Dean closed his eyes. He was waiting for what the woman he married would do. They usually do the same for other women. Suddenly he felt the hand loosening. Wait, why stop? He tried to open his eyes slowly. She saw Jessy stay away from her.
"Gdgt.." Jessy tried to hold back her laughter. He laughed unbearably. "What are you trying to think, Dean? Why did you close your eyes? I'm just teasing you.." he exclaimed as he retreated backwards.
Dean was embarrassed. This time he was played like that. He turned his body backwards. "I thought you'd give me a wedding present. Don't tease me anymore. You know I'm a grown man."
"You angry? What do you think I'm gonna do?" ask Jessy. "I was just following the scene of the movie Maid in Manhattan. You know that, don't you? The film is about a mother with one child who comes to Manhattan for work, then suddenly her mother disguised as... "
"Enough. I-i know. That's an old movie." Dean cut it. "You said you never liked movies. Why are you watching that movie? What about Death? Why don't you ever watch it?" asked Dean in a annoyed tone.
"It's a romantic movie, Dean. I do like him. I don't like Death movies. It's a horror movie. I'm scared." Jessy explained.
"Stay away. That means you've seen a movie" Dean said.
"I watched it when I was a kid. Everyone watches it on Valentine's Day. But that was before. All the school friends and the foundation talked about it. I also came to imagine that one day I would find such a handsome man." replied Jessy innocently.
"For that you came to New York? Inspired by that movie?"
"That sounds ridiculous, I came to New York to earn money. If I meet a handsome guy, it's just a little luck. I never imagined that. I once met with one of the consumers at the laundry Mrs. Patties. He's very handsome. We had a long chat. But that was only once. Only when he comes. I think it's a little lucky."
Dean approached Jessy and stood in front of her. "Am I not handsome?" dean asked while looking at him sharply.
Jessy nervous. He saw Dean curling his body while looking at him. Anyone who became him would melt when stared at by a handsome man like Dean. She looked to the side. "You are.you are handsome but you have many women around you. You.you hurt women a lot." she said nervously.
"That's because they're after me. Look at me, Jessy. You shy?" ask Dean.
"No, I'm telling the truth."protest Jessy. He held his hands on each side of the bed. He's really nervous. Dean always kissed her all of a sudden. It's not ready yet. But this time he teased her. Is Dean going to do it again?
Jessy looked at Dean. His cheeks began to glow red. He felt ashamed.
"I think I'm starting to like you." whispered Dean. Both hands pushed Jessy's body until she lay on the bed. He looks very nervous. Dean lowered his face. First the woman in front of him was teasing him, this time he would tease her. But looking at his innocent face, he couldn't bear to not kiss her.
No, I like it too. Any woman will not stand close to the handsome man who continues to tease her. Jessy closed her eyes when Dean started kissing her. He felt both hands holding his head. He was forced to touch the back of the man's field. Suddenly it stopped. He looked at her with a smile.
"I like you because I feel sorry for you" Dean said, touching Jessy's trembling lips.
Jessy surprised. Poor fellow? Those words were what he hated the most to date. When Dean lowered his face again, he held the man's chest with both hands. The man looked surprised.
"Enough. Wake up." Jessy said seriously.
Dean was confused when he saw Jessy's face change.
Jessy got up and walked to the couch. He sat down holding hands. He accepts if Dean likes him. Not love him. There was no way he could love her so quickly. He likes her as much as he likes other women who tease her. Okay, he accepted it. That's only partly the consequence of this marriage. Because according to Anastasia, Dean was a man who could not possibly resist his passion when he was with her. All normal guys are like that. But if Dean pity her? He's disappointed. He lowered his head.
"Why? You mad at me? I said the wrong thing?" asked Dean who was sitting next to him. He held her hand.
"You hurt me with your words, Dean. You pity me. Wh why? I don't need to be pitied. You make me feel pathetic. I accepted all the journeys of my life. Living without parents, living in an apartment you think is slum and working in a laundry place. But I don't think it's sad. I am thankful that I can continue my life. I'm an independent woman and forever will be like that."
"I'm sorry.."
Jessy let go of her hand. "I want to be alone" he said.
Dean stands. "Alright, forgive me" he said as he walked to the door. She opened it and looked at Jessy. The woman remained on the sofa without moving. Dean regretted saying it. He closed the door and stood for a while. Before they finally leave their room.
