee, sir. At first I only brought one but because it was less, I ended up bringing two."

Davin shook his head while clucking. "That's your shortcoming, Flo. High School kids don't drink black coffee, two flasks anyway."

The wrinkles on my forehead are getting worse. I am more confused by his words.

"You said you wanted to be a high school boy? Your attitude doesn't even resemble that of a High School boy. I've been wondering until now why you weren't caught."

"I mean, Father?" ask me confused.

He sighed and closed his eyes and opened them. "Flo, you said you wanted to be a high school boy?" I'm nodding. "You're not like most high schoolers."

"My attitude?"

Davin nodded. "Look at the way you sit" he said. I watched the way I sat. Nothing is strange. "Schoolers don't sit that hard. Normally, they would bend their bodies as they sat."

I did his orders.

"Still less! We're still like career women, not students!" hisses.

I lowered my body until he said enough.

"Now stand up" he ordered and I did. He grunted softly. "This is what made me even more suspicious of you from the start."

"Why, Sir?" ask me confused.

"Every time you deal with a teacher, you always put your hands behind your back, like you're dealing with your boss. Especially when I first saw you in the teacher room, you shook hands with the teacher like you were greeting your colleague. Totally formal."

"So I have to do what?"

"Be relaxed like a teenager."

I frowned in confusion and he looked frustrated when he realized my confusion.

"You were never a teenager, anyway? You are like a robot!" hiss Davin offended me. "I'm sorry, but I'm upset to see your attitude."

I'm scissoring. "Regardless, sir, I didn't have a teenager. I spent my childhood and adolescence studying. Even at Junior High School, I had no friends. Maybe just a few acquaintances."

Davin scratched his head while looking at me. "From now on, every time you go home from school you meet me in the computer lab room. I'll teach you how to be a high school boy."

I raise my eyebrows. "Don't you say you don't want to help me?"

"It has nothing to do with help! I am frustrated to see that attitude of you who have no fear. First, we change your attitude that often refutes the words of the teacher. Don't you know that you've been hated by Mr. Yusron?"

I smiled mockingly.

"Forget over! When entering later, you should see me—"

"I can search the internet if I want. 'How to be a good and ideal High School boy'. I'll see you when I search on Google."

Davin shakes. "There are some things you can't find on Google, Flo. Do you think you can make memories by searching for them on Google?" I shook my head slowly. "Hear my words. Let's just say this isn't from your teacher but from your senior. However, our age difference is not too far away."

"Your real father thirty?"

"My age is thirty-two but I write thirty. What's wrong with being two years younger? Than you who faked your age up to eight years younger?" he sneered while shrugging both shoulders.

I smiled wryly at her taunts. But there are things that are much more important. "Why can't I find a single thing about you? Braxton can't look up your life as if you were born in this world."

Instead of answering, he smiled. He turned his body and opened my bedroom door. Before coming out, he turned his head slightly.

"Let's just remember who I am" Davin said in mystery and shut the door before I could ask what he meant.

...***...

I headed for the hotel ballroom when the clock was showing almost eight o'clock. I put on my sunglasses and put on my disguise. I also wore my work suit, which Davin said made him not recognize me. I wore a white shirt covered by a gray blazer and passed it on with pants that were in the same color as my blazer. I also used my five-cent high heels to trick my height. Darry said, I don't have to bring anything today because of my job today as a tester, not a speaker. So I just came by using my handbag.

I got into the elevator when the iron door opened. As the elevator I was riding down, my phone shook in my bag. When I wanted to take it, the door in front of me opened. My eyes widened when I saw Davin calling someone. He was so scared when he saw me. He went straight into the elevator and I could see that some of my friends were following behind him. Deliberately, Davin stood right in front of me to block the view of the people near me. He also deliberately pulled me, out of sight of course, to the very corner of the elevator. I closed my eyes as the wide back in front of me covered me.

There was a clinking sound and the elevator door opened. He let my classmate out of the elevator first and he came out. He turned his head to me and threw his sweet smile at me. I closed my eyes in annoyance. Why is it that when I want to get rid of my feelings, he's kind to me?

While grieving, I took my foot out of the elevator. I deliberately walked slower and followed Davin a bit further behind him. I watched my friends laugh happily. My attention was shifted when my phone rang. I frowned when I saw that Davin was calling me.

"You better stay away from us" Davin said as I picked up the phone.

"Why, Sir?" ask me confused.

"Caesar sees you. You'd better turn around and get away from us."

"But I'm going to ballroom—" I was distracted by Darry's voice calling my name. I turned my body and smiled at him. "Let me call again, sir," I said before I hung up.

"Mother is waiting. Go ahead," take Darry. I smiled at him. My phone vibrated back but only once did it signify that a message was coming in. From Davin!

Next time tell your friend to call you by another name!

I laughed reading the message. When I turned my head, I saw him glaring at me. I replied to her short message then smiled sweetly at her. As he stared at his phone, he immediately raised his head while glaring at me sharply.

His face was angry. I replied to my message by writing, Fine, sir. From now on I'll ask Darry to call me 'Flo'. I followed Darry while giggling. When I turned my head back, I could see that Davin was looking at me while shaking his head in concern which made me laugh even more.
