"You've been on guard for two days now it's my turn to stand guard" grandfather Shi said unwillingly to be denied.

The next day, grandfather Shi still remained on guard he did not even fall asleep at all. Prince Zhan and Xuan Lan then woke up from their slumber. They took their lives first.

Grandfather Shi nodded his head. He then stared at the vast expanse of plants before him at this moment.

"True, we should not touch any part of this plant because it will react later" said Shi's grandfather.

"Are you two ready?" ask Grandfather Shi in the end.

Prince Zhan and Xuan Lan nodded their heads. They then entered the expanse of the plant carefully. Prince Zhan's clothes accidentally hit the plant stem beside him. The plant instantly opened part of its mouth and lowered its body down like it wanted to pounce on anyone who disturbed its comfort but luckily prince Zhan hurriedly dodged.

Xuan Lan turned her head around looking at prince Zhan.

"Are you okay gege?" asked Xuan Lan who was replied in a nod by Prince Zhan.

"Be careful" Xuan Lan said again.

They then walked again. Xuan Lan held her breath and stopped her steps for a moment as a plant suddenly swerved before her. This plant is very sensitive, if it accidentally touches it then this plant will turn around and pounce on it.

After the plant had returned to its place, Xuan Lan could only breathe a sigh of relief. He looked at Prince Zhan again before continuing his footsteps. They then walked carefully even though they had already lost track of grandfather Shi. All that was on Xuan Lan and prince Zhan's mind at the moment was each other's safety and perhaps since this was already the third time grandfather Shi passed through this place then he could pass through it easily.

Xuan Lan then pulled out Prince Zhan's hand.

They then scanned his surroundings, it was extremely difficult to find a gap out of where they were now. Sometimes there are plants that will fall towards them but they can avoid them.

"Come, Xuan Lan" prince Zhan said as he clasped Xuan Lan's fingers tightly.

They then change their position that was next to each other to go front and back. Prince Zhan started running and dodged the attacks of the herbs earlier as well as Xuan Lan. Although sometimes their clothes are hit by thorns that make it tear but they do not pay attention to it anymore.

"Gee!" he shouted but there was no answer. His tears began to decay as he did not see any more of his gege shadows among the gathering of plants.

Xuan Lan then sat down while crying sobbing calling out the name of prince Zhan.

"Zhan ge" shouted Xuan Lan again.

"Lan'er, I'm fine" came the voice of prince Zhan who suddenly hugged Xuan Lan from behind.

"You don't cry" Prince Zhan said as he wiped away Xuan Lan's tears.

It took some time for Xuan Lan to be able to stop her crying. He hugged Prince Zhan tightly.

"But your face" Xuan Lan said as she looked at Prince Zhan's face that was already filled with red.

"Sst, it's okay. I'm fine, we've reached the valley of hope soon we'll reach the mountain of hope" Prince Zhan said.

"Obati used to be your wound" said Xuan Lan who then treated Prince Zhan's wound. Prince Zhan then took the medicines from Xuan Lan's hands then he rubbed them on Xuan Lan's bloody elbow.

"It is" said Prince Zhan with a smile.

They then stood up and walked together towards the place where grandfather Shi was standing.

"Grandfather, are you hurt?" asked Xuan Lan in her hoarse voice.

"No" said grandfather Shi.

"We have reached the valley of hope. Maybe we have other goals so I guess we should split up here" Shi's grandfather said.

"Alright cake, see you later" said Xuan Lan and Prince Zhan simultaneously.

After grandfather Shi left, prince Zhan then asked where the two of them were going and Xuan Lan still did not know the direction of the cave the book was referring to yesterday.

They then walked in no direction. Xuan Lan also told prince Zhan if he saw the cave then he should inform Xuan Lan.

"Isn't that Lan'er's cave?" prince Zhan said as he pointed at the cave in front of him.

Xuan Lan looked towards the cave. He then shook his head.

"Not that one is gege" Xuan Lan said languidly.

They continued walking until the sun was almost setting. Xuan Lan then looked at the large rocks but in the middle was a very small hole, probably only fit for a fox. He then moved his feet towards the rocks.

"Lan'er is this what you mean?" prince Zhan asked when they were near the rocks.

"Yes" Xuan Lan said as she nodded her head.

"It's not a cave, it's just Xuan Lan's rock slit" said the gnarled prince Zhan.

"We haven't tried to get into it yet gege" Xuan Lan said lazily.

"But-"

"Gege, please believe me" said Xuan Lan who was lazily arguing.

Prince Zhan was finally silent. He then followed wherever Xuan Lan's footsteps took him away. The moment Xuan Lan started to insert her head then her neck and body but Xuan Lan then felt that the gap then enlarged and became a wide cave mouth.

Unlike what Xuan Lan felt, Prince Zhan saw that Xuan Lan was being pulled into the cave and suddenly disappeared. Prince Zhan then caught up with Xuan Lan in the same way but he was somewhat shocked at the moment the crack turned into a huge cave mouth like the one Xuan Lan had felt earlier.

"What was that earlier" murmured prince Zhan as he was already standing before Xuan Lan.

"Let's go gege, we're going in a deeper direction" Xuan Lan said and pulled Prince Zhan's clothes.

They continued walking until they finally found a house that was in the middle of the cave just now, just as the book that Xuan Lan had read said.

Then they set their feet toward the house. Politely, Xuan Lan began to knock on the door that was in the house.

"Grandfather Shi!" strangled prince Zhan and Xuan Lan together.
