PRECIOUS PRINCESS

NINETY EIGHT

"Goarr" suddenly a group of lions came to surround the three of them with their horses. Their size is slightly larger than other normal lions.

"What else is this" prince Zhan grumbled then he leaned closer towards Xuan Lan.

"Sir, you're on a horse. Later you can run when this pack of lions starts attacking your horse" Xuan Lan told the old man.

Xuan Lan said that because of emarin's near-dying grandfather's condition. Prince Zhan and Xuan Lan then distracted the lions by looking them in the eye and then slowly moved away from their grandfather and horse.

"Grrr" the lion was attacking as it approached the two of them. Xuan Lan and prince Zhan were still speechless, they would not attack the lions before the lions themselves attacked them both.

One of the young lions then jumped towards Xuan Lan. Xuan Lan instantly avoided the lion's safety earlier. He then looked towards Prince Zhan who had been mobbed by all the lions that were there.

The lion began to show his fanged teeth. Near Prince Zhan with determined steps, his gaze was extremely intimidating a sign the three of them were in the wrong territory. The king of the forest then jumped up and clawed at Prince Zhan's clothes.

With the tear in his clothes, Prince Zhan had realized that these lions were intending to make him food. He then looked at Xuan Lan who was also staring at him. Prince Zhan then nodded and shouted.

"Now!"

Xuan Lan and prince Zhan with his lightning steps began to attack those starving lions. The lions became even more brutal in attacking the two of them. What was once only intimidating now becomes injuring. Ten against two, it was unfair indeed but Xuan Lan and prince Zhan were still trying to fight against these ferocious lions.

"Grr" the lions began to surround the two of them forming a circle. Xuan Lan and prince Zhan stood in their midst with their backs to each other and mounted their omen horses ready to attack at any moment.

"Grr" all the lions began to narrow the circle they had made. Prince Zhan and Xuan Lan then jumped to get away from the ten lions at once. They then attacked the lions from behind.

"Goarr" the lion moans earlier when it gets a surprise attack from behind it. They then flipped his body facing the two people who had already attacked them. Their gazes remained the same: the gazes hunting their prey.

Xuan Lan then took out her beloved little knife and prince Zhan began to take out his dagger. They then attacked the lions using their respective weapons which had been fed by their energies. Xuan Lan directly exerted 3 tier 8 energies so that the lion would not need to be in pain and die immediately and it seemed like it worked.

Prince Zhan was also doing the same thing since his height was already at the 3rd level of 10 energy. They then killed the lions until they were all dead. Surprisingly, after all the lions died their bodies were then just gone, not even a drop of blood was there.

"W-how did this happen?" prince Zhan was confused. He then saw the part of his clothes that had been clawed by the lion but his clothes were still intact and not torn in the slightest.

They then approached the grandfather who was still faithful waiting on the horse he was riding.

"Do you know why this could happen?" xuan Lan asked the grandfather.

Grandpa shook his head at the sign he didn't know anything.

"Gege, sometimes what we experience is not necessarily experienced by others. Right cake?" xuan Lan said as she looked at the grandfather. Grandpa nodded. They rested for a while before continuing their journey.

The conditions in the forest are dark, maybe coupled with the sun starting to go west to make the forest darker. Xuan Lan suggested that they spend the night around the place they passed by right now.

Prince Zhan helped grandfather get off his horse. He put his arm over his shoulder to help him walk. Prince Zhan then sat the grandfather down near Xuan Lan.

Xuan Lan had already concocted herbs to give to the grandfather earlier. As Prince Zhan lit the fire, Xuan Lan helped the old man drink the potion he had made.

"What are we going to eat?" prince Zhan asked, breaking the silence because he did not see any animals or trees that had much fruit on their branches as they began to pass through this dark forest.

Xuan Lan then took out a dry snack that the woman had already given her yesterday. He and Prince Zhan only ate wet-textured food yesterday. So for dry food can be sure the stock is still safe.

Xuan Lan then gave the dried food to Prince Zhan and the grandfather. He also took enough food to eat.

Xuan Lan then picked up the blanket she had already placed on the side of the horse. He had already kept it there while waiting for the grandfather to come to his senses yesterday. After all, Xuan Lan did not know who grandfather was then he had to be vigilant.

Xuan Lan then gave each person a blanket because the conditions here were indeed very cold plus the wind that sometimes blew made their hair stand up to withstand the cold of the wind.

"You two go to sleep, I will stand guard" said Prince Zhan and the two men only followed suit and entered his dreamland.

Prince Zhan had started yawning yet he was still trying to keep his consciousness. Xuan Lan who had been sleeping for a few hours then woke up, he had already guessed that prince Zhan must be very exhausted so he wanted prince Zhan to take a nap. After confirming that Prince Zhan was asleep, he opened his eyes wide to keep watch.

The atmosphere was very dark, only visible light from the twigs that they had burned even the moon and stars were completely invisible because they were covered by towering trees.

The air was so cold, Xuan Lan chose to bring herself closer to where Prince Zhan was and hug him for warmth from this man who was now her brother. Although this included being less ethical when viewed but there was no other choice as Xuan Lan was also unlikely to hug the grandfather in a sleeping position.

Xuan Lan kept her eyes from getting closed. He felt that everything was safe and there was nothing to ignore. Xuan Lan could stand guard until morning even though he was keeping watch in a sleeping position. As he felt prince Zhan start to wake up, Xuan Lan hurriedly closed her eyes to make him look like he was still asleep.

"This child is like a baby" prince Zhan said as he stroked Xuan Lan's cheek as he looked at the sleeping Xuan Lan in his arms.
