Doom Impending

“Kiel grandaj ili estas....... They had already built a headquarters this big in their new colony ? Absolutely awesome.”

“You praise something mortal, stupid.”

“Yes yes, I already know that too, madam. You don't have to tell me anymore, mia mosto.”

Aestus countered Flambeau's temptation with an annoyed sigh and a look of disdain that immediately turned to his face. It was a normal thing for Flambeau, and because he liked the usual things, he always did it at every possible moment. Flambeau smiled with satisfaction, as both of his eyes could see Aestus's annoyed and embarrassed face.

They were currently already above the Tian Long mountain range, a high mountain range that surrounded Long Zhen city as a natural fortress of their pride. But still, no matter how high the fortress, the city that took refuge behind the sturdiness of its stones was still destroyed as badly as it was destroyed. Flambeau was still sitting on a limestone, while Aestus was standing to his left, observing the scene of the ruined city of Long Zhen and leaving behind only a puff of smoke. The two of them were still waiting for someone, and it only took a while for the person they were waiting for to finally come up to them from behind. Not a single friendly greeting even welcomed the arrival of the tall and giant, as if he were alone there. After a while his eyes were still looking towards the city of Long Zhen, Aestus finally turned his head back, finding Nihilism carrying a white storage tube on the hilt of his right shoulder.

“How about our new 'light ? Ready to use ?”

“Hmph, I can release it anytime you want.”

“(Sigh) Alright. In that case, save it for later.” said Aestus as he turned back towards the city of Long Zhen which is below him at this time.

Flambeau then moved from his stone stand, standing facing the city of Long Zhen while stretching his hands like a preacher on the pulpit of the church.

“Well, finally. The waiting moment has come. Prepare the mortal men who are lost in the institution of darkness, for the coming torment is now coming.” exclaimed Flambeau with a loud voice.

...****************...

The sound of the alarm went off very loudly, giving off its red glow that twinkled along the basement hallway. People were running around carrying their weapons, while there was another person who ordered them with a loud voice and a brain who decided a decision correctly.

ATTENTION: THE SHIELD OF THE FIRST PART HAS BEEN PENETRATED, THE SHIELD OF THE FIRST PART HAS BEEN PENETRATED.

The sound was repeatedly echoed by the alarm to the point that it was ringing in their brains. It all happened very quickly, and also unexpectedly, not at all. There was no longer time for the soldiers to talk to each other, even as some of them ran through the hallways in tandem. Their faces were alarmed, hoping that what they would be facing right now was not something too dangerous, either, however there could be nothing innocuous capable of breaking through their main shield on the outside of it. While the soldiers were running around looking for death to await their arrival, the staff were evacuated to a much safer area. It was the thing that a female soldier with a katana sword had thought of at the left side of her waist, how envious she was of the staff being moved to that safer place. But his mind was dissolved instantly, when the wall on their right suddenly collapsed due to being broken through by a giant with a tube on his right shoulder.

“Damn, they are prophet !!?”

Spontaneously, various shots were deployed towards the giant, but all in vain. The thousands of bullets that were supposed to pierce the enemy's body only hit the giant's body and then fell back to the floor. The female soldier was perplexed, confused by what she should do at this moment.

“Amelia, do something !!” exclaimed a soldier he did not even recognize at all.

“Do what -!?”

Just as Amelia had finished asking back to the unknown soldier, the man had lost his head due to a red explosion that shot out very quickly. Not only did it break the head, but the shot also broke the crowd in the hallway into a silence that lasted for a few moments. Everyone was astonished, as was Amelia who saw the incident with her own eyes. Amelia turned to the giant slowly, and it was revealed that the bullet had come from her.

“BRASS !!!” exclaim another unknown soldier.

The soldier bravely replaced his rifle with an energy sword, then immediately ran towards the giant like he had received his death fate. It did not take long for the soldier to disappear from the face of the earth forever, after the giant's foot landed on his head, leaving him with only blood. Again Amelia saw the terrible event with her own eyes, make him have to realize that this may all be a punishment from God because he who colonized and killed innocent people from another world. The giant, Nihilism, walked two steps closer to Amelia's group of troops, then sighed for a while.

“You can live, if you tell us about the plane used to go to your 'home'.”

“B-Bulwark ??”

Some of them began to think critically and discuss with each other. This may be the second chance God has given them to repent of their abominable sins. But that doesn't apply to Amelia. He, instead growled and was preparing to pull his katana from the sheath of his sword.

