Martius and his companions were sitting on the long steps to the right, they were talking. He suddenly saw Juliette and Jordan talking.
Jordan stood while Juliette sat down, tilting her head slightly to look at Jordan from below.
For some reason, Martius felt that this scene was very striking, as if the Jordan was provoking him.
Didn't he warn the Jordan to stay away from Juliette?
Martius stretched out his hand, took the ball into his arms, standing with a dark face. He raised his hand and aimed at the Jordan, then violently threw it.
The power of the throw was considerable, and the ball spun rapidly, splitting the air as it flew towards Jordan.
At a glance, Juliette grabs Jordan's hand, forcefully pulling it towards her, making Jordan sit suddenly next to her on the steps.
Jordan was surprised, he was pulled by Juliette and sat down on the steps. Confused, the next second he saw the ball Martius threw passing so close to his head.
Martius' expression grew even more tense after witnessing this scene.
Juliette got up, stepped on her shoes, briefly revealing her white, slender ankles.
He walked towards the ball, bowed slowly to pick it up, and looked at Martius in a calm voice, "Martius, the attack from behind is lowly."
He raised his hand and threw the ball back, without expending much energy.
Martius caught him steadily and approached him, crossing his eyebrows while holding back his anger, mocking, "Low me? Juliette, aren't you inferior to hanging out with charity cases?"
After saying his words, Martius locked his sharp gaze on the Jordan standing behind Juliette, and asked, "All right?"
Martius' friend snorted disapprovingly, "Juliette, don't forget, Jordan is our slave. Is it wrong for Martius to ask him to take water when he is thirsty?"
Juliette was not bothered by Martius' words. He turned around, bent over, picked up the water bottle he had just drunk, and placed it under the stairs.
He unscrewed the bottle and gave it to Martius, saying, "You're thirsty, right? Drink."
If the water bottle is still sealed, it should be full so that nothing will be reduced. However, there now seems to be some missing, clearly indicating that the water was already drunk.
Martius looked at Juliette, his face flushed starting from her neck. On one hand, she felt ashamed that Juliette offered her the water she had just drunk.
On the other hand, he was angry that he was openly fighting against himself to protect the Jordan.
With his left hand holding the ball, Martius ferociously kicked the water bottle from Juliette's hand and hit the ball hard to the ground.
He turned around with a dead red face and left.
Martius' friend glanced meaningfully at Juliette, then followed her.
Jordan, who was standing behind Juliette, looked at the girl's tough figure, his feelings mixed.
He constantly reminded himself not to let his guard down, so as not to be fooled by the gentle demeanor and friendly-looking attitude from him.
But, he could not control his beating heart for the first time, feeling an unusual loss of control in his life.
Jordan asked gently, "Why did you do it?"
Juliette turned around and spoke softly, "Aren't we in agreement that I'll protect you?"
...
In the classroom,
Martius is incensed by Juliette's actions, with no desire to continue his physical education studies.
He immediately took a shower and returned early, whereas Xeldous was unwilling to bother coming, choosing to focus on the lesson.
Xeldous lowered his head, focused on solving matters, while Martius stood next to him furrowing his brows and grumbling complaining about Juliette.
He was not as impulsive and angry as Martius; he almost immediately understood the crux of the matter.
"People who haven't spoken for two years suddenly stand together and have a conversation, don't you feel there's a reason behind it?" Martius.
Xeldous thought as he watched Martius leave. To be honest, he felt that Martius had behaved strangely lately.
Her views on Juliette became more frequent, and her emotions grew more volatile each time Juliette's name was mentioned - quite different from her habits.
At that time, Jordan returned. He arrived earlier than Martius, and with Martius gone, the classroom was empty except for Xeldous.
Xeldous was in the process of solving the problem when suddenly a shadow overshadowed him, blocking his view. He held a pen and slowly raised his head to look at Jordan.
The Jordan gave him water, asking, "Do you drink?"
Xeldous paused for a moment and then, as if recalling something, laughed cynically, his gaze scorned the cheap water bottle in Jordan's hands. "You? My secret friend?" taunted.
Jordan wasn't convoluted, "Xeldous, will you give me a high score in the end-of-month evaluation?"
Xeldous fell silent and coldly replied, "Why should you give a high score? What can you do for me?"
Jordan put his thin lips together, first putting a water bottle on the edge of the table, then putting his book on the table.
He placed his hand on it and looked straight at Xeldous's eyes.
"This," he said.
Xeldous lowered his eyelids and looked at the notebook. There was no mark on the cover, and it felt empty without any texture. He looked at Jordan and watched him. "This what?"
The voice of Jordan was indifferent. "It's something that can help you beat Juliette. Aren't you tired of losing to him? This should be enough for you to give me a high score in the end-of-month evaluation."
Hearing that, Xeldous raised his hand and opened his notebook.
The writing inside is neat and clear. It was a compilation of previous level test questions from the hope school, including common mistakes, different question traps, and prediction questions for the next level test.
The Jordan's resolute and cunning move did indeed cause Xeldous to be shocked.
He did not directly answer Jordan's question, but instead slowly folded his hands on his chest and asked with interest, "Juliette is your secret friend, right? Does he know? While he was protecting you, you treated him like this?"
Jordan maintained a calm expression. "That's between Juliette and me. What about this deal?"
Xeldous raised an eyebrow and his voice sounded slightly smiling. "This book is not enough. I want you to give Juliette the lowest score in the month-end evaluation."
Without hesitation, the Jordan replied with determination, "Deal."
--
At this moment, Juliette was watering the plants when someone jumped over the side wall and landed smoothly on the ground. When the person lifted his head and looked at Juliette, he instantly froze in shock.
Martius' expression turned grim at the thought of a physical education class. She had no desire to talk to Juliette, let alone greet her.
As she lifted her leg to leave, Juliette slowly raised her hand and pointed the sprinkler hose at him.
Scattered streams of water drenched him, landing on his disheveled, uniform black hair, and arms, shivering him to the bone.
Martius took two steps back to avoid the water, his eyebrows raised, and the vexation strengthened. "Juliette, what's wrong with you!"
Juliette's voice remained calm. "Why are you angry with me? It's time for afternoon class, and I'm just helping you find an excuse to be late."
Martius growled in annoyance. "Juliette, lately you've been too brash, haven't you?"
Looking at the enraged Martius, Juliette still maintained a calm expression, turned off the water button, and approached him with a hose weapon in her hand. "I'm sorry. If you're so angry, you can flush me back."
While saying so, he gave the hose he had used to flush water to her.
Martius felt provoked. Blood vessels throbbed on her forehead as she gritted her teeth and took out a few words, "Juliette, do you think I don't dare?"
Juliette lowered her head and pulled Martius' hand apart her fingers and placed a hose in her grasp.
Martius was furious, his rationality drowned out by the flames burning within him. He pressed a button, and the water burst out strongly, dousing Juliette.
Her uniform was attached to her body, wet covered in water, revealing simple and flowerless undergarments. Wet hair stuck to her cheeks, and water droplets adorned her bright face.
In an instant, the burning anger in Martius was extinguished completely. His throat felt dry and suffocated as he turned off the button and tightly held the hose in his hand.
Juliette approached him, whispering softly in his ear, "Isn't my appearance now, looking devoid of spirit and just focused on learning, making me look more attractive?"
Martius' face flushed red, starting from his neck and creeping into his cheeks. The roots of his ears were so red that it looked like they were about to bleed.
Increasingly embarrassed, he became even more enraged, and forcefully pushed Juliette away, cracking in his teeth while cursing, "Crazy!"
And with that, he fled without looking.
