Dili felt awkward sitting in front of Adli. At lunchtime, they meet again. Adli offers to have lunch together at the cafe next to the office. Dili felt reluctant to refuse.
Somehow his passionate feelings of hatred could melt away when faced directly with the man. In her previous life, that man was her husband who could kill herself for property.
Dili felt that man could be good. No matter how he feels, there is a side of Adli's goodness that still imprint in the heart. Two years into their household, Adli treated her like a princess. Although it is possible that the man did so by force due to the influence of his stepmother.
"We should have met earlier" said Adli, sipping his coffee.
"What does Father mean?" ask Dili to know. He enjoyed a mouthful of spaghetty in his order.
Adli looked at Dili while smiling. "I don't have to pretend I'm here?"
Dili raised her gaze to look at Adli. That guy is really charming. He admitted that his stupid self could fall in love with Adli. This guy is very handsome and charismatic. He is upset with himself who is again in love with the hypocritical man.
"Your father had intended to introduce me to you. I came to the restaurant, but you didn't come" said Adli.
"Ah, that." Dili remembered that night. He deliberately canceled his intention and instead left with Edgar.
"May I know, what's the reason you didn't come back that time?" ask Adli.
Adli's tone was still the same, sounding gentle and well-mannered. Anyone who spoke to him would definitely be interested in him. Said Adli like having a magnet that is able to hook the interlocutor.
"Actually I came, but I was wrong to meet people. I'm sorry," said Dili.
Adli returned to smile. "I don't know who you were meeting at the time, but introduce me, my name is Adli, the financial manager at this company," he said, reaching out.
Irene returned the hand.
"Because this is our first meeting in person, how about we start getting to know each other today?" ask Adli.
"meaning?" Dili did not understand Adli's words.
"The match that Mr. Indra planned between us, let's start getting to know each other" said Adli.
"Em, not impolite, sir. I'm not really interested in marriage. I still want to focus on college and looking for work experience" said Dili.
Adli felt a little disappointed to hear Dili's rejection. However, he could sense that something was amiss. He wanted to know what was going on and wanted to help Dili.
"I'm sorry if you're too quick to introduce yourself and talk about matchmaking. I just want to know, is there anything that makes you not want to continue this relationship?" ask Adli gently.
Adli smiled wryly as Dili said she liked another man. He felt disappointed and a little offended because before he felt there was chemistry between them. However, he did not want to show such disappointment to Dili.
"Ah, so is it. I hope you two can be happy" Adli said with a forced smile.
"Yes, thank you. I hope so too," replied Dili with a smile.
"May I know who he is? I was curious" asked Adli.
"A friend from college. His name is Edgar" replied Dili.
Adli nodded his head. "Oh, that's good. I hope you two can support each other and be happy together."
Dili could only keep her true feelings to herself. How much hatred and longing there was for the figure before him. Adli has two sides in his memory. Adli the baii and Adli the wicked. Seeing that man grimly made her feel guilty.
"I'm sorry if I'm too open about this feeling. I just want to be honest" Dili said.
Adli smiled and shook his head. "No, no, you're not wrong. I'm glad you're being honest with me. We can still be friends, right?"
Dili smiled and nodded. "of course. I hope we can still work well together in this company."
"certainly could. And if you need help or have a problem, don't hesitate to ask for my help, yes," Adli said.
Dili was touched by the offer of help from Adli. "Thank you, Mr. Adli. I wouldn't hesitate if there was a problem."
Adli smiled and nodded in understanding. "It's okay, I get it. I just want to help you, please don't hesitate to contact me if there's anything I can help you with" Adli said as he gently patted Dili's hand.
Dili felt a little relieved hearing Adli's words. She feels grateful to have a friend like Adli at work. "Thank you, sir. I will contact you if there is anything you can help me with" said Dili.
"Please call me Adli. It feels awkward you call it 'Sir'. We're friends now, right?" reply Adli.
Dili smiled clumsyly. "Because of my boss, I should call him that, sir. After all, I was much younger than my father" said Dili.
Adli scratched his head which was not itchy. "Ah, yes, you are right too" he said.
The two of them continued their lunch with an awkward atmosphere. However, the two of them decided to keep a good relationship and help each other in the company.