“Prophet bastard...... What do you guys want to do there, damn !!?”

Amelia managed to attract the attention of her friends by jumping backwards and directly into her horses. In their minds, they had already guessed that the third victim would come soon after this, and it was indeed not wrong.

“Amelia, you are crazy !!?”

Amelia paid no heed to the screams of her friends, and she without a second thought shot straight towards Nihilism, who quickly kicked her into the iron wall to the left of the passageway.

“Akhhhh !!”

Fresh blood flowed from her mouth, and Amelia fell to the floor, drooping as if her body had no bones. He tried to take as many breaths as he could, but even his heart felt like it was no longer beating. He could not feel the air entering his trachea, nor flow through the bronchioles into his lungs. It seemed, the diaphragm had been torn and was unable to work as usual back. He tried to say a request for help, but no sound came out of his mouth at all. There was only blood and breath sounds. From there, Amelia sees that her friends begin to give Nihilism a path while pointing towards the north. He wanted to shout at his friends for their stupidity, but he was looking like a mute person right now, muttering no longer.

Foolish...... You're all......

Nihilism eventually walked past them without even making an attack, as did those who did not take up their weapons at all. Their lives had indeed lasted longer than the two self-killing men earlier, yet it had only lasted for half a minute in silence. Once Nihilism had been outside the passageway, the door of the tube she was carrying opened, and a pale-white female humanoid fell lifelessly from within. A bad incident has passed, but other bad events have come after them, so to speak. Suddenly, both sides of the passage, front, back, and the hole on the right, were all covered by a transparent red wall, which allowed them to see Nihilism once and for all. Nihilism turned towards them, and a mutter with a rather small voice could be heard from him.

“Repent, mortal man.”

Amelia and her friends were locked up in that hallway, and they weren't alone here. The humanoid girl left behind by Nihilism just now started to slowly rise up. After bending her body for a while, finally the humanoid girl stood up just like a human in general, and then her bright eyes like white clouds above the blue sky opened up staring at them sharply.

“Damn it, we've been lied to like....”.

I told you........ The scoundrel.......

The humanoid girl finally jumped towards them, and her claws left none of the soldiers in the passageway safe, except for Amelia who had been considered dead for a long time.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

“Adia, ⁇ afideto.”

A hot bullet pierced the head of a lieutenant who was stepped on by Flambeau over an iron bridge. What a pity, said Flambeau in his heart. The death of the lieutenant made all the soldiers who followed him become silent like statues. Flambeau turned towards the surrounding Bulwark soldiers, and a relaxed smile hung on his small lips.

“Esta bien, who else would want to help her in another world ??”

No one answered the question, of course. Most of them started to retreat slowly, but there was one exception here, again a woman. The woman was still in the same place, not taking even a single step back. His heart remained firm against the most terrible human enemy of the age, and it managed to attract the attention of Flambeau to him.

“Hola, chicas. You seem like you want to say something ??” asked Flambeau while slightly bowing to the woman.

The woman simply answered Flambeau by holding her Labrys axe tighter than the one before. In the background, thousands of sword slashes were fired in various directions by Aestus, killing thousands of people who dared to fight him. They are like a flock of sheep that will soon be slaughtered by their owners. There is no other way but to fight back or surrender to the slaughterer.

“Do not think you can set your feet in Bulwark after this !! General Hassen is with us here !!!”

Flambeau scrunched his forehead for a moment, before finally taking his shotgun from behind his back and pointing it at the mechanoid woman.

“I'm really curious about who that person is, but at least...... Thanks for the useful information just now, princesa.”

“Prophet fuck....... Everyone, don't let this clown set foot in Bulwark !! Attack him !!”

The mechanoid woman was not even a famous commander or mechanoid, but still her orders were followed by all her friends. Upon seeing the death of the lieutenant, a spirit flame appeared in his heart. That's what's spreading the adrenaline of his justice enforcers all over his body right now. Together, the mechanoid woman and her friends attack Flambeau like a horde of humans trying to catch a fly flying rapidly through the air. Every attack they always retaliated by both weapons held by Flambeau, be it hit by slashes from his machete, or hit by a hot bullet shot from his shotgun. But all that futility was still not enough to quell the determination of someone who tried to stab Flambeau from behind with his spear, only to see Flambeau vivaciously jump over the tip of his spear and then aim his shotgun at the person's head while he was still in the air.

“You can too....”.

