SILENT SENTENCE

SILENT SENTENCE
9.

KEN stopped his bike right in front of the security post. Very weakly, he moved down and directly faced a guard who came out of the guard post smiling.

“Un’t Kha, ma'sihk (for Deka, thank you).” Usually Ken would talk a little longer with the guard, but this time just to mention his sister's name, he had to spend a lot of energy.

The security guard who had known Ken long enough was staring at the wonder of the teenager in front of him. Ken's face was very pale with blue lips, when it came into contact with Ken's hand when he picked up the lunchbox, Ken's skin was as cold as ice. There is also a lot of sweat in the temples of young men.

“You all right, son? Better take a break for a while, it looks like you are sick.”

Ken shook his head weakly barely visible, he would grimace silently as the overwhelming neyeri in his abdominal wounds felt. Looking around, hoping Deka would come out and meet each other. However, hope is still hope, the food that Ken brought was not all eaten by his sister. Ken turned around, grabbed the handle of the bike and almost dazed if not captured by the security earlier.

“Ken! You sick?” Ken shook his head, smiled again and kept trying to get on his bike.

‘Deka, eat a lot. I have to go now. Studying diligently, dek.’

Ken managed to pedal back his bike, desperately holding a groan of pain as the wound in the heart grew more painful and sore. After the child died, the security guard was wide-eyed to see drops of red liquid along the mesh. The body of the guard stiffened and he immediately ran into the school area looking for Deka. He had to do something before something worse happened than those red drops on the asphalt!

DEKA nagged in the middle of a basketball court that began to quiet because some of his friends had gone to the cafeteria. He accidentally does not go to the cafeteria, instead of not bringing pocket money, but he expects Ken to bring him lunch. For some reason, Deka really wanted Ken to come and bring supplies. He's so hungry. The security guard finally arrived with a gasp of breath, immediately handed the box containing the food that Ken brought to Deka.

“Your brother left this, Deka. But something strange, Ken might be hurt, there's blood in—”

“DEKA!”

Not yet had the security guard finish his sentence, Ayu called Deka from outside the field while waving. Of course Deka would prefer that girl over hearing about Ken.

“Son, you'd better meet your sister now. She terlu—”

“Pak, you better just go back to the post. I have more important business. For the food, thank you very much.”

Deka ran while carrying his box to Ayu. The security guard sighed and shook his head, little knowing the problems that always existed between Ken and Deka. Ken will leave Deka's lunch to the security guard if the youngest is angry or does not want to be disturbed. That is common, so the security guard certainly knows what kind of Deka nature if it concerns his brother.

‘EAT a lot, deck. You need to stay healthy and strong. I'm happy to be your sister, even though you never really wanted that.’

‘Do not waste the food. That's the last stock I can bring you.bGrow well, dek.’

‘If this will be my last day of breathing, I want to see you once again, then apologize for not being able to be the perfect brother to you, and also.’.

‘...thank you for being my sister. You brat, eat a lot to grow up like an athlete, dream of being a basketball athlete, right?’

Ken pedaled his bike continuously without thinking about the blood dripping. The blood mingles with bike chain oil, making it slippery and easier to paddle. Only, Ken could barely feel his legs. It might all be over today, but there was a certain pleasure; he managed to bring lunch to his beloved sister.

‘There are many things I want to tell you, Deka. But apparently, time is not enough to support.’

‘Remember the moments where we and our family played. Back then, you were so adorable—sorry, I know you don't like to be called so.’

‘Deka, my funniest sister. Don't be sad if someone goes away from you, because basically, no one will be as faithful as that to accompany until the end of life. There's always going first in this world.’

‘This brotherhood is so hard for me to understand, too much sadness that I go through to be able to stab my heart at any time. I often thought of ending my life, but still couldn't.’.

‘... I can't if I have to leave you with death just for trivial reasons, Deka.’

‘My promise when we were kids was to protect you... Did I make it?’

If his life is not needed by his sister, Ken dies too. The trust from the Mama has Ken convey well even though a little late. For Deka; may his sister remain a person loved and loved by everyone.

‘But now I'm willing. Very sincere if you have to die to protect your precious life.’

‘Stay alive, little brother. May we meet again in a happier life.’

‘If God gives 2nd life, we and our family will go to the playground and ride the ring again.’

‘And when that happens, maybe I can protect you...

'...once again.’

The teenager with thick hair was eating lunch with a feeling of joy, because accompanied by a beautiful girl who happened to like him. Ayu just kept quiet while watching Deka who ate without pausing the chew.

“Yu, what did you say? It looks serious.”

The lunch of the 18-year-old boy was over. Ayu looks nervous, but a warm grip from Deka makes the girl's face shamed.

“Tell me whatever it is, I must be horrin.”

“It..” Seen one doubt on her pretty face, “about Kak Ken, Deka.”

Instantly Deka's grasp loosened and disappeared completely. Ayu sighed, already knowing Deka's attitude would turn cold when it came to Ken.

Ayu nodded, her expression a little more serious. "I want to solve a problem a few days ago.”

Ayu said that she cleared her throat once to reduce her vibrating tone. “Me and Brother Ken have nothing to do, we are just friends and—”

“Yes, yes, yes. All the girls would say that, of course I know. Because girls will be easily embarrassed if caught dating.”

“Don't cut my words, I don't like it!"

