Chapter 23 Alex's Consciousness

That night Alex and Josie go out for a drink to the bar after a long day of work. Alex took off his suit and placed it on the back of the chair. He enjoys a drink with Josie.

"What about your wife?" chirps Josie.

Alex smiled as he put down his glass. He looked at Josie and turned back to his drink.

"Sandra.." Alex's voice softly mentioned Sandra's name.

"You must love him? ahaha!" Josie is amused to see a man like Alex fall for a woman.

"Who said I loved him? I didn't say anything!"

"You say her name gently and longingly. I think it's enough to describe your love" Josie smiled bitterly. she was just attracted to the man before her but seemed to be clapping her hands.

"I don't love him!" alex again.

"Then why did you marry her?"

"I married her because she was rich and beautiful" Alex laughed loosely, recalling her original plans to marry Sandra.

"Then what have you done with your plan? have you taken the treasure? have you left him? are you sure you can bear to see that woman living in poverty?"

Living poor? Sandra ....

Alex was silent and stopped his movements, Josie looked disappointed and laughed.

"I told Sandra I'd go home, you'd remember when you played me"

"Go home, Lex, find another taxi, I'll go home alone to my apartment"

"Josie I'm sorry" Alex clasped Josie's hand gently.