The explosion of the shotgun Flambeau successfully hollowed out the man's head and left the remains of a hot fire that burned the inside of his head. More people are falling on Flambeau's hands and feet, but that is still not enough to make those who are still alive fall under his feet. The mechanoid with Labrys attacked again by hitting the blade of his axe on the floor, but what he got was a counterattack from Flambeau's spinning kick. He was still able to maintain that balance, and also managed to avoid a shotgun shot from Flambeau by rolling to the right side. However as soon as he stood back up from his roll, he could feel that his body had been hit by a slash from something, even when Flambeau was not swinging his sword.

“You took too long to take care of these people, clown.”

The mechanoid woman eventually fell sprawled onto the lifeless floor just like the others had, showing Aestus who had just lowered his katana to the point of almost touching the floor with his long sharp tip. Aestus walked past the corpse of the mechanoid while sighing and closing his eyes, and not too long later he also passed by the still-existing Flambeau in the same place at the moment.

“Quick clown, we spent a futile time fighting all these lunatics here.” Aestus said as he turned his katana a few times, then put it in his sword sheath.

“Alright, alright. Always impatient, as always.”

“Be quiet, asshole.”

Aestus and Flambeau continue on their journey back, still being continually hindered by some of the same powerless mechanoids as before. With great ease, Aestus's sword slash slashed the body of a mechanoid until it almost split in half, before finally falling sprawled onto the floor. Flambeau was still standing behind Aestus, continuing to observe his back while Aestus fired all of his sword slashes towards the Bulwark mechanoids that were blocking him. Flambeau was very interested in every movement of Aestus' body. The calm felt by Flambeau was only temporary, as well as Aestus who was still preoccupied by the current fight, when suddenly Nihilism contacted the two of them by telepathy.

I've found their plane, it's in the north. Also the new 'light' I've removed from the cage.

“I'm in focus, damn...” murmured Aestus who got distracted because of the telepathy from Nihilism.

He did not realize that he was currently silently sculpting in his horses, and a sword from a mechanoid would soon also slash his chest horizontally. But the slash did not happen, as the shot to the head from Flambeau had stopped the mechanoid from continuing its attack. As soon as the mechanoid fell to the floor, Aestus simultaneously also turned his head towards Flambeau, looking at him in annoyance. He was like he was on a rampage because one of his prey had been taken by the clown who had not even helped him since.

“Hey, you should be thanking me, not ?”

“I can avoid it myself, damn.”

Flambeau walked in a yawn, before Aestus, who was still standing on his horses, unaware that there was nothing to stand in their way. The mechanoid was the last of this iron bridge it seemed.

“I'm really not sure about that, estupido.”

“What did you say !!?” exclaiming Aestus while turning towards Flambeau followed his movements.

Flambeau then stopped while glancing at Aestus lazily.

“Yeah, just look. What do you want to attack now ?”

It took a few seconds for Aestus to digest what Flambeau said just now. He finally realized that now only the two of them were still living on the iron bridge.

“Cih...... I can explain, stupid.”

“And I don't need it.” said Flambeau as he continued to walk, leaving Aestus a few meters behind him.

For the first time, Aestus felt like a clown in this world. He sighed while enduring the embarrassment, could be seen from both of his cheeks that were starting to redden. It was only after a while later when he finally managed to calm himself down that Aestus decided to catch up with Flambeau again, after all, head to the Bulwark spacecraft to wreak havoc on those who have lost their way in the futility of this world.

...****************...

The door of the hangar room was knocked down by a loud kick from Flambeau, and the first thing he saw was a white, heavily armed aircraft. He smiled at the plane. That meant his sign that he would be able to leave immediately from this filthy place filled with mortal humans.

“(Sigh) Perfecto....” murmur Flambeau.

He then walked quickly towards the plane. He only had to wait for his other two friends after this. But an unexpected thing happened, when a human jumped from the vent and threw a sword slash at him while he was still in the air. What an incredible reflex for an ordinary human being.

That blue-colored sword slash could easily be reflected back by Flambeau to the person, and the person managed to repel his own attacks easily as well. A professional person like him, that's what Flambeau said in his heart. The mysterious man landed in front of Flambeau, looking at him with a sharp gaze.

“Hola, el extranjero....... Wasn't that what was, you could say, quite disrespectful to be used as a greeting ??”

“Prophet like you don't need a greeting. Just need to die fast just now.”

“Ara ara, how horrible....”.

