Play your guitar Sophie

Play your guitar Sophie
Truth

Finally, that day is over. Everyone was happy, except Diana. When we finished singing, not a word was said.

“Good work. You must be tired, eat now. If you are not fast – fast, the – people must have devoured everything,” Pak Doni in the style of pointing – his typical pointer speaks. We all tried to laugh at his unfunny jokes.

I put the foreign guitar that had been hanging on my shoulder until it was sore. Mama's guitar, no matter how long it hangs on my shoulder won't make me stale like that. Mama's guitar seemed to understand the curves of my body so that it could put itself in the right place. I turned right and left, looking for – find Mama's guitar. I think I miss him a lot. Except tonight, never once have I sung without my guitar.

“You looking for this khan ?” Stan came with Mama's guitar. It was like finding gold as big as bricks.

“You don't want to eat Sophie ? I'm already hungry,” said Stan sambi rubbed – swabs of his flat stomach.

“Good miss – miss,” The hotel manager we always refer to as the Boss came to us both while looking at Stan as usual.

Seeing the big boss coming, Diana with – dials ran over, then smiled and embraced me.

“We were a great team khan Bos?” diana said flirtatiously.

“Of course, great ... great .. once. Especially you Miss,” Boss is looking at me with a smile. “I'll ask Mr. Doni to extend your contract here. Hows it? You definitely want to, right?”

I was confused, I looked at Stan and Stan turned to look at me while nodding – nods. But I hesitated to say yes until Stan finally spoke,

“Maybe Sophie is tired Sir. So he's still confused. Sophie would love to,” Stan said.

“Contract extended also right Boss?” Diana asked spoiled while holding the hand of the Boss. The Boss politely let go of Diana's hand.

“We can talk about that later Diana,” said Pak Bos sage. The Boss then turned to face me, so Diana was now behind him. At first glance I caught the disbelief from his eyes. The star has faded.

“And you're Sophie. What you do is more than sing. Not everyone can be like that. You sing with your heart. Listen to me, Sophie, there are few people who can do it like you. You're special. Keep singing Sophie, maybe this is your future path. Let miss – miss,” she said as she passed away without caring about Diana. When passing Stan, Mr. Boss said, “Let's Miss,” while glancing.

Stan snorted and his face was red, “What is that guy who always calls me Miss,” when Mr. Boss is gone.

“That's not you Stan. All he meant was me.”

“Didn't you hear what she said Sophie. ‘Nona – Nona’. That's two words, indicating more than one, plural. He pointed at us both. You and me. If only he wasn't the boss. I've already punched his face,” assault Stan flaming – fire. His red lips looked shiny in the light of the lamp.

“Already, let it go. maybe he was wrong to say it. Besides, he also loves us the job khan? If you are angry – angry with him, can – we can not get any more money,” I said trying to appease, ignoring my heart that feels uncomfortable. Of course I'll keep singing, but I'll sing where I like, along with – people I love.

“You're right. Do you want to extend your khan contract?”

Hearing the word ‘extend that contract’, Diana snarled then walked into the dressing room while previously nudging my shoulder.

“Uhhhh, the girl.” I said annoyed. “You know Stan, why did I get locked in the bathroom today?”

“Why?” Stan asked with his eyes wide open.

“Because of that girl. He locked me in the bathroom. Surely he did not want me to appear in front of the bosas today,” I said with hunting breath, then connect my story about how I found out that Diana locked me in the bathroom.

“Don't worry Sophie, I'll make her not dare like – sorts with you again after today. I'll catch that girl,” Stan said angrily.

“You mean you don't want to extend the contract?”

I shrugged my shoulders.

“I want to change clothes. You eat first,” I said to Stan after a while. I left Stan, went to the dressing room. Diana was there patting – patting her face with wet cotton face tonic.

“You make me envious,” Diana tukas arrived – arrived.

I looked around, asked – to ask if there was anyone else he was talking to. I didn't see anyone else in the dressing room other than me and Diana. I don't believe what I'm hearing right now. I looked towards him.

“Sister Diana talked to me?” I'm trying to make sure.

“Do not pura – pura lugu. Don't look at me weird like that. I am a human being, not a demon.”

He was indeed human, but his attitude towards me was like a demon as long as I sang here.

“Sorry ... sorry, I didn't mean to make Sister Diana offended.”

Indeed I did not want to make him offended, I just clasped my hand tightly so as not to punch him in the face.

“Not more than a month you sing here, but you've got a lot of people's attention. Your contract is easily renewed. Just you sing people – people already applauded not because. You won't want to know what I have to do to get my contract extended every month Sophie,” she took a deep breath.I hope she doesn't vent to make me feel sorry for her.

“I've been singing here for more than six months Sophie and only the end of – this last time they noticed me. Not long after that, you took it from me. What really makes you special? You can play guitar, I admit. But your voice? Your face? I got everything you got. But why do they pay more attention to you?”

I saw his eyes glazed – glass.

“You are young, there are still many opportunities. Not just here. You don't have to pay the rent, the little baby who always needs milk and the guy I'm gonna have to pay to look after my son when I work. I don't even have a husband. And you remind me what the Boss said? He still wants to talk about my contract, and that's not a good sign. I need this job Sophie, this is all I know.”

Diana was almost crying. And I was right, I felt sorry for him. But more than that, I understand better why he's been so mean to me all this time. She is just a mother who has to meet the needs of her child. He wiped his tears.

“But it probably has to be this way. I shouldn't blame you.” Diana had already replaced her stage costume with tight jeans and a loose t-shirt. He patted me on the shoulder for a while then went outside.

While cleaning my face I thought about Diana's attitude. I don't think it's just the money and awards I get here. But I started to learn to better understand people. Not necessarily what they show is the same as what they feel. Like Hardin who asked me to think what my dream was true – true my heart desire. He's picking me up.
