Tales Of Schaduw: The Half - Elf

Tales Of Schaduw: The Half - Elf
Ch. 89 – Forward?

“NO!” my answer was short of refusing his request.

“Are you scared?” asked Grandpa Hork in a tone that implied that he was testing or maybe mocking me.

“Not that I'm afraid, but..” I can't continue my words.

Although I do not want to use my abilities, but the ability will be active on its own without having to wait for the approval of its users.

The energy I felt must have come suddenly and it must have come to me without me knowing it before.

“... unfortunately I feel nothing inside,” I continued.

“Which may be, you must be lying,” replied Grandpa Hork rejecting my excuse rawly.

“Enough! You guys don't do unnecessary things anymore.” Hans stopped me before I replied to Grandpa Hork's unsubstantiated remarks.

“Abviously I am also quite curious about what is in there, but it is not a priority for us at this time,” added Hans looking at the faces of the two of us in turn.

“I emphasize once again, our initial goal is to get out of the forest and most importantly I want all of us safe, so you guys don't do unnecessary things.” Hans finished his words.

He reminded us back, if our goal was not to enter the cave we just found.

“Is there anything you want to say again, Grandpa Hork?” ask me to glance at him.

He glared when he heard my question, without a word coming out of his wrinkled mouth.

It seemed that he was still not satisfied with Hans' decision, but how else was the consideration given by Hans indeed correct.

We can't take any more goals while our main goals aren't necessarily fully successful.

“Sorry doesn't mean I'm against you Kek,” Hans said when he passed directly with Grandpa Hork.

“Actually I am the one who is negligent with my duties, please forgive this old man." Grandpa Hork's voice sounded soft, unable to even break the silence.

"A wise decision, you are more concerned with the goals and safety of your team than having to sacrifice them for being tempted by sheer selfishness,” he added, showing off his smile.

“It looks like soon I will find the student I have been looking for all this time,” muttered Grandpa Hork while leaving us both.

Nevertheless he left by leaving his thumbs upside down at me.

Pretty impressive. Apparently he still holds a grudge against me.

So do I who still have a million questions I want to ask her.

“You can tell me. Trust me,” Hans whispered as our eyes looked at each other.

I then approached him.

“Although I rejected you I must have continued to force me. You think I don't know if your curiosity is much worse than Grandpa Hork,” I said as I took a sitting position while observing deep into the cave.

Hans sat down and was ready to hear all my explanations.

He seemed so enthusiastic with sparkling eyes, like a little boy who was hearing the story of a legend told by a grandfather.

“So?” he said opening the conversation, he stuck out his leg and rubbed his body on a nearby tree.

“Honestly I do not feel anything in it, nor do I currently around us feel little energy or the aura of monsters," I answered looking at what was in the cave.

“At least you don't feel anything in it?” hans asked curiously.

“That's all I felt, even I thought there was no sign of life,” I replied without covering up a single truth.

“Any.” Just one word I could hear from him, that word was so firm yet dense.

“There's something else that bothers you?” This time it was my turn to ask him.

“Do you not feel strange..” He looked at me sharply.

I nodded, though I did not know about everything that was on his mind.

“Before I broke up you guys, I had a chance to check the ground near the river's downstream. I found some footprints leading into the cave, and I didn't know what monster footprints were. Although some are missing due to being swept away by water, but I'm pretty sure if..” For a moment Hans was silent, digesting a lost word.

“I'm sure if the footprints were not from ordinary monsters, they were large enough for the size of a monster in general. Maybe it's advanced class,” he continued, he lowered his voice in the last sentence.

“Forward? Are you sure? Even we ourselves do not know how the shape and size of the Forward itself,” looks me doubt it.

“The reality is so, but I am very confident in my speculations,” he assures me.

I asked again about the next plan.

But he remained in the initial decision, which is to continue the journey, this cave he may be able to enter whenever he wants.

That was if he managed to reach the capital safely and again got the title of disciple with the number one predicate.

It was not impossible for him to return to the Kingdom of Laiquendi and fulfill his wish. Of course that's the answer I expect from him, Hans.
