The Destiny Emperor's Journey

The Destiny Emperor's Journey
19. The price to pay for Power Part 3

After Wang Wei sensed the power, things immediately increased beyond his control. His enemies noticed the dwindling number of prisoners and bandits around the neighborhood.

After investigating, they discovered that the disappearance of these people had something to do with the Wang family. Coupled with the fact that the head of the Wang family suddenly became a strong cultivator, people had already concluded that Wang Wei was involved in some kind of evil cultivation technique.

So, the people cut off Wang Wei's path to find prisoners and bandits; all the prisoners in the state where he lived were moved and all the bandits were massacred.

Wang Wei became furious after hearing this news. Because of this, he became more proactive in his fight against the Royal family and other powerful clans.

Since he could no longer sacrifice these prisoners, he chased after the people from the clan. He believed that since they were his enemies, they all deserved to die. At this moment, he did not need a sacrificial array as a way to increase his strength, all he needed to do was kill someone and he would immediately absorb all their flesh, blood, and soul.

Wang Wei did not care that the majority of the people he killed had white souls. All he cared about was getting stronger. Therefore, he killed more people, and during that process, his soul turned bright red, then black.

It didn't take long for him to become strong enough to be invincible in the kingdom he lived in. So, he slaughtered all the noble families and the royal family.

After that, bloody massacres occurred throughout the cultivation world. The slaughter demon Wang Wei went crazy and started killing all kinds of cultivators. He had no restrictions, whether it was men or women, adults or children: he even killed pregnant women and babies.

All the cultured sects, families, and dynasties formed alliances to stop this demonic madness. Unfortunately for them, Wang Wei always ran away when they surrounded him. When they found him again, he would become stronger and the alliance would suffer heavy losses.

The crusade against the Demon Massacre of Wang Wei lasted for a full ten years. Unfortunately, in the end it was the big demons who won. The majority of the powerful sects were destroyed, the powerful families massacred, and the cultivation dynasties were wiped out from the historical record.

After Wang Wei killed most of the cultivators, he realized that it was not enough for him to reach a state of invincibility: a condition where the fate of everything was controlled by him.

He became obsessed with the situation. Every night, he dreamed of becoming the supreme being that would dominate the entire world. Everyone bowed to him, his words could determine the fate of the entire world.

Unfortunately, when he woke up the next morning, all of his strength was gone. But he believed that one day he would reach such heights. As long as enough sacrifices were made, he would reach such a state one day.

Therefore, he went on an expedition against the commoners of the world. He created a powerful army that was completely controlled by him. In the past ten years, Wang Wei had not only killed the majority of the peasants, but he had managed to kill 3/4 of the world's population of ten billion people.

Over 7.5 Billion people were killed by it. After doing all of this, Wang Wei found himself facing a bottleneck in his cultivation. No matter how many people he killed, his cultivation would not increase in the slightest.

He was so close to his dreamland; the realms that haunted him were like ghosts for the past ten years. All he needs is a little push and he can achieve his ultimate dreams and goals. However, this small push that seemed so close had blocked his path for many years. Worse, he saw no hope.

Until one day while he was meditating, suddenly enlightenment appeared in his mind. To reach the highest realm, he needed to kill something or someone that meant something to him, someone close to him. After that, he would be detached from the world and become completely invincible.

After being enlightened, Wang Wei immediately returned to the Wang Clan's estate. This place was his origin, therefore he protected him during the era of chaos. Because of him, the Wang family had the highest status in the world.

Upon his return to the clan, Wang Wei knew what he had to do to achieve his goal. It was to kill his mother. Because he was the last moor he had in this world. As long as he kills her, she will be free.

He did not care about the other clan members. To him, it was only flesh and blood that could be absorbed at any moment.

Soon, Wang Wei saw her mother in the garden watering the plants. He immediately moved and appeared behind him.

In fact, over the years, he had become cold and extremely indifferent. The fact is that all of his emotions had long since been abandoned except for the desire for power.

However, when he returned here, he could not help but think about the past. After all, this is the place that started it all.

Mother Wang Wei immediately realized someone was behind her. In fact, due to Wang Wei's cultivation realm, it was impossible for ordinary humans to notice him. But he had a strong bloodline relationship with her, so he paid attention to her as she appeared.

Without turning around, he smiled and said: "Wei'er, you're back. I haven't seen you in over ten years. Help your mom water the new flowers I got from the store down the street."

Wang Wei said nothing and walked up to the side of the flower and watered it. The two spent the next two hours in silence while watering the plants.

After watering the plant, Wang Wei's mother-who was named Yu Yan-stared at her son up close for the first time in ten years. He could barely recognize her.

Although his physique had not changed much, he exuded a completely different temperament. His face was completely stiff, as if he had not shown any expression for a long time. His eyes were cold, without any emotion - even as he looked at her.

Yu Yan could smell a strong scent of blood that almost flooded his senses. It takes a little strength and courage not to faint. Moreover, he could see the grievances of all the people he had killed for so many years manifested around him.

They were dark figures like shadows constantly shouting at his son. Their faces showed anger, pain, suffering and kept saying things like "Why did you kill me?", "We have no complaints from each other", "You killed my family".

There were a lot of complaints and he couldn't count them all. However, his son seemed to ignore their cries of suffering and despair.

Yu Yan walked towards Wang Wei, raised his trembling hand and started stroking her hair. He began to reminisce about his son in the past, the memories of when he was young flashed through his head.

Memories of his childhood, memories of his school days, and memories of him turn into a responsible man who is able to take care of the family. His memory stopped ten years ago, in the same garden, when he told him to follow his heart.

He knew this was the starting point of everything. Often she blames herself for what happened to her son. Many times he imagined that things would be different if he gave him different advice. Or maybe, if he convinced her to run away and live an ordinary life.Or maybe, everything was doomed.

During his caress, Wang Wei stood there like a wooden pole, with no expression on his face. Yu Yan did not mind all this. He was in his own world for a while, before regaining consciousness.

He looked at Wang Wei's eyes, smiled brightly and said: "You can do it son. I knew this would happen someday. In the last ten years, not seeing you was one of the greatest joys of my life. Because I know that if you don't come back here, that means there's still hope for you, that means there's still a trace of humanity left in you."

"Unfortunately, fate is playing us all like puppets. I want you to know that I still love you and forgive you. The only regret I have in this life is the fact that in the end I can't save you."

After saying his last word, Yu Yan closed his eyes and waited for his last moment. A smile was still visible on his face: this smile was brilliant, pure, and sincere.

Wang Wei – expressionlessly on his face – took out a long red sword and without hesitation, thrusting it directly into his heart.
