It was getting late but Titus Malachi Maasih had not yet returned home. Naura was worried and worried about her husband. "Did he manage to meet Ruben Avshallom? What if something happens to her? Can peddle? Maybe he was beaten up?" Naura grew frightened and stood with trembling legs.
"Don't-don't..don't-don't-don't he's already dibu....." Naura was unable to continue her words. He smothered his mouth with both hands.
"Oh my God? How'this? What am I supposed to do now? Even his phone has not been contacted since. Is she okay? Why isn't she home yet?"
Minutes that were like hours passed. Naura flinched when she heard the sound of a car roar entering the courtyard of her house. He immediately walked out of the house, especially hearing a little commotion outside his house.
"Sir why do you look like this?" ask the waiter to welcome Titus.
"How are you doing, sir?" ask the bodyguard who helped him out of the car.
"I will help you in" said another servant who approached Titus and helped carry him.
Naura's steps had just reached the porch of the house when she suddenly stopped and screamed in shock, "Oh my God! Why are you doing this to my husband?"
She rushed over and told her husband to go into the house, "Please get me a P3K box" she told one of the maids. Titus hissing and moaning in pain made the middle-aged woman even more anxious as she looked at the bruise on her husband's face.
"Do I need to call a doctor? Titus, you hurt anywhere?" asked Naura in an anxious tone.
"Relax, wife. It's just a normal bruise. I'm fine." replied Titus.
"How can you say you're okay with this much bruising?" hardik Naura while pouring alcohol onto the gauze then pressed onto her husband's wound with a slight force, making Titus grimace in pain.
"Surely they did it to you, didn't they? The Avshallom guards? Do they really not have the heart to beat people up this badly?" naura protested again with restraining her anger.
"Naura, calm down!" Titus grabbed his wife's hands and squeezed them, "It's not their fault that they beat me. I was the one who forced my way in because I wanted to see Ruben Avshallom! I even made a fuss there."
Hearing her husband's words, Naura's facial expression seemed to protest that she still could not accept such an excuse. Her husband's face was bruised like this, how could he possibly accept it? She was really angry with the Avshallom family's treatment of her husband.
While Titus showed a grim facial expression, he even took a breath so many times that it caught Naura's attention. "Titus, husband! How then? Did you, uh....just manage to meet that guy?" tanyanya while holding her husband's shoulder carefully.
There was no response from the middle-aged man. The man still lowered his face while continuing to sigh heavily.
"Titus? Husband, what's wrong? why are you quiet?" Naura asked again while holding her husband's shoulder.
"Yes, I've managed to meet them." Titus finally responded.
"They? Meanin?" naura's forehead shriveled.
"I saw Ruben and Deanna Avshallom!" titus lirih.
"That woman. That pretentious and arrogant woman who would casually call my daughter as her future daughter-in-law. That woman you mean, right?"
Titus furrowed both his brows looking at his wife and he again let out a long sigh, "Naura! Never mind, just be patient."
"Whatdidyou say? Patience? How can I be patient? It was Maya who had taken my daughter from my side. Not only did he take care of her as his niece but he instead raised Emily as a child so we were forced to remove Emily's name from the family card. The original agreement was not like that? At first she was just going to babysit Emily as a lure so she could get pregnant again?"
"Yes but in fact until now your sister is still not pregnant, right?" titus sahut.
"But he shouldn't have taken the unilateral decision to raise Emily as a child! Now officially, my daughter is already listed as part of her family, no longer as the daughter of the Malachi family!"
"That's Naura! Maya does that because she has trouble taking care of Emily's education in New York. That's why things would have been easier if Emily had been put on her family card as their child. Even if it makes us forced to remove Emily's name from the family card" Titus said.
He endured the pain in his body while stroking his wife's back trying to spread the woman who was now sobbing without the sound. He breathed heavily many times. He understood how his wife felt because she felt the same way.
For years they were forced to live apart with one of her twin daughters. Which parents can release their children? In order to sustain that crumbling heart, both Titus and Naura tried their best not to give Emily any attention.
They were worried that if they paid more attention to their daughter, who lives far away on another continent, they would not have the courage to let go of their daughter. They never came to Emily's graduation or other important events but they always get video submissions from Maya.
"Just see it through video footage, this longing seems unable to be dammed. Especially if we come and see it? We may never be able to part with our daughter again." Titus took a deep breath trying to reduce the heavy burden in his heart.
All this time he was always trying to be cold to his daughter and he realized fully that what they did to Emily was wrong.
"Definitely in Emily's eyes, I'm not a good father. I'm the father who never loved him, the father who was kind to him."
The way they've survived all these years is by pretending not to care and not paying attention to Emily. They held all the real great affection for their daughter.
"Now this is the case," complained Titus squeezing his hair with both hands, "Emily knew nothing. He's innocent and should be dragged into this. Oh, my God, I can't imagine how much he's suffering there."
Sighing heavily, Titus tried hard not to roar in frustration.
"Then how?" naura asked him to disperse Titus' daydream. The woman wiped her tears and looked at her husband with a gaze waiting for her answer.
"Have you told them the truth? That the man who was being held hostage by the devil was not Eleanor but Emily? That what they're going to force to marry is Emily, not Eleanor? Titus, you told them everything, right? What was their response?"
Naura flocked her husband with the same question, she looked impatiently at Titus who just kept silent and said nothing.
"Titus, husband? Saying something. You told them, right? Are they gonna cancel the wedding don't shut up! Answer me!"
