Tales Of Schaduw: The Half - Elf

Tales Of Schaduw: The Half - Elf
Ch. 94 – Cooking Skill

“Already, hurry up to cook so we can continue our other tasks.” Grandpa Hork's fanning his fingers kicked me out.

Alright I'll show him how to roast good and true river fish.

I was quite excited this time, because from childhood I always played in the river and after that I must have burned fish that I managed to get before.

At that time, I often experimented on how to cook fresh fish and directly cook it around the habitat.

Surely the first thing I did was to clean all the scales of the fish using my splint, after splitting the stomach of the fish to remove all the contents of his stomach.

I've processed freshwater fish several times, but when I cook it directly without throwing the entire stomach will appear bitter taste that will destroy your taste senses.

Although the fish is still edible, but to me the contents of the fish stomach is a stain that destroys all flavors when eating the fish.

Continue to the next stage that is splitting the fish into two parts but still fused the two parts are still fused on the back of the fish.

I had the head of the fish first, for I did not like the head very much.

Splitting it into two parts is to aim to take the usual thorns, the thorn can sometimes disturb you when you eat well again.

So I have to get rid of him before he can ruin my ‘mood’ meal.

After feeling enough to process the fish, the next is to prepare equipment for cooking.

If you want to get maximum results, you certainly do not forget other important things in a work or creation.

In addition to good materials, and the ability to process them well, you must also have equipment that can support all of them.

Unfortunately, I am not currently in the kitchen or carrying any special cooking equipment.

I also leave my processing first to Grandpa Hork. I wrapped it in fairly wide leaves, before I had also applied fine salt all over the surface of the leaves.

It seems strange indeed, because what I should have done was to sprinkle the salt on the meat of the fish.

After that I immediately looked for another leaf, this time it should be dried leaves, besides that I also need a twig that has a shape like a cupite.

It didn't take long to find all that stuff. Grandpa Hork's grilled fish seemed to have been charred all over, but it wasn't fully ripe yet.

Indeed on the outside looks charred, unfortunately the charred ones are just the scales. Even the deepest part of the fish meat will still be very raw.

He roasted it for almost ten minutes. With all this I'll be ready to bake.

First of all from the dried leaves I got. I removed the leaf side and only needed a leaf bone which I would use as a leaf binder which I had smeared with fine salt.

This is so that the leaves do not come off when baked and continue to stick with the fish so that the salt content and chlorophyll content of the leaves can blend perfectly with the oil produced by the fish.

So that it raises amazingly delicious. Although it only requires simple ingredients.

Next there is a very important process, which is baking.

From here I began by placing fish wrapped in leaves on the branches that I had arranged in such a way as a grill.

If it is enough I immediately put it on the fireplace and turn it over when the part of the leaf exposed to the fire has started to brown.

I turned it so that the other parts also cook and ripen evenly.

“Hahaha, you're quite deft as well when it comes to cooking. But my fish will soon be finished,” said Grandpa Hork showing off his grilled fish that already looks mature.

Unfortunately he still let the scales, although there are some who have fallen because they are completely charred and unable to stick anymore in the body of the fish.

If mine too will soon be ripe. Even if I just burn it for a while.

But with this level of maturity will further unite all the components and create delicious food.

“I'm done!” I said breaking Grandpa Hork's daydreams that repeatedly grilled his fish again because when he lifted and checked the meat of the inner fish that did not ripen.

Grandpa Hork seemed annoyed to see me lift the cuisine first from him. I've eliminated it before, if cooking with that method is very old-fashioned.

It certainly takes a relatively long time. Instead of being full quickly, you will actually wait longer for your cooking to really mature perfectly.

Without much ado I immediately moved my shoulder to the top of the wider leaves.

The leaves are only used as a base, so that my cooking is not contaminated by the ground. I can't wait to open it.

After I felt enough, I opened it slowly. The smoke billowed violently as I opened the leaves lining the grilled fish on both sides simultaneously.

“Excellent!” I cried when I realized my cooking was really amazing.

Although using makeshift tools, but I did not expect the results were even far from my expectations.

“Wait! How can you cook such a sumptuous dish even if you only use fish in the river!” it was Grandpa Hork who hurriedly came to me.

He was tired of waiting for his fish to ripen perfectly. He seemed to be tempted by my grilled fish which gave off a fragrant aroma, as well as a shimmering brown color.

Who would not be tempted by the appearance of such food. Luxury cooking tub.

This is one of my other abilities, namely cooking skills.