The man, unceremoniously directly attacking Flambeau, shot towards him with a blue laser sword on both sides, up and down. However, even when he was off guard, Flambeau was still able to repel the man's attack, holding back his unique sword by using his machete. Their faces were close to each other, only to be blocked by sparks emerging from both of their weapons.

“You...... That's Hassen, right ? You're the only one who's the strongest here.”

“Heh, thank you for your useless compliment, bastard !!” he exclaimed Hassen, kicking Flambeau's stomach until he bounced and hit the wall. It was an unexpected attack for Flambeau, yet he still looked fine after landing back on the floor, like he had just been hit by nothing. Flambeau stood back up, then rubbed off the remaining saliva that littered the right side of his mouth.

“Hey, you know where Bulwark-direction is going?”

His pleasantries were not responded well by Hassen, as he was immediately startled by another successive attack from Hassen. He continued to dodge while several times fending off Hassen's attacks, very agile like flying flies.

“Fucking prophet !!”

“Ups....”.

Flambeau intended to fend off the rotating attack from Hassen's two-sided sword, but he was knocked out of the hangar door by it. His entire life as a Prophet, only this time Flambeau met someone who was able to throw it very easily, even many times. His entire adrenaline began to flow rapidly from his heart to his entire body, making him feel challenged and let out a grin in his mouth.

“Finalmente, a real fight !!”

Flambeau threw himself out using the blast from his shotgun, darting towards Hassen as fast as lightning. Now things are turned upside down. Flambeau was the one who attacked brutally, while Hassen only repelled his consecutive attacks while slowly walking backwards. The rhyme of their movements is like a dance of couples in sync with each other, very beautiful when viewed from a distance. Each slash from his machete was always accompanied by a shot from his shotgun afterwards, making the successive attacks from Flambeau seem almost impossible to avoid. Nothing is impossible for Hassen, however, as he has just done what should have seemed impossible for ordinary humans to do. He turned around avoiding Flambeau's slash, kicked his left chest, then shot at Flambeau twice while he was still in the air. It was a severe wound he had experienced for the first time, from an ordinary human.

“Oi, clown !! Why are you !!?”

The world always has a surprise to comfort someone who is suffering, it's always like that. As soon as Flambeau fell limp on the floor, there was a princess shouting at him from behind the fallen hangar door. It seems that she is Aestus, or perhaps also a fairy from another fairy tale that she always heard from her mother when she was a child in the past. In the last seconds his eyes still held open, he finally saw the princess he had always wanted, standing behind him as if trying to protect her.

Ah, I saw the paradiso shining brightly up there......... Is this real peace.

Their fight continues, now with Aestus and Nihilism replacing Flambeau who fell unconscious from a searing heat wound on his chest. Even when being bullied by two Prophets at once, Hassen was still able to hold on for quite a while and fend off all of their attacks both easily. Aestus spun behind Hassen and left him with thousands of slashes attacking him from various directions, and Nihilism continued to disturb him with the impact of his red sword smashing the basement floor whenever the attack did not hit him.

“Great also you, man.....” murmured Aestus who entered his horses.

Aestus inserted his katana into the sheath, and then concentrated all of the gravity into the center of his foot. His eyes were only focused to one goal, which was Hassen who was in front of him at the moment. He watched each of his movements closely, before finally leaning his body forward, preparing to immediately dart towards him and destroy him with a single strike.

“Oi, Nil !! Get off my track and get that clown on the plane !! I will hold this human here until you two go out on his plane!!”

Nihilism instantly understood what Aestus' command meant, instantly leaping towards the fainted Flambeau and leaving behind the bewildered Hassen momentarily. That provided enough opportunity for Aestus to shock Hassen who was still off guard and wanted to attack Nihilism once again. Aestus darted towards Hassen without any notice, and then began to pull his katana when Hassen was already within his strike range.

“Your opponent is me, stupid human!!”

“!!?”

Hassen was still able to protect himself from Aestus's deadly slash, as Aestus had expected that he should not go to Bulwark with his other comrades. Unfortunately, the stalk of Hassen at that time was still not strong enough because his attention was still diverted to Nihilism, making him still exposed to other effects of Aestus's ultimate attack, which was knocked out of the hangar. Aestus knew everything that was going on behind him, that Nihilism and Flambeau had entered the plane, and now the engine was turned on, just waiting for the flight time.

Aestus turned his head towards the plane for the last time, bidding farewell to his comrades.

In the end, even the most magnificent human sanctuary will experience its downfall, even when it lies between the darkness of outer space and is surrounded by thousands of stars and large planets around it.

The living will never not experience what is called death.
