The Crack of a Glass
111. Congratulations ...

After reading the affidavit carefully, Genta immediately stared, his tongue was weak with tears that immediately fell.

Seeing Genta's attitude so surprised, Mr. Surya immediately moved from his seat and approached him.

He patted Genta on the shoulder with pride and congratulated him.

"Congratulations Mr. Genta, you deserve to rise to the rank of one higher level thanks to your hard work and dedication in this union."

Genta stood up after receiving congratulations from his superior. He bowed in disjim and then replied to the words of Mr. Surya.

"Thank you, sir. I was thinking that I would be a peacekeeping force to be sent to Lebanon."

"To put it bluntly, what was on my mind was my wife who was currently heavily pregnant. I can't imagine her giving birth without me. Moreover, this is his first birth," I'm Genta with a quivering voice.

Again, Mr. Surya patted his shoulder and smiled. He understood Genta's feelings at this moment.

"Oh yes, congratulations again. The inauguration ceremony for the promotion will be held in the city of J. Your wife and parents must be proud of you" said Mr. Surya.

"Thank you, sir. Then I say goodbye because the cadets have been waiting for my presence," he said then left the room sir Surya.

"Alhamdulillah .. I never thought if I would move up the ranks. MasyaAllah .. sustenance comes in many years," said Genta with a soft look as he rubbed his chest.

By noon when it was time for the children to go home from school, Azzura seemed to be getting ready to pick up his children.

"Honey, you better let mama pick Devan up," Nadirah bargained.

"Let me, Mah. I'll just take the car" Zu said.

"Mama's afraid if you're up to anything, son," mama worried.

Azzura chuckled then stroked her in-laws arm. "That's okay, Mah. I am also at home. But if Mama wants to come along, too."

"Mama's at home with bi Titin. If Dad were here he would have nagged, "said Miss Nadirah.

"Dad won't know if Mama didn't tell him" Zu chimed in and chuckled. "Yes, I'm leaving first."

Madam Nadirah just nodded and drove her to the front door.

Upon arrival at Devan's school, Azzura immediately joined some of the guardians who were waiting for their children.

With a friendly smile he greeted then sat down in one of the empty places.

"The kids haven't come out yet, Mom?" tanyakanya.

"Maybe in a moment, ma'am," answered one of them.

They continued to chat small with jokes until occasionally the group laughed a little funny.

A few minutes later, the bell rang. Azzura patiently waited for the son to leave his class.

Shortly afterwards, Devan appeared to run a small approach to him while carrying a piece of paper from his picture.

"Yetoo!!" call him with a big smile. "Mother, look at Dev's picture, is it good?" tanyanya then handed the results of his work to the mother.

Azzura immediately grabbed the paper and smiled at the hand painting of his own son.

"MasyaAllah .. very good, dear," he praised as he stroked his head. A hand painting of a fighter plane and a robot.

she was only four years old but her hand painting was great.

Azzura stroked her son's cheek and hugged him for a moment. How much he loved his son even though he was not born from his womb.

Instantly his eyes returned to tears remembering Nina the figure of the late birth mother of Devan.

"Darling," Zu said softly.

"Yes, Mother," said Devan while stroking the mother's distended stomach. Sometimes he laughs to follow where his sister-to-be moves. "Mother, the grandpa is shaky," he said, giggling

Azzura just smiled angrily and took her into the car. Devan obediently according to.

"We'll take a walk before we pick up Ayya's sister, honey. We go to the supermarket first to shop," Zu said and was answered with a nod of his head by Devan.

Azzura started driving to one of the nearby supermarkets. Along the way his son kept him chatting.

Shortly after arriving at the convenience store, Azzura invited the son to shop. He continued to hold Devan's tiny hand and began to walk around.

Unceasingly Azzura smiled at the behavior of the son who looked very enthusiastic to help him. Thought it was enough, he also returned to carrying his shopping cart.

When he was about to step up, someone scolded him and offered help because he could not bear to see Azzura carrying his shopping cart.

"I'm sorry, let me help you with the shopping cart" the man bargained.

"Ah that's okay, it's not heavy, '" Zu politely declined.

"Nothing, let me help you get to the cashier's desk. Kasian's mother," he bargained again while looking at Devan and then stroked his head.

"Mother ... let her help, please cut her throat," Devan said as she stroked her stomach.

Finally Azzura agreed. Shortly after queuing at the cashier table, the man crouched down and stared fixedly at Devan's face. Rubbing her face and hair.

"Can you be friends with me?" ask the man.

Not immediately answering but Devan looked up to look at the mother as if asking for approval. When Azzura nodded, he looked back at the man and nodded his head.

The man immediately hugged her tightly feeling moved. That man who is none other than Johan Devan's real father.

For the first time, he hugged his son. Azzura looked at the two and then smiled.

Not satisfied he hugged Devan, someone approached him and rebuked. "Master?! Are you done?" ask assistant.

Johan did not answer. He was not satisfied to embrace his son. Before he stood up, he kissed the top of the boy's head and stroked his face again.

"Om, yes, if there is time we meet again" he said expectantly. He stood and said goodbye to Azzura.

An hour passed ...

After the self-service Azzura back to continue the journey to Ayya school. When he arrived at the school gate, Ayya seemed to have been waiting.

Shortly after getting into the car the girl immediately protested him for being late to pick her up.

Realizing that he was wrong Azzura immediately apologized to his daughter. After that, he went back on his way home.

Shortly after the vehicle entered the parking lot of the house, her husband's official car was parked on the spot.

"Tumben mas Genta is coming home soon?" muttered Zu after parking his car next to her husband's service car. "It's over, honey. Get down" he asked and opened the car door.

The three approached the door and greeted.

"Assalamu'alaikum."

"Waa'laikumsalam," replied Genta, mama and bi Titin alternately.

Genta immediately approached him after finding Azzura carrying his groceries.

"Get me the groceries." Genta immediately grabbed the groceries and took him to the kitchen followed by Azzura.

"Mas, is the tumben coming home fast?" asked Zu then sat down on the dining table chair.

"It's okay, can't you?!" He felt anxious.

Azzura chuckled and got out of the chair. "Can kok. I'll go to the kids' room first" she said.

"Yes, just go along. Mas also wants to go to the room" said Genta while stroking his stomach.

"Mas have eaten yet?"

"Here, in the office."

By the time the two reached the second floor, Ayya and Devan had already changed clothes. Both of them looked like they were going down to the first floor.

"Honey, you guys eat first, yes" Zu said.

"Yes, Mother!" answer both while racing down.

Azzura only shook his head to see the behavior of his two children.

Shortly after being in the room Genta immediately sat on the side of the bed and then slowly pulled his wife's arm to sit on his lap.

"What the hell is it, Mas?" whispered Zu as she poked her hands against the back of her husband's neck.

"Mas has good news," Genta replied as she stroked Azzura's stomach. "Alhamdulillah .. mas rising in rank."

"Alhamdulillah .. congratulations, Mas. May Mas remain a good, humble and role model for the rest of the country" said Zu sincerely praying for her husband.

"Aamiin, thank you, dear," whispered Genta.

He also recounted the incident at the office when he got the affidavit.

After he finished telling the story, Azzura immediately grabbed him tightly.

"I can't imagine if Mas joined the peacekeeping force, Mas. But even if that happens, as a wife of a state servant, I must be ready if at any time will be left by Mas for the sake of state duty," whispered Zu.

"When I was in high school, my late father was in the squad. His father and his army were sent to Africa at that time. About a year later they returned to Indonesia," concluded Zu.
