The rain flushed the universe as the motorcade of hearse drove through the wet asphalt roads and puddles here and there. Taking Nata home, Hangga and Harum sit with their faces sad in a car carrying Nata's body to his final resting place.
While behind the hearse, there is a black SUV owned by Yuda that moves tailing behind him. Yuda with his family who consider Nata is a relative of Harum, also usher in the return of Harum's honeymoon. There are also some cars of his friends Nata and Hangga who also accompany. Melly and Jeremy—, her lover, Arya, as well as some friends who are mostly domiciled in Jakarta, helped deliver Nata's departure to his most beautiful place.
Hangga glanced at Harum who was sitting beside her. Harum's face was still covered in tears, while Hangga looked more resolute than before. Harum's husband has let Nata go. Rather than Nata constantly feeling immeasurable pain, maybe this is the best decision. The heart of Hangga gripped the roar every time she remembered Nata's howling of pain.
Hangga pulled Harum's head to lean on his shoulder. “Think Nata, Hum. Forgive all his mistakes. And never get tired of praying for her,” she said while rubbing the head of Harum who wore a white hijab.
The fragrance nodded gently. Allahummagfirlaha warhamha wa afiha wa’fu anha ... The prayer has been muttered Harum several times since Nata was declared dead.
“This is the house that asked to be buried in Cilegon, Mas?” tanya Harum whose head rests on the shoulder strapping Hangga.
“Hem,” said Hangga while looking at the coffin in front of him.
Nata had told, if he died later, he wanted to be buried in the cemetery of the Hangesga family in Cilegon. The reason, because Nata feels very happy if recognized as part of the Hanges family.
The heart of Hangga cring when remembering Nata who dumped his family. He had reported Nata's death to the family, but his wife's family seemed unconcerned. In fact, when Nata struggled with illness, not a single family came to see him. Only her grandmother and father cared a little. Provide support to Nata, even if only by phone. Nata's father lived in Manado and was also sickly, while Nata's grandmother died shortly after Nata was diagnosed with cancer for the first time.
While Hangga was still lamenting Nata's life, she felt a tremor in her shirt pocket.
“Hape you vibrate, Mas,” tell Harum while upholding his head which is in a position leaning on the shoulders of Hangga.
Hangga took the device out of his shirt pocket. His face looked surprised to see the number that made the call to him. A foreign number that is not in his contact list, but he can recognize from the profile photo of the caller.
“Halo, Brother,” said Hangga as soon as the call is connected. Fragrant who sat beside him, slightly frowned hearing the call ‘Kak’. Rarely does Harum hear Hangga call someone by the name ‘Kak’.
“Iya, Brother. Nata does not exist. Please forgive the mistakes of the late yes, Kak.”
“Died at dawn, Brother. And will be buried in Cilegon, in my family's funeral. Book a house like that, ask to be buried there.”
“Later to send the address, Brother. Our car is also still on the way.”
“Amin, amen. Thank you very much for your prayers, Brother.” After saying that, the phone call ended.
“Who's phone, Mas?” ask Harum.
“Sepupunya Nata. Said he wanted to come to the funeral.”
“Alhamdulilah there are still families who still care about the late Kak Nata.” Mango mangut-mangut hear the words Harum.
After about two hours of traveling, the motorcade arrived in front of the yard of the parents of Hangga who was already crowded with mourners. Both parents wait for the body of the son-in-law in his residence and prepare for the funeral with the help of the residents.
“Who died Bu Haji?” ask a resident to Miss Mirna.
“Hangga's wife who died,” replied Bu Mirna.
“Harum died?” The residents who were mostly unaware of Nata's status as the wife of Hangga were surprised to hear the answer of Hanges' mother.
“Ish, no. This is the second wife of Hangga who died.” The news of Nata's death even opened the veil of the marriage of the polygamy of Hangga.
Some of the fathers quickly moved as soon as the hearse arrived at the residence of the parents of Hangga. They helped lower the coffin and carried it into the house for a moment.
Ms Mirna squinted when she saw her son get off the hearse with a veiled woman. Hangga has not told about her encounter with Harum and she has referred Harum to her parents.
“Assalamualaikum, Ma'am,” greet Harum who has stood in front of Bu Mirna.
“Waalaikum greetings. H-harum? It's really Fragrant?” lontar Bu Mirna could not cover the surprised look mixed with happy ones.
“Iya, Mum.” Fragrant grabbed the hand of the mother-in-law and kissed her reverence. The mother responded by hugging her favorite daughter-in-law.
“Yes Allah, Fragrant. How are you doing, son? You healthy? Why not, son?” Ms. Mirna scanned her daughter-in-law from top to bottom with a worried look.
