Bandung, November 30, 2016
The wind blows with the falling rain. For the umpteenth time, it rained again in the twilight sky. Many people flocked to save themselves, from the rain that seemed to be a threat.
Same with Adyra Febiana. Hot chocolate fan girl who likes to enjoy the cool rain. He thought rain was life. Each drop of rainwater, bringing cool air. The faint-sounding gurgling, made the atmosphere so calm.
Chilly.
The girl slightly pulled the arm of her peach sweater, covering a part of her palm. A cup of hot chocolate accompanied him to enjoy the rain in Bandung. This was the first time he had set foot in this city of flowers.
February, 14th 2012 (Adyra's Birthday)
The girl stared at a crumpled photograph of herself with a woman holding her in her arms with a smile that never lost framing her beautiful face. Behind the photo was her name, which was spiked with the day of her birth, because the photo was taken when Adyra was 14 years old. A speck of clear liquid flowed at a glance from the corner of his eye. I don't know how many times he cried every time he saw that picture. She knew that even if she cried for a thousand times, her mother could never come back. It will never be able to hold it again. And there would be no way to feel the finger wiping away her tears as she cried like now.
The accident incident 2 years ago made Alsa-Mama claimed his life at that time. It is hard to describe his feelings at this time. She knew that her mother would at least love to see her cry and regret the fate God gave her. But, it is not his wish if his tears always flow by themselves every time he remembers his late mother.
"There is no happiness in Bandung as Mama said."
The girl closed her eyes.
"And there will never be happiness, as long as there are still regrets stored."
Adyra was surprised when she heard someone who seemed to answer her sentence. The man stood in front of the girl, carrying a cup of hot chocolate while staring at the bead of the girl's eyes.
"If what you're looking for is happiness, I think it's a waste of time" he said.
The man took a sitting position in front of Adyra without waiting for her approval. She took a sip of her hot chocolate, then turned to stare at the window beside her. Or rather, at the speed of the raindrops behind that window, perhaps.
"Wasted time?" Adyra frowned in surprise. How can he say that seeking happiness is a waste of time? Adyra thought strange.
"God has arranged all the portions of human happiness and sadness fairly. So why do you find something that is definitely lo dapetin also in the end?"
Adyra was a little stunned by the short answer spoken from the lips of the guy before her. He looked at the guy's face carefully. He has an oval face shape, and a firm jaw. Highlight sharp eyes, with slightly thick eyebrows.
Him, handsome.
Although his hair is a little disheveled and a little wet at each end of his hair, but not the least reduces the macho and firm impression of his handsome face.
"According to Elo, what is destiny?"
Adyra was surprised when the guy looked back at her. He was afraid that the man realized that Adyra had been watching him closely.
The girl was a little excited to start the conversation.
"Gue..?? Um.... I think destiny is no coincidence. But a will made by God for man. God has written the script of our life story before we were born in the world, for what is happening now. As you said, everything is arranged fairly."
The man was mangosteen while making a circular motion of his right index finger on the lip of the cup. "So, do you believe in the same destiny?"
Adyra's forehead wrinkled, "Ehm... huh?"
The guy followed the movements of Adyra who was still frowning. Then fold both hands on the table. Staring at a cup of hot chocolate belonging to Adyra, to switch to staring at the bead of the girl again. He slightly pulled the corner of his lips until they formed like a grin.
"So, you believe. Our meeting was no coincidence. Except fate?"
