Wika smokes her cigarette while standing in front of a glass window looking at the afternoon atmosphere of Adli's workroom.
"Hows it? You've met the girl in person, haven't you?" wika asked Adli who was standing next to her while enjoying a cup of coffee.
Adli just smiled bitterly at Wika's question. "Yes, I've met that ugly girl. Mr. Indra said he was not interested in entering the company. In fact, now he has joined us here" he said.
"Okay, I'm surprised myself. Mr. Indra always complained about his ugly daughter. I think Mr. Indra is worried that Dili no one wants to marry. Do you know what he looks like?"
"If it wasn't for your will, I wouldn't want to say hello" Adli said.
He felt his efforts were in vain to pretend to be good in front of Dili. At first he devised a strategy to look like a hero in front of the girl. Moreover, his beautiful appearance must be able to thrill any woman.
However, the plan turned out to be far from his expectations. Dili did not seem interested in him at all.
"Patience a little, you just need to try harder to keep our source of money smooth" said Wika.
He most vigorously supported Adli's plan to melt Dili's heart. Although the two have a secret relationship, Wika is not jealous of telling Adli to get Dili. All he did for the sake of taking possession of the family property Indra Lesmana, Dili's father. Previously he had indeed failed to get the heart of Indra. Now it's her lover's turn to fight for Dili.
Adli took a deep breath. He never imagined how complicated the plan to marry Dili would be. Even though she did not love Dili, she still felt a little upset when the girl said that she was interested in other men.
"She said she liked someone" Adli said.
"Well, it turns out Dili's pretty open about her personal life, huh?" wika said with a small smile. He did not expect the girl who looked innocent and shy was able to tell his feelings to Adli. Indirectly Dili like giving a subtle rejection.
Adli nodded slowly. He felt a little strange that Dili said that to him. But he didn't know what else to say.
"Don't worry. We still have time. You can try even harder" said Wika.
Adli looked at Wika with a look of disbelief. "Are you sure our plan will work? I don't know what else to do."
"We have to stay patient and believe that we can do it" Wika said in an excited voice.
Adli nodded again. He knew Wika was right, he had to believe in himself and still try to seduce Dili's heart. Maybe later Dili will change her mind and fall in love with her.
"I agree" said Wika. "We have to find a new way to approach Dili. Maybe by being her best friend first?"
Adli scrunched his forehead. "I don't know if it'll work. But, at least I'll try."
"You can do it, for sure" Wika said with a smile. "You're handsome, smart, and successful. You can attract Dili."
Adli smiled faintly. She was afraid that Wika would praise her too much. He felt that he was not yet great enough to be able to get Dili's heart. Wika has failed to get the heart of Dili's father, so now it's her turn to melt the heart of Mr. Indra's favorite daughter.
"We can think more later. Now, we have to focus on our work in the office" Adli said.
"Right," Wika said as she grabbed the remaining cigarettes in the ashtray. "I'll smoke for a while before I start work again."
Adli nodded. He looked at Wika who was smoking with a calculating face. He knew that Wika was very smart and clever. He also knew that Wika loved him sincerely.
He thought back about their plan to get the property of the Indra Lesmana family. He knows that they have to work hard and do not take any wrong steps. Because if they fail, it could ruin their career.
"Maybe we should find out more about Edgar," Adli said after a moment of thought.
"Who's Edgar?" ask Wika.
"Dili's boyfriend. I want to know who he is and what he's doing" Adli replied.
Wika nodded. "You're right. We have to try harder. We've reached this point, it's impossible to just give up."
Adli pondered for a moment. He admired Wika's determination, although sometimes it seemed too ambitious. However, he could not blame Wika. Both of Wika's parents were once successful entrepreneurs who always gave her what Wika wanted. However, due to bankruptcy both Wika's parents committed suicide. Now, Wika also seemed ambitious to achieve the same success, even more.
"What if I try to get to know Edgar more closely? Who knows I can find his weakness or his flaws" Adli said with a hopeful look.
Wika scrunched her forehead. "Maybe it could be a good strategy. But you have to be careful, lest you get stuck and instead interested in Dili."
Adli rolled his lazy eyeballs, agreeing to Wika's warning. He knew very well that Wika loved him very much and always supported him in anything. However, he also could not deny that Dili remained in his mind. Maybe because of curiosity, or maybe because of the sense of not being able to accept that there are men who like women who are considered ugly by many people.
