The Court of the Girl

The Court of the Girl
Episode 1's

Jakarta, Indonesia - High School Hope

Harapan High School, supported by the RO Group, is an elite private high school whose students are dominated by the children of wealthy and elite conglomerates.

Located in the center of Jakarta, the school is housed on a large plot of land and has European-style architecture with red bricks and greenery, giving a deep historical and sacred feel.

The school building consists of four floors, with class names 3-1.

Even though the classroom bell had rung, the classroom remained noisy and chaotic. The students were involved in various activities - some were reading, some were playing games, some were bully, and some were victims of the bullying.

In the back row of the classroom, a stunning girl was staring at another girl from above, holding the girl's chin with a smile on her face. Her sharp nails almost scratched into the girl's skin, leaving a distinctly red mark.

This kind of oppression is common in Hope High School until it seems to be as common as breathing.

In this school, where class divisions apply as well, there are many extraordinary people, yet of them many are indifferent, ignoring the rules and showing only a little mercy.

The same indifference occurs inside classrooms, where students pretend not to see the bullying going on in the back row, focusing on their own affairs.

Among these students, Juliette, who was sitting in the middle row, remained calm and in control. Dressed in the Hope High School uniform, she has long black curly hair and unraveled bangs, with light and transparent skin like meticulously groomed camellias, looking fragile and tender.

He sat up straight in his chair, ignoring the suppression, and read the pages of a collection of poems that turned slightly yellow with time.

Juliette read diligently, she picked up the pen placed on the edge of her desk, grasping it carefully using her slender white hand. Slowly, he took the pen to the bottom right corner of the book page and began to write, the writing clear and neat.

[Trial Test Begins]

The second bell rang for class, and the teacher opened the door holding a folder as he walked slowly to the front of the classroom. He looked at the chaotic scene below without showing his displeasure on his face, even though he felt it in his heart.

His eyes looked down, first landing on a messy figure belonging to Delly.

Instead of asking with attention or anger, the teacher silently turned his gaze away, ignoring was the best solution.

He can't come face-to-face with Delly. If her eyes convey a message that makes her feel protected, maybe Delly will stand up and accuse her while crying, then a lot of trouble will occur.

As a teacher who had been teaching at Hope High School for so many years, how could he not know what was going on? He was even very aware of the situation.

Delly has been bullied by Teddy and his gang for a long time.

A month of torture and abuse has opened Delly's eyes to the cruel reality that no one can save her.

Unless he goes abroad or transfers to a school away from Jakarta, he has to struggle with his current circumstances. However, with his father arrested and all their assets seized, his financial situation was far from enough to send him to study abroad.

He also did not want to study in a place far from Jakarta. He could only endure his weakness until he could enter university.

Looking at his circumstances, it was only natural that he would not put hope in a teacher without strength, someone who had been honed end-to-end by society. He did not even raise his head, let alone notice the teacher's hurried change of view from the front of the classroom.

The guru's gentle heart and compassion were only temporary, there was little he could do, and he was helpless. He did not even have the courage to stand up because the moment he stood up, it meant that he was challenging the class strata as well as the power of Hope High School. He could not interfere in the affairs of others and did not dare to do so.

Standing in front of the class, she opened a folder containing the results of last week's exam. After looking at it for a while, he clapped his hands and said, "Calm down, everyone!"

After the teacher's voice subsided, a male disciple who sat to the left of Juliette and slightly in front stood up. He wore a cheap hearing aid on his right ear and had a calm and indifferent expression. His voice was clear and sharp as he greeted, "Stand up!"

Jordan is the class president, and as per ethics, after he gives his greetings, the students should respond in unison. However, at this moment, silence shrouded the class. No one responded, an insult that occurred in silence.

Scenes like this happen every day. The Jordan seems unaffected, maintaining a statue-like calm in the church that endures all difficulties.

Juliette closes her book of poetry and sees the Jordan. His gaze was fixed on the hand of the Jordan hanging by his side, the throbbing veins on the back of his white hand, a scene of patience.

He slightly raised his eyebrows. Wasn't he used to these embarrassing scenes?

The teacher liked the Jordan and signaled for him to sit down.

Jordan slowly sat down but quickly stood back up.

Because the teacher was announcing the results of last week's proficiency exam, and he got the highest score.

Jordan has weak hearing in his right ear and needs to wear a hearing aid. After sitting down, he seemed to be silent in thought. It took the teacher two tries for Jordan to hear his name called, and he stood up and walked to the front of the class.

The teacher was proud of Jordan, because he himself came from a humble family background and managed to reach his current position through his hard work, crossing the boundaries of social class.

In the strict and class-structured Harapan High School environment, Jordan manages to maintain top grades, surpassing wealthy heirs and elite children who demean others. His nature, talent, and effort were all incomparable.

He believed Jordan had the ability to change his life situation, break through class boundaries, and rise drastically within the social class, at least escaping humiliating poverty at this time was not a problem.

At Hope High School, the focus of attention on the poor is always on the minority, as more students are inheritors of rich families and elite children.

Therefore, the purpose of education always guides the decency and ethics of youth as its vision of mission. However, a chaotic conglomerate system and deviant parenting has damaged them from within.

Their superiority was undeniable, but it could not erase the fact that they were basically self-serving individuals. They are haughty, disregarding rules, indifferent, and lacking compassion.

Jordan trampled them, just as he, who came from a similar background, trampled those upper classes. The sensation of superiority is reciprocal.

The teacher's face showed a pleased expression, slightly bowed to Jordan's right ear, patted her on the shoulder, and spoke softly but proudly, "You are again first rank, Jordan."

Jordan's face showed no emotion, as he expected. He did not look haughty or humble, instead, he looked indifferent.

Respectfully, he nodded to the teacher while receiving the report card with both hands.

Jordan walked back to his seat, glancing slowly at Juliette.

The young girl placed her cheek over her hand, staring blankly at the collection of poems on her desk. He sat there, doing nothing, but having a charming touch.

He had also been deceived by this mask, thinking that he was different from that haughty and disgusting rich descendant.

However, upon taking a closer look, he realized that he was basically no different from those individuals. He only hid a disgusting quality behind a softer and pitiful character.

In his heart, he still lacked empathy, a top-class individual. This changed her perspective on Juliette.

He began to underestimate her from a higher position.

As of this moment, he was standing while the woman was seated, she had reached the first rank, whereas she had yet to. It was like looking from top to bottom.

Jordan enjoyed this feeling, but he could only feel it silently, like a worm crawling in the dark mud. At the brief moment when Juliette was as if sensing her presence and glancing towards her, she quickly hid the emotions in her eyes, calmly avoiding her gaze, pretending as if nothing had happened.
