The Angel Behind the Veil

The Angel Behind the Veil
Next Owner

The next morning, Arya drove Cantika to the hospital.

"Assalamualaikum. How's dad doing? sorry Cantika just met dad." Cantika greeted Mr. Rohim and sat next to him.

"Vaalaikumsalam. Thank God you are much better now. How are your own circumstances? did you get hurt by that bastard Remon?" Mr. Rohim painstakingly woke up helped by Cantika leaning on his bed. He is furious with Remon after Arya tells him about the incident last night by phone.

"No father, thank God for protecting me and sending my husband to save me at the right time." Cantika said as she glanced at Arya who was beside her.

Mr. Rohim was silent for a moment as if thinking of something.

"Son, I'd actually like to say something, but I don't know if you'd agree or not." Mr. Rohim said to Cantika.

"What's the matter dad? do not hesitate to Cantika, just say what you want to say, as long as it is not contrary to religion then Cantika must listen to it." Cantika said sure.

"Dad also found out about the ring before, and that was the main reason I left your mother first." Mr. Rohim said, recalling the incident several years ago, when he asked Cantika's mother to throw the ring and choose between the ring or himself, but Cantika's mother still chose to maintain the ring from her late father rather than Mr. Rohim.

"But for what reason did the mother retain the ring while the mother also never wore it at all for the usefulness of the ring." Think Cantika. Everyone knew the usefulness of the ring was to make its owner a glorified ruler like a god, but Cantika's mother did not wear it and just lived a simple life like everyone else.

"And why did you have to leave that ring to your mother? is there an uncle of a boy who is usually more entitled to inherit something from his parents than a daughter?" Ask Cantika again.

"Your mother is just following her family's tradition, whoever is descended from the ring's owner, then she's responsible for the ring. Your mother has no grand ambitions to be the ruler of the puja, but she must keep the ring until it finds its next owner. And you're supposed to be the owner of that ring right now." Mr. Rohim said with a fear of his heart, he was afraid if only his daughter was tempted by the power that the ring had.

"And as for your uncle Mordan, he has no right to inherit the ring, because he's just your grandfather's adopted son. Your grandfather accidentally sent Mordan to school overseas so that Mordan wouldn't know about the ring, and Mordan only came back when he heard your grandfather died, so he didn't know anything about the ring."

"So, what do I do now?" Cantika asked, she was very confused at the moment, she was just like her mother, not wanting the ring, but what she had to do, she said, if you keep the ring, there will be something like last night.

"Dad doesn't know either, as far as father's knows the ring can't be destroyed." Said Mr. Rohim.

"But you can keep the ring in a place no one can find?" Continue Mr. Rohim.

"Where?" Ask Cantika.

"Looked grandpa. No one would have guessed if the ring was there, and even if it did, he wouldn't have been able to retrieve it because your grandfather's grave had been heavily guarded by his loyal followers until now."

"Yes dad, I've tried but I can't." Cantika was really confused right now, why should there be such a ring in this world?

Arya was only a listener at this time, nor did she know anything about the ring anymore.

In the afternoon, because Mr. Rohim's condition recovered quickly, then he was allowed to go home.

"Dad why not just stay with us? I'm so worried about you being alone here."

Cantika has invited Mr. Rohim back to his house, but Mr. Rohim continues to refuse. Mr. Rohim chose to stay in his own home.

"Dad's healthy, you don't have to worry about dad." Said Mr. Rohim.
