Finally, I want Dede to meet Nando this afternoon after school. Today is our last rehearsal before tomorrow singing in Toebroek. It wasn't easy convincing Dede to meet Nando, so he knew Nando was worth fighting for.
“I'm home now Sophie,” said Dede in a tone that couldn't stand it. Nando was already ten minutes late from the promise we had made earlier.
“Please De, just wait a minute. It's possible that his motor fuel runs out and he has to queue at the gas station,” Dede is my best friend. We share a lot of things. Therefore I want him to also be a witness to – important things that happened in my life.
“One bad thing that makes me even less sympathetic with your guy Sophie,”
That is how my friend is. After the – hara lightly yesterday, Dede still has not softened. But at the very least, there was already a mutual understanding between the two of us.
“It's because you haven't seen it yet De. That guy has a charisma that no other – guy I've ever met has. He it was very, very other,” I took a lap then wiped the table – Toebroek table that has been my duty a day – days.
“Sophie, you are right – have been blinded by love,”
“I can what De ? Well it's like this girl who is like the same guy.you've been in love khan ?” I turned to Dede who was sitting while folding his two hands in front of his chest. “You know I've been dating twice and you've been a real medicine,” Dede smiled as she glanced at me. “But my first boyfriend I got when I was in sixth grade at SD.” Dede replied without looking at me.
“Hah? Such an important event you didn't tell me ?” I stopped at a corner where there were some pillows and a television.
Dede took a deep breath, as if – of her love story was a very important part of her past and I decided to pause while quietly listening to Dede's story.
“He used to be a guy who always passed by on the street next to my house if he wanted to go to school. I remember she was Junior High when I was in 6th grade. Every morning Sophie, before school, I would go to my room and stick my head out the window so I could see her going to school on my bike. His face was very cute with his blue white uniform. One time, when I was engrossed - fun to worry about him from the window, arrived – just arrived he turned right towards me. It was the first time I could see his face so clearly. Better than I thought it would be. It wasn't my first look at him, but it was the first time he looked at me. At that time Sophe, I knew I was in love. So you know my regular schedule every morning?” Dede smiled at me. I think it's the most romantic story in the world, beating Romeo and Juliet. Turns out, this great and pretty stubborn debater chick is melancholic as well.
“Then ?” I asked him when he was silent for too long. He's still smiling. My friend took a deep breath and the smile disappeared from his face, changing with serious mimicry.
“One day, he intentionally dropped something right under my window then quickly – quickly go without smiling at me as usual. When I got out, I got a piece of paper folded up like a boat. It says in a short sentence. One is nothing else. But even though it was only one sentence, it felt like it was enough to make my world stop.”
“What does he say De ?”
Instead of answering, he looked away at the green place, my apple orchard. Fernando's walking there.
“What did he say ?” I'm very curious.
“I leave tomorrow,” Dede take another deep breath.
“Hah? Where are you going?”
“Not that. I mean, in the letter he said ‘aku tomorrow go’”
“That's it?”
Dede nodded. “After that day Sophie, even though I was tired of waiting for her.she never again appeared.”
“It just doesn't please Sophie at all, likes someone and then she leaves. Therefore I want you to heart – heart before know he has the same feelings as you or not,” today is not the first time Dede gave me advice like a person who has aged half a century. I was confused as to how to react to Dede's story, and I decided to just shut up and wait for what would happen next.
“You don't even know his name ?” I asked when I heard the sound of a motorcycle approaching. I know it must be Nando.
“He wrote his name there,” did not have time Dede finish his sentence I cut, I cut,
“Dede, he's coming,” I shouted at Dede. Dede stood looking at the road.
“Mana ?”
“Still not visible,”
“You can know ?” dede's eyes looked confused.
“I heard the sound of the motor. My hair is neat yet ?”
Dede observed me a moment later saying, “Rapi, but your shirt is dirty.”
I ran to the room changing shirts while I heard the sound of Nando's bike getting closer and then stopped. I changed shirts, tidied up the hair, sprinkled a little powder, put on mascara, cologne and ended my face in the mirror for a moment. For the appearance is not made – to make it seem natural I think it is enough. With the steps I made as graceful as possible, I walked straight towards Toebroek, imagining myself as a princess walking down to the dance floor in a ballroom with the accompaniment of a magnificent orchestra. While walking, I had planned to say – words what – thought I would ask Nando. From a base – stale like “Lotly come ?” or a guitar question. Questions that seem smart like, “You can key F ?” But someone like Nando must have no problem with the key F. So I decided not to ask that but replace it with “It seems, the number one string needs to be replaced deh.”
I wrote in the air, Nando next to Sophie. Looks appropriate. What an amazing combination of names. Sophie Srikandi, singer boyfriend of a guitar player. The perfect combination of masculine and feminine, deserves an award.
Entering Toebroek, I saw Dede and my future girlfriend sitting opposite. Nando looked at Dede like he was about to say something while my best friend just looked down. Dede's hand played a keychain in her bag. A little pig doll a pink fist. Surely the two of them were stuck in an awkward atmosphere because they had just met for the first time and did not find the right chat.
“Can you ask for your HP number?” I faintly heard Nando's voice.
“Better no,” replied Dede briefly.
I was amazed by Dede's words. Why did he get that instant on Nando whom he had just met. This must be because Dede did not like Nando from the beginning.
“Ehem ... ahem,” I cleared my throat to get their attention. As I expected, the two of them were racing to look at me. I felt a sense of dread reading from Dede's face, but she quickly closed it.
“Aready for training?” ask Nando.
“Of course. My guitar is like a wife. Wherever I take.”
I laugh. “Before having a wife, must have a girlfriend first dong.”
“Therefore. I was just waiting for the right person,” Nando said as he turned to Dede for a moment and then turned to me with a smile. The sweetest smile I've ever seen. In my heart I said, I am here, in front of you. I'm the right guy. Remind me, I'm a singer and you're a guitar player.
“Sophie, I have to go home now,” said Dede riled. His face was not calm at all.
“Says you're free this afternoon De ?”
“Iya. Suddenly I remembered that today I had to nemenin my mother acupuncture.”
“Lho, usually he goes alone khan?”
“Yes, usually so. But I don't know why he suddenly asked for delivery this morning. He said the hell so I could be known to his son.”
“Whose boy?”
“That, the person who acupuncture.”
“Oh so.”
“He uh,” replied Dede with a riled face.
“Do, I take Dede to the front well,”
Nando nodded then took out his guitar from its place. I went with Dede to the big road to get the angkot. He kept quiet, like he was thinking about something.
“You know BT gini anyway De? I know you don't like Nando. Just heard a story about him that you didn't like. You're my friend, aren't you De?” I said annoyed.
“Sophie, you are my best friend. I won't let this guy's troubles ruin our friendly relationship.” Dede replied still with a bow.
“What do you mean?”
He didn't have time to answer my question because the question Dede was waiting for had arrived. My best friend left and I only saw him through the big angkot glass. I saw one small spot of tears she wiped at the end of her eyes. His words about the matter of the man who would not disturb our friendship still lingered in my head. I still don't understand.
“Sorry too long waiting,” I told Nando when I was in Toebroek again.
“Ah, it's okay,” he replied. He plays his guitar slowly in a distinctive way. His body slightly lowered and his hair covered his swinging forehead. A beautiful sight.
“It looks like the number one string needs to be replaced deh,” I said saying my greeting earlier.
Nando halted his play for a bit then plucked the number one string. Listen to it carefully then tighten it up a little. “Not really, still good. Ready to train khan?”
I'm nodding.
“Ehm .. You have HP number Dede?”
“Sure, why?”
“By request”
“Of course”