“Thank God I'm healthy, Mom. Mom and Dad how?”
“Mom and Dad aren't okay after losing you, son. We're worried about you. But, it's important now that mom has met you.” Miss Mirna said haru. “Mother is so happy. Very happy.”
Hangga's father also welcomed the arrival of Harum with a happy feeling. He told how his wife was after Harum's departure.
“Excuse Fragrance, Mom, Dad. That time Fragrance went without saying goodbye.”
“We're the ones apologizing, son. Because your departure was also at least caused by the actions of our son,” regretted Mr. Hendra—ayah Hangga.
Harum also believes that he is anchored to good people must also be because of the prayers of Miss Mirna, Mr. Hendra, Hangga and all those who love him. He's sure of it.
Harum then introduced the Bu Yusma family to his two in-laws. Both parents of Hangga welcomed kindly and unceasingly thanked him for keeping Harum.
Nata's body was buried for a moment at the residence of his parents. Some people took turns in front of the body of the wife of Hangga who had been bathed and pardoned. After that, the body of Nata's deceased was taken to the mosque to be crucified, before finally being taken to Rumah Bahagia.
The mourners who attended the funeral came home one by one. Leave the Hanges, Harum and Yuda who crouched in front of the navel Nata while muttering prayers in the heart. Harum and Hangga hitchhiked in Yuda's car as he left for the funeral. While Bu Mirna did not come to the funeral, waiting at home accompanied Bu Yusma and little Harum. While Pak Hendra-Hangga's car was filled with village officials such as Pak RT and Pak RW.
“We're home now, Hum?” lontar Hangga on Harum who wears all-white clothes. Harum replied with a nod.
Just now the three people stood up, came a beautiful woman approaching the navel Nata.
“Kak.” Hangga greeted the beautiful woman who was wearing all black clothes. He was about to introduce her to Harum, but the woman hunkered down in front of the navel Nata while wailing bitterly.
“Nata, I'm sorry. I'm late to see you. I just arrived in Indonesia yesterday. The plan today I want to visit you in the hospital, even now so visit you here like this.”
Hangga who was already standing, crouched back next to the woman who was none other than Nata's cousin.
“I'm also shocked, Brother. Yesterday Nata still looks fine,” said Hangga reminiscing about the moment yesterday. Nata even had time to fix the sleeves of the shirt that was rolled up to the elbow shortly before he held a marriage contract with Harum.
“You want marriage to be rolled up like this the sleeve of his shirt,” protest Nata who sits in a wheelchair. His frail hand lowered the roll of the sleeves of the white shirt that Hangga was wearing and buttoned it up perfectly.
“Not that time Nata has been declared cured? Why are we now dead?” a woman wearing all-black clothing and accessories looked at the tombstone bearing the name Natalia Friska Wayong.
“Iya, Brother. Nata was declared cured during the first cancer verdict. Then his cancer cells came again and gnawed at his body. Lastly, the doctor's diagnosis stated that the cancer in Nata's body had entered the final stage,” said Hangga explained.
“Nata hospitalized here?”
“In Jakarta, Kak.”
“Iya. I mean, you should have taken Nata abroad for treatment. At the very least, take it to a Singapore hospital.”
“Not all patients who are treated abroad will definitely recover,” yuda ketus timpal. “Medical science is the result of evidence-based research that is recognized worldwide. Standard treatment in Indonesia is not much different from that applied abroad. If even if there is a therapeutic incompatibility it is likely because the facilities are incomplete, not because of the poor quality of the doctor!” sambar Yuda did not accept.
The beautiful woman looked up at Yuda who was in a standing position. The sad rout that had been decorating the face gradually disappeared with his shock. His hand moved to remove the sunglasses perched on his nose. “Doctor Yuda?” sweep it with sparkling eyes.
Whahuh? Does he know my name? Yuda who was also wearing all black clothes stared at the confused and awkward woman who had now stood looking at him. “You know me?”
“Of course. I'll never forget you, uh doctor means.” The woman paused for a moment. “Doctor Yuda don't remember me?”
Yuda stared more intensely at the woman before him. Trying to recognize the curly haired woman hanging, but nil. Judah did not know the woman. Maybe the woman was the family of one of the patients he had treated. So, it was only natural that he did not remember. Her thought.
“Sorry I don't remember your figure.”
“I Nara, Doc.”
“Nara?”
“Iya. Inara. Jocelyn Inara.”
Yuda.
Jocelyn Inara's. Judah will never forget that name. The only student of his guidance who dares to send him a love letter. No kidding, the love letter amounted to twenty pieces of polio paper that made him almost vomit when reading it.
