The Little Girl in the Hospital

This happened while I was in the hospital xxx. At that time, I had just visited my mother who had just given birth to my first sister. Incidentally, I was told to stay there. Not felt, the clock continues to spin until it shows at 22:00 WIB. Tiredness approached me, when I closed the screen of the phone that had accompanied me who had not slept. I went out of my mother's room to get some fresh air.

The cold started stabbing my body as it passed through the hospital hallways. Silence includes the atmosphere of the hallway which is only illuminated by incandescent lights. A few minutes later, there was the sound of dogs barking melodiously on a hill not far from the hospital. I gasped and felt I was just circling along the hallway, but it was only 25 m from my mother's room to the hospital exit. The night sky pierced through my shadow which was then pecked in the middle of the hallway. My ears caught the clattering of footsteps and the giggling of someone echoed throughout the room.

The feathers of my nuduk bristled great. Cold sweat began to sway on the forehead. At the end of the hallway, suddenly a little girl stood up while staring at me. I stepped closer trying to see clearly who the girl was. Undeniably, my heart seemed to stop beating when faced with him. How not? His face was smeared with pus that melted to cause a stinging foul odor. My leg can't shake, stiff. I tried to turn around, my stomach was already feeling nauseous.

The girl seemed to approach me, her footsteps sounding clear. I faintly heard a loud voice calling my name. “Rina, help me!” I couldn't look back, fear started running through my body. I move my feet as much as I can to get away from it. Right at the moment the figure touched my shoulder, I immediately pangled and ran as fast as lightning. I don't care about her request, and it's even more strange why she knows my name.

I don't feel like I'm getting tired of running. When it stopped, I snapped. The hospital hallway was not as usual. What was once quiet and dark is now a lot of people who pass by and added with stable lighting. I stepped slowly and spread my gaze across the hall.

“Maybe they can tell me back to mom's room.” I approached one of the female nurses who was compiling the files at the reception desk.

“Excuse me Ma'am, I may ask for help.” There was no answer from her even the nurse did not turn her head in the slightest (when I asked, her nurse faced her back to me.) I called him again too.

“Mba---Arrghhhh!!” Suddenly, his hand was already clutching my neck. Apparently the people who are here are not human. The nurse's face was covered with knife wounds. Next to his eyes was covered in black liquid and his mouth was gaping wide until his saliva spilled. I shudder in horror at him. As powerful as I tried to let go of his strangulation that was getting stronger.

“YOU HAVE ENTERED OUR DIMENSION, NOW YOU MUST ACCEPT

PUNISHMENT!!”

“To...long!” my neck really hurts, I can't hold it anymore. Tears began to slide drop by drop from my eye sinks. I feel like my life is over. My head is dizzy, my eyes are starting to dim. But….

“RINA, HOLD!!” Suddenly, a spear slid quickly to hit the nurse's chest. Blood poured out profusely, the tightened hand on my neck just slipped away. I fell to the floor. A little girl immediately pulled my hand away from the nurse. We ran to the hill behind the hospital.

I sat down weakly while holding my slashing neck. The pain is like a knife still stuck.

“Your neck still hurts?” tanyakanya.

I nodded and then looked towards him. His face looked pale and sad, like it was storing the wounds and suffering that were painted there. His voice was also a little hoarse.

“Thank you for saving me, I don't know what will happen if you don't come.”

Unknowingly, my tears came back. I don't know where I am, I just want to go home. I want to go back to my mother's room, I want to be with my family who want to celebrate the birth of my first sister.

Suddenly, the girl patted me on the shoulder. “Rina, you want to come back and celebrate the birth of your first sister right?”

I was surprised how he knew my thoughts and strangely he also knew my name when we did not know each other. I nodded, but his look suddenly turned sad.

“Alright, if that's what you want. But before that, can you take a little bit of your time to play with me?”

I felt a little strange about his request. Wouldn't it be better if we return first to the real world, let alone the atmosphere here is getting gripping. But, since I wanted to return so much, I followed his wishes.

He took me to a garden surrounded by a variety of flowers, There were a group of butterflies gathered around him to suck the sari from the crown of flowers. The reflection of the moonlight greeted us by giving floating grains of light. We sat on a bench decorated by the roots forming waves. Really caught my eyes.

“What place is this, I have never seen it.”

“This is my favorite place. I spent time playing here.”

We were silent to let the silence envelop for a moment. I closed my eyes, holding the oxygen that had been choked earlier, the air here was so soothing that it penetrated into the soul. As soon as the pain in my neck disappeared, it was truly a miracle. Then, I looked at the girl who was still pecking beside me.

“Girl, you said you wanted to play, right? Come!”

“But your neck still hurts?”

“It no longer hurts, come on before I come back!” I pulled his hand. We went around the garden and picked a rose. I put one of those flowers in the girl's ear.

“You are so beautiful, girl!”

The girl blushed embarrassedly, I laughed amusedly at her.

Time seemed to stop, letting us play as much as it was accompanied by the crackling of night objects. Ride on a swing, catch a butterfly and dance under the moon.

Not feeling, we started to get tired. We chose to sit back on the bench before.

“You know Rani, I'm so happy to be friends with you. In my old life, no one wanted to be friends with me. They turned away from me and thought of me as a monster. But, you're different Ran! I don't want to part with you.”

“Girl, where maybe we'll split up. You know, I already consider you my best friend. When I get back, you'll be back, too, right? Besides, I can't wait to invite you to come to my sister's birthday celebration.”

Suddenly, the sound of bells spread throughout

parkland.

“What sound is it?”

“Looks like the sun is coming up soon. Rani, you need to get out of this dimension before this sound disappears. There's a luminous door, you can get out through that door.”

“Alright, come before it's too late.” I immediately pulled his hand, we ran towards that door. The sound of the clang began to shrink.

Upon arriving at the door, the girl immediately released her hand from my grasp.

“Girl, what are you doing. We have to get out!”

“No, Rani. My place is here, I can't go back to your place.”

“What are you talking about, we have both been stuck in this dimension. You are human and cannot live in a world that is not your place.”

The girl shook her head slowly. I could not let him stay alone, when he wanted to pull the girl's hand again he pushed my body so strongly that it was thrown into the door. I cried out to call out the name of the Girl, until the last smile was engraved on her face which became parting when the door was closed.

My consciousness began to gather when the voice of someone calling my name. Little by little my eyelids began to open and saw many people had swarmed me including my family there was also a hospital attendant.

“Rani, you've come to your senses, son! I'm so worried about you.” Mother immediately grabbed me into her lap, clearly visible from her swollen eyes, she cried all night.

“You disappeared from last night, Ran. We are very worried about what happened to you but thank God you survived.”

“Dad, Mom did you guys see the girl?”

My question made both my parents look confused. They said they didn't know who the girl was. At the time, I just wanted to meet a girl. I asked the officer, but they didn't know either.

I woke up and looked for the girl, and surrounded the hospital room but still did not find her. Suddenly, I remembered the last place we parted. Yeah, that park, I just ran right there.

Arriving there, I saw no sign of a girl. I'm tired, I can't find it. As my eyes slipped onto the garden bench, there was a piece of paper and a rose bracelet. I took the paper and saw that there was very neat handwriting.

Thank you for being my first friend. I'm so glad I got to know you. You know, my name's not a girl but I don't know why I like that name. Oh yeah, there's a little gift from me, maybe it's not as pretty as your work. I hope someday we can meet again.
