Chapter 16

"Thank you for driving me, Ramon. You're not just staying here?" edgar asked when the car Ramon was driving had reached his yard.

"No, Sir. I just want to go home to the apartment. You hurry in and rest so that tomorrow is ready to work again" Ramon said.

Edgar stretched out his stiff hands after running overtime in the office. "Well then, I'll go in first."

Edgar opened the car door and got out. A gatekeeper opened the front door for him.

"Thank you, sir," said Edgar.

The night was late and the condition of the house felt so quiet. The maids must have gone back to where they were at the back.

Clack!

Suddenly the lights in the middle room lit up. Edgar stopped his steps while holding his chest in shock. "Oh, jeez!" muttered.

He saw the mother standing there while folding her hands in front of her chest. Airin looks upset.

"Mama hasn't slept?" ask Edgar.

"Mama was deliberately waiting for you to come home. Sit here for a minute! Mama wants to talk!" airin said with a thin tone. He asked the son to sit with him in the living room.

Edgar took a breath. He removed the tie still wrapped around his neck with a single pull. He just wanted to rest after work. But, his mother seemed to have something important to talk about.

"What's up, Ma?" edgar asked while leaning his back on the sofa seat.

"It's about that blind date" Airin said.

"Last week I'll take her to meet Mama. Why talk again?" Edgar was a little disappointed because of what was discussed again the matter.

"Mama has met Gempi. He said you didn't come on that blind date."

Edgar straightened his seat to hear Airin's words. He did not know his mother would meet the woman.

"Mama wants to set up another blind date for you this weekend. Anyway, Mama won't stop until you get a wife!" airin said firmly.

Edgar was silent for a moment. Blind dates are so sick of him. He had to lose valuable time every weekend that could be used for rest.

"Ma," call Edgar.

"If Gempi is not your type, Mama will find another one!"

Edgar ruffled his hair in frustration. "OK, Ma! I want to be honest!" said. He breathed again. "Ma, actually when the blind date was I did not meet Gempi."

Airin smiled cynically at her son. "You're confessing now, right?"

"Yes, Ma ... But, there I met another woman who interested me, her name was Dili."

Airin. "Dili's? Who's that?"

"She's the daughter of one of my business partners, her name is Mr. Indra. I promise I'll introduce you to Mama this weekend" Edgar said steadily.

Airin shook his head. He tried hard to find a mate for his son, but Edgar instead found his own woman.

"But, at least you meet Gempi first. Mama was not feeling well because you didn't see her at the time" Airin said.

"That's different. If Gempi's parents find out, they'll surely quip Mama."

"Mommy stopped looking for women for me" Edgar said.

"Just get married, Edgar! You are old!" force Airin.

"Yes, Ma, yes ... I said next week I want to introduce you to Mama's future daughter-in-law. Take it easy, Edgar will get married soon" Edgar said, calming his mother.

"Be aware that you're lying, yes! Mama's gonna be mad!" threaten Airin's.

Edgar could only smile. He approached his mother and kissed her. "Just calm down, Ma. I'll give you the best son-in-law for you" he said. "Edgar to the room first yes, Ma! Go to sleep, tired!" pampered.

Airin fell silent in place after getting the sweet treatment from her son. He felt unsettled before he saw Edgar get married. He was worried that the rumors circulating in the company were something real. He could not imagine if his son was not interested in women.

Airin then grabbed the phone handle located on the table. He dialed the number of his second son who was abroad.

"Hello, Erland?" sapa Airin's.

"Hello, Ma ... What's up?" sounds good from across the phone.

Erland Rayyes is Edgar's younger brother who is studying abroad. He's 23 years old.

"Your lecture's over, right?" ask Airin.

"Already, Ma. Still waiting for graduation. Why why?"

"Go home, Mama needs your rocks!" pinta Airin's.

"Me, Ma? There's Brother Edgar."

"You want to go home, you have to go home!" insist Airin.

"Stage, Ma ... Let me finish my business here first so that there's no burden if I stay home."

"Here you go, just go home! It's very important and Mama needs you. Who else can you count on besides you?"

"Yes, Ma ... Aye! I'll try to go home this weekend."

Airin developed his smile. "Thank you, honey. You can always count on me" he said.

"Is there anything else you want to say? I'm going to college now."

"Ah, yes. If you come home later, buy Mama a nice bag, yeah!"

"Mama's bag is already a lot, rarely used as well."

"But Mama hasn't got a bag from you, honey. Buy one for Mama, yeah! Please ...."

"Bye!"

Airin smiled widely again. When he disagrees with Edgar, Erland will be the solution. He had planned something for his two sons.