Deka snorted miserably without nodding.

"The photos you showed me were true, me and your brother went out together and went to a beautiful place. I admit the place is very beautiful and—”

“Wow.” Deca flat, “you guys must be happy, I'm really amazed.”

“Serah.” Ayu clucked, it felt like he wanted to leave Deka, but determination from the beginning wanted to straighten out the current misunderstanding. “I came out with Ken because he invited me.”

Deka immediately turned his head to look at Ayu, then snorted dislike. Ayu silently smiled amusedly, then continued, “you don't know what we're doing, Deka. Brother Ken asked me out to buy your birthday gift.”

Ayu's words made both sides of Deka's lips open without a word coming out.

“Kak Ken knows you very well, Deka. But he doesn't know what you like as a gift. I agree, very happy to know what you need and like as your birthday present. Ken's brother was so enthusiastic, I never saw him so happy before. Ye know? He's happy, because soon his dear sister will have a birthday."

Ayu smiled again, this time not an amused smile but a sincere smile when she saw the appearance of Deka who suddenly changed.

“Kak Ken is the brother that everyone in the world craves, Deka. A brother who cares and sacrifices for his sister is more important than a brother who is selfish and always puts himself first than his other brother. Ken once told me that he really wanted to go to the night market, a place you used to visit when you were a child with your family. Brother Ken promises to take better care of you than ever, protecting you from any danger so you don't get sick. Kak Ken also wants to be one of the recipients of cake pieces for special people when you have a birthday, Deka.”

“And I didn't grant it, Yu.” Deka said bitterly and looked almost crying.

Ayu nods, “I know, because you didn't ngizinin she joined.”

“How can you know that much detail about Ken?”

Ayu sighed, turning to look at the expanse of weeds in the garden where they were currently.

“Kak Ken often tells a story, Deka. But take it easy, there's nothing bad he tells you about. Ken is so amazed that you can play basketball so well, he often asks me to shoot you on video while you practice basketball. He said he wanted to learn basketball so you could acknowledge him as a brother. Ken's brother is sure that that way, maybe you can take him."

Deka started feeling tightness in the chest, even Ken asked for his video to play basketball? To that extent Ken wants to be his recognized brother? Deka remembers asking Ken to have the ability to play basketball like his teammate's brother who is also good at it. Deka wants the older brother he has is also smart to do the sport.

“But Ken said he couldn't move too smartly because of an illness, until now I didn't know what it was. I hope he tells you, Deka.”

“Disease?” Deka feeling raging, “what disease?”

Ayu almost cried to look at Deka, how far was the brotherhood of Deka and Ken until his own brother's disease was not known?

“I don't know..” Ayu whispered softly, the girl's tears were no longer accommodated, dripping down and being absorbed by her uniform skirt.

“La—lalu, she told me what else?” Deka asked, trying to make Ayu not cry anymore.

Ayu smiles happily, “many, Deka. There is no day without telling about you. Brother Ken wants you to be happy even though he's suffering. Ye know? I cry every time he goes to our school and is insulted by you and your friends. I feel so stupid for not having the skills to defend.”

Free, tears of sadness remain sadness and will come down when the time comes. The sadness was even greater when recalling the painful times that Ayu saw in Ken. Why was the man so strong, while his days did not go smoothly? Deka himself lowered his head deeply, letting tears flow profusely from his two puffy eyes quickly. Once again he regretted hurting his brother, Ken had high hopes and much to him, but deka shatters all hopes and dreams.

“Deca..”.

Ayu called out in a raucous and slow voice, her gaze looking wistful and full of pleading. He held Deka's hand.

"If you have time, take the time to go to the playground with Kak Ken. At least he has good memories again like when you were little. Brother Ken sacrificed many things, if not be able to repay those kindnesses, at least make him smile and strong live life.”

Ayu stood up, making Deka look up with a wet face and a flushed nose. Deka's eyes were perfectly rounded when Ayu suddenly ducked and gently dipped her forehead.

“That's what you should know, Deka. I'm happy because you're jealous, it means my love doesn't clap one hand. I love you, very.”

After Deka was alone, Ayu left the park. Tears became an introduction, feeling relieved after all that was buried finally escaped all of the mouth. Ayu hopes that after this Ken's life will be a little better, and that love statement. May Deka also truly love her.

‘Kak Ken, I'm sorry. That's all I can do for you, ' Ayu smiled and sighed after wiping all her tears.

Srett! The girl almost fell when she collided with another student. His eyes were bulging when he found Bian with a messy look. The man's nose was bleeding even though it looked dry, his hair was disheveled. The blood even stained both hands to the end of the shirt. Can the nose bleed that much, huh?

“Bian, are you okay?”

“No, no, I didn't kill him. I am not guilty. Naw... No...” Bian passed while continuing to say the same words. Ayu narrowed her eyes, starting to feel uneasy.

The girl walked again, struggling in her own mind about the new problem. Bian kill? Is that true? Who did he kill and what causes it? Then the blood that was on his nose, his hands and his clothes, was that all the blood of the person he killed? Oh no, is Bian going to be so cruel? He is indeed naughty and a problem carrier in school, even more than Deka who is also quite a trouble maker, but... To kill? This time, Ayu will not be able to calm down after seeing Bian's appearance which is indeed unnatural, coupled with all the words that were not careless earlier.

'Too suspicious.’
