The Court of the Girl

The Court of the Girl
Episode 3

Juliette lives in a prosperous neighborhood in Bekasi, close to the villa area.

The intricately carved black wrought iron gate slowly swung open, leading to a winding road that eventually made the car stop smoothly.

While carrying the backpack, Juliette got out of the car. As soon as she entered the house, a waiter leaned over to offer her slippers and took her bag while saying, "Miss, you're home."

Hearing this, Juliette's mother, who was sitting on the sofa chatting with the private teacher, calmly placed the coffee cup she was holding on the table and set her posture, waiting for her daughter to enter.

As Juliette approached the foyer, she saw her mother sitting on the sofa. Juliette respectfully greeted him, saying, "Mother, I'm home."

Juliette's mother, who was almost forty years old and barely had any wrinkles due to good care, exuded a gentle and well-rounded aura. "Julie's home! Comeoverhere. Isn't today the day of your exam announcement? So, how did it go? Did you get an A? Did you get first place?"

Juliette looked down and looked at her mother, and said softly, "No, I ranked second."

Hearing this, Juliette's mother clasped Juliette's hand and fell silent for a moment.

Then, as if losing his strength, he released his grasp and slowly retreated, his once gentle eyebrows and eyes now showing signs of coldness and uneasiness.

His voice pitched a sharp question, "Rank second again! Why is it always second place? Are you really committed to your studies?"

Juliette couldn't rank first, and now she too would face the consequences.

Her father and mother had a common goal: to see Juliette accepted into the University of Jakarta, a prestigious institution, then join the RO Group, to maintain the social status they had earned with great difficulty.

The mother was frustrated and said, "I almost recruited all the private teachers in Jakarta for you, Julie. How much more do you expect from me? Is achieving the highest grade really that hard for you?"

Juliette stood quietly beside the sofa, lowered her head and listened to her mother's nagging without saying a word.

The mother's words did not intimidate Juliette, but instead made the private teacher uncomfortable. Unable to resist, the private teacher stepped forward and said, "Mom, I have a solution. I can get the exam questions first, but..."

The mother's eyes sparkled, but upon seeing the teacher's doubt, she knew what she wanted. He immediately opened his mouth and proposed a very high price.

The teacher got what he wanted and excitedly said, "Mom, may I speak to you personally?"

The mother's anticipation intensified, and she glanced at Juliette before resolutely ordering, "Go and get on your knees."

Juliette nodded, obediently saying, "Yes."

This wasn't the first time Juliette had knelt down, and she knew where she should kneel. Slowly he walked to the right side of the window and knelt down.

She hoped her school uniform was a long skirt and passed her knees. Juliette's knees opened, and the pebble beneath them pierced with pain.

However, no matter how painful it was, it could not compare to the pain he had experienced in his previous life when he jumped off the roof of his school.

As he knelt there, footsteps rang up the spiral staircase behind him. They stopped, and Juliette's father stared at Juliette's kneeling figure from above.

He spoke softly, "Julie, get into the study."

Juliette replied, "Yes, Dad."

He lowered his raised hand to the ground to support himself.

His knees were numb from kneeling, and he tripped while standing. His snow-white knees were filled with red marks from the rocks, looking horrid.

Juliette clung to the ladder fence and slowly climbed the stairs.

Once inside, he subconsciously closed the door behind him. Juliette's father stood behind her, arranging the documents on the table. "Julie, you got second place again this time?"

His voice was calm, hiding any sense of excitement or anger.

Juliette muttered in response.

With her back still turned, Juliette's father continued to work with her hands while asking, "What about Xeldous, the boy?"

Juliette lowered her gaze. "He got third place."

"Julie, even though you are better than Xeldous, you should know that only rank one can enter the University of Jakarta. Don't let me down."

He spoke in a flat tone, not like he was communicating with his daughter, but more like he was giving a task to his subordinates.

"I'll try my best, Dad."

Juliette's father arranged the reports neatly on the table, putting them all in a black folder. He turned around and handed it to Juliette. "Julie, take this funding application form to Xeldous's house."

