The Destiny Emperor's Journey

The Destiny Emperor's Journey
20. The price to pay for Power Part 4

While Yu Yan closed his eyes and waited for his fate of death, Wang Wei's bright red sword stopped a millimeter from his heart. No matter what Wang Wei did, he could not push his sword forward.

This one millimeter symbolizes the abyss that separates the last traces of his humanity; it also represents the path of his destiny.

Crossing that abyss and he's no longer human, he'll turn into a power slave, a puppet of fate.

Stepping away from it, he still had a chance for redemption, a chance to try to hand control of his fate into his own hands.

Wang Wei looked at his mother, then the memories engraved deep within his memories flooded his mind. He remembered the reason he had embarked on this path of pursuing power: to protect his mother from the persecution of other clans.

But now, years later, he had forgotten his original purpose. His desire for power slowly consumed him as blood flowed out of one's severed arteries.

Then suddenly Wang Wei realized that the hardest thing in cultivating was not the process of reaching the higher realms. No, with his talent alone and with the abundant resources of the sect, it was only a matter of time before he could cultivate to the Supreme Realm.

The real difficulty in cultivating was how to remember his original purpose, his original heart. Long-lived cultivators. The real temptation they must face is how not to let the passage of time affect their hearts, maintaining their original intentions before the demon named time.

Can you be sure that after a million years, you are the same person? Do people who know you at first still recognize who you are? Can you reflect and say without a doubt that you are not doing anything that goes against your conscience? And if you do change, is it too late to correct your mistakes?

All of this was the essence of having a strong and powerful Dao Heart, and Wang Wei nearly killed his mother to truly understand these things.

Yu Yan opened his eyes after a while without feeling any pain. The painful death he was waiting for did not come.

When he opened his eyes, he saw his son holding a sword very close to his heart without moving a single bit. At the same time, he saw tears streaming down his eyes, wetting his clothes.

His eyes were no longer emotionless. Instead, they were filled with pain and struggle. They are constantly changing from pure cruelty to compassionate love.

Yu Yan realized that his son was in an internal fight between good and evil. His son is in his final struggle to redeem himself. She did not say anything to him, her gentle smile remained visible on her face.

He knew that this was a battle that his own son had to face. Whatever the outcome, he will accept it.

If his son succeeds, he will lead him down the path of redemption to pay for all his negative karma. If he fails, he will die as a form of redemption for the world and his son.

Wang Wei's struggle lasted over nine hours. After which, he dropped the sword in his hand onto the floor.

She looked at her mother with tenderness, love, and guilt, then said: "Mom." His voice was rough and hoarse and he stuttered. This was due to the fact that he had not spoken for many years.

Her tears kept flowing and she knelt on the ground in front of her mother. He continued: "I'm sorry for what happened."

Yu Yan rushed over to his son and hugged him on the dirty floor. She cried with him and comforted him. He tells her that everything will be fine from now on, that there is still time to change, time to correct his past mistakes.

The mother and son spent the next day talking to each other.

This time his smile was no longer stiff or indifferent. Instead, his smile gave off a feeling of removing the weight of the world from his shoulders: his smile was free and unrestrained.

After saying a farewell word to his mother, Wang Wei teleported away from the Wang clan. Then he turned into a giant. His body was so large that the concept of size could no longer be applied to him.

Everyone in the world raised their heads to see a gigantic human head covering the entire sky. In the face of these giants, they were just ants crawling on the ground to survive the cruelty of nature. And this giant is at the top of the food pyramid.

The people of the world immediately knelt on the ground and did not make a single sound. The world became very quiet. In fact, not only humans, all living and non-living beings also act like this. Even the wind stopped blowing so as not to make the flowers move and make the slightest sound.

The giant looked at all the creatures in the world and declared: “My name is Wang Wei, but many of you should know me by the title of Demon Slaughter'”

Hearing those giant words, many people became frightened. Who does not know the Demon Slaughter that killed most of the people in the world. They all live each day in fear and think that someday the devil will come to finish the rest of his work. Many people thought their final judgment day had come.

"Over the last ten years, I have committed great sins to the people of the world, and therefore, are bound by good karma. Because there is a cause, there must be a consequence!"

“Today, I will pay the karma I have to man and the world. My soul will turn into a reincarnation cycle so that all the people I have killed can be reborn and have a new life.”

“My blood will nourish the earth so that all living things have sufficient resources to breed, multiply, and grow.”

“My Stage will turn into a new continent so that all creatures have more land for offspring in the future and the world can be more prosperous.”

After this declaration, people watched the gigantic body slowly disintegrate. Many grieving souls flew out from that gigantic body, bowed to it and entered into reincarnation.

The giant blood covered the land. Plants and plants are starting to grow at an alarming rate. Many spiritual ores and veins were created in different parts of the country. Many mountains and rivers grew at a speed visible to the naked eye. Then, that gigantic body turned into an enormous continent and landed somewhere in the ocean.

The few remaining cultivators in the world immediately realized that the world they lived in was beginning to expand and the Heaven and Earth spiritual energy became extremely abundant. Each breath they inhale can absorb a large amount of spiritual energy and they will feel refreshed afterwards. In this environment, even humans would have a long life.

They knew that this world would enter the era of cultivation and exploration. Both cultivators and humans would benefit from this coming era.

After doing all of this, Wang Wei was expelled from the Pagoda Trial. In fact, Wang Wei did not need to do all the extra things in the end.

After waking up at the last moment and preventing himself from killing his mother, he had already passed the test. So why did he do all the things he did?

It was to instill in him the idea of always paying karma. In this cultivation world, karma is something real and achievable. Many cultivators had developed the Dao of Karma, and some had even proclaimed themselves Emperors using the Dao of Karma.

If one day he were to meet one such cultivator, he would have already prepared. If he could also understand the Dao of Karma, it would be even better.
