CHAPTER 19: The Last Battle of Defense

The opponent Chao faced was the spear Infantry, which was about 1.8 meters tall which was almost the same as humans in general. It's just that there are no humans here. Meanwhile, Spearman's group faces heavy resistance from his enemies. They blocked the entrance to the Siege Tower, the Black Goblin had already taken control of the fortress area close to the Siege Tower. As a result, all the Spearmans were forced to clear them first, Fire bombs and Mana bombs they kept in order to destroy the Siege Tower. Chao jumped to and fro to avoid the enemy's spear attack, even though the wound was already numerous but Chao did not feel the pain of being too excited. Dodging the attack, Chao fired various shots, either from his shoulder cannon or his Mana Rifle.

Haytrea lets Spearman's army overcome that many enemies, though she is more than capable of helping them. Haytrea watched the battle down there, it was difficult to win if only to survive. Archers are still actively attacking compared to others, because what they need is high stamina and do not consume Mp or HP except special skills.

The Black Goblin infantry approached the gate, they did not carry a single siege ladder. A Gunner shouted in panic after realizing something.

"Stop them immediately! They're carrying explosives!"

Iza gasped at the screams. Without the coordination of anyone Writer and Mage moves to hold the enemy. A thin barrier appears near the gate created by Writer. The Mage attempted to attack the enemy with their skills, dozens of Wind Blade descending down to hold them off before the enemy made a suicide attack. Finally the enemy reached the gate with blood and wounds that adorned his body as a result of passing the Mage attack. All the explosives on their bodies were tied with a rope on their shoulders, it looked like a Fire Bomb but this one was darker, so there was a possibility it was a Dark Bomb.

One Black Goblin unleashed her Dark element magic while close to the city gate, precisely in front of the thin Barrier earlier. As expected it was the Dark Bomb, according to the way it was activated.

One explosion was triggered, followed by another explosion as the Black Goblin approached the Barrier one by one. After half of it passed, the Barrier finally broke. The writer hurriedly wrote a more powerful Barrier rune pattern when his Mp was sufficient in his Grimoire. New barrier created but late.

The Black Goblin's suicide blast turned out to be faster. The city gate was immediately hollowed out, almost destroyed because the explosion was right in the middle of the gate. The barrier was finished even though the gate had been destroyed, so it was a bit strange to see. The Mage chose to burn the remaining corpses of the enemies down there while hoping that the enemy was depleted. After a while of waiting there were indeed no enemy troops coming towards the West Gate. The Iza troops cheered in a loud voice as if they had gone through many wars that drained their energy and mentality. But instead Iza was thinking negatively about the current situation which he considered rather odd.