Juliette received with both hands. "Good, Dad."

Juliette's father looked at Juliette deeply and suddenly smiled. Truly, she was his most observant and understanding daughter.

"All right, let's get it together."

The relationship between Juliette's father and Xeldous's father is very strained.

They each stood on the side of the chairman and president, naturally in opposite positions.

Although their outer styles are different, both are vindictive and competitive individuals.

It was not enough for them to defeat each other; their children also had to outperform each other, leading to a rivalry between Juliette and Xeldous.

Last week, Juliette's father and Xeldous's father accompanied the chairman on golf.

The chairman's intention was to weaken his own son's spirit, but he couldn't publicly humiliate his son.

Therefore, he had to resort to means of weakening Xeldous's father, who was standing by his son's side.

Xeldous's father was unskilled in golf and completely helpless against Juliette's father, so he lost his authority in front of his subordinates.

Juliette says she wants to give Xeldous's father a set of golf clubs as a birthday present. Although it seemed like it was a gift, in fact the goal was to hurt Xeldous's father's pride.

Juliette's father is happy and proud to have raised a smart, beautiful, and cunning daughter with his own hands.

Things she can't do, Julie can take care of. After all, he was young, and every mistake he made could be easily understood because of his age.

Holding the map in her arms, Juliette asked gently, "Dad, is there anything else I need to do? Otherwise, I'll go deliver these documents to Uncle Neo."

Juliette's father thought for a moment and asked, "Have you been getting closer to Mr. Awke lately?"

Awke is the second son of the president of the RO Group, a real descendant of the business elite. She also attended Hope High School, but not in the same class as Juliette.

Juliette's father had great respect for the Sitanggang family, but he kept a distance attitude. "I didn't go to school in the same class as Awke, so I rarely met him. If we meet, I'll just say hello, but I won't get close to her."

Juliette's father's attention continues to be on Juliette. "Julie, you have to build a good relationship with Mr. Awke."

Juliette's father was well aware of her current position. He was only loyal to the Chairman, and to the President, he was a thorn in his side.

Although the Chairman and the President continued to feud, he only had one son. In the end, he will hand over his position and power to the President.

His own fate awaits him, that of being killed. However, he still has to protect Julie in order to get into the RO power circle.

Only if he can win Awke's heart will he be able to enter the RO power circle, serve alongside the new Chairman, and maintain Juliette's current family status.

No matter what Juliette's father said, Juliette obediently agreed to it. In front of her Father and Mother, she was the most obedient daughter in the world, because she still did not have the power to go against her father's words.

Juliette went back to her room to pick up her set of golf equipment. While not entirely suitable for playing golf, it would be perfect for hitting someone, causing more pain.

Then, he opened his backpack and took out his report card, leveling it and plugging it into the second page of the map.

Hanging the golf bag on his shoulder, he slowly descended down towards the Xeldous house.

High-ranking core members of the RO group gathered in the nearby villa area, which was near Xeldous's house and Juliette's family.

On the other hand, the atmosphere in the Xeldous house was a long-awaited relief, as Xeldous reached second grade, eventually surpassing Juliette.

This made Xeldous's father feel jaya and very happy.

Xeldous's father rarely smiled, and this sight made Xeldous feel restless and extremely happy.

Although his values were falsified and false, his father's pride and sincere sense of happiness were real. He should have agreed with Martius' earlier proposal, which was to forge his value.

With a glass of wine in one hand and a Xeldous report card in the other, Xeldous's father checked carefully, saying, "It's good, my son. Finally beating that bad girl, Juliette, gave me a chance to stick my head out high. Is there a gift you want? I will fulfill your wish."

"I don't want anything, Dad. I'm gonna keep working hard and smash Juliette under my feet."

Xeldous's father patted her on the shoulder in nostalgia, saying, "Right, my son."

The family was enjoying their meal joyfully when a waiter interfered, telling them that Juliette had arrived.

Xeldous's father put down the knife and fork, rubbed his mouth with a handkerchief, saying, "Let him in."

She had not expected Juliette to come today and made herself even more humiliated.
