Nightmare Diaries
Black Winged Butterflies

"Come in, sit there." Ivan pointed to a sofa that was in the middle room facing the TV. The people who were welcome to enter immediately raised their feet to the soft object.

The man named Ivan was a student of Junior High School who had just migrated to Indonesia. Previously he settled in a country dubbed as ginseng country. You must know that, a country that gives birth to many seeds of its food. None other than South Korea.

His father Ivan is an Indonesian citizen while his mother is a Korean citizen. As a child who is crazy, he certainly has a good looking face, no wonder if he was famous when he first set foot in the elite school.

During the two days of school, he had gained many friends and some even invited him to become a friend. Well, the figure of Ivan is arguably a friendly person in getting along. As things stand today, her new friends are begging to be allowed to visit her home.

Ivan did not mind. He even had a dinner for his friends. Five friends came to visit this afternoon. Three men and two women. They are the closest friends to her, who often invite her to hang out together. Among them are Fandi, Bayu, Angga, Zehra, and Viola.

"Lo's house is also a luxury, Van." Sayu was amazed by the modern interior of Ivan's house. His eyes were ceaselessly staring at every corner of the house.

"Biasalah, the home of Korean artists." Angga.

"House is ordinary. Just a little added accessories so it looks luxurious." replied Ivan lowly.

"Well, Ivan was low enough to skyrocket him. Then I also want to add gold and silver made from natural materials, more practical." Bayu again.

"Ngaco Lo!" Zehra who was sitting next to Bayu knocked on his head.

"Aww!! Sick knows!"

Crisp laughter was heard filling the room saw the silly behavior of his friends who were not exhausted. Ivan felt grateful to have friends who did not look at their status and were as sincere as they were.

They spent hours at Ivan's house until dinner arrived. Ivan led his friends to the dining room. Apparently mama Ivan was ready with his cooking and just put it on the table.

"Come, sit!" mama Ivan said, Clarissa was friendly.

They nodded happily. One by one, they began to pull their seats. But, looking at Clarissa who had already bothered to make food for them. So the women moved to help the young woman.

"Let us help Auntie." bargain Viola and Zehra together.

At the dinner table, while waiting for the food to be served the three other friends of Ivan began whispering in praise of Clarissa.

"Well, Mama Lo is perfect, Van. It's beautiful, good, friendly again." said Bayu

"Yes, how lucky you are!" Fandi.

Ivan only responded with a smile. He was happy to give a positive impression to his new friends. His mother also always supported this first activity, so he did not need to worry when he had friendships with them the following days.

When food has decorated the dining table. They immediately put the side dishes on the plate and began to pray according to their respective religions. The sounds of clanking spoons and forks echoed throughout the room. Occasionally the jokes that are thrown from Bayu and Fandi invite laughter for all of them.

Out of nowhere a black butterfly came around the dining table. Of course with its existence it disturbs the enjoyment of those who are busy eating.

"Why did a butterfly suddenly come?" asked Viola who started to dispel the butterfly with her hands.

"I also don't know, it's rare for insects to come in here." Ivan answered honestly. "Let me drive out."

Ivan stood up and tried to chase after the butterfly, intending to make it go away but he still circled around the room occasionally going up to the ceiling playing with the lights.

"His friends don't want to go. What do we do?" Ivan gave up a few times the butterfly did not change course.

"At this time. He's not bothering us anymore, is he?" Angga.

They finally continued eating, which was delayed. Ivan still felt uncomfortable with the existence of the black butterfly. He just doesn't want to make his friends uncomfortable. Ivan turned his head up to check if there were still insects there and the answer must have been clear that he was still flinching there.

"You know what, people said in the past that if there were butterflies coming there must be something going on." Fandi spoke up to finish the silence.

"It's just a myth. You still believe that?" sahut Bayu's.

"It's not just a myth. There are still many people who believe in it today." Fandi defended herself.

"That's what Fandi said. Even in my family I still believe in those beliefs. Especially if the butterflies that come are black, it will be a sign for the host and the people in it will be hit by misfortune and misfortune. I don't really care either." Nimbrung Zehra who was chewing snapper.

"You are too old-fashioned to believe such things." said Bayu who is still cool with his opinion.

"Already, why fight the butterfly problem, anyway. We're enjoying Ivan's dinner. If you want to talk about it, it will be right back home. His host sass was even confused!" Viola who had been silent since then now rebuked them for unceasingly discussing about the butterfly myth.

They all turned to Ivan, who seemed confused by the conversation of his friends. Naturally, Ivan is not a native Indonesian citizen moreover he was not born in the land of Mother Earth so he did not know about those beliefs. Feeling guilty Ivan's friends apologized to him.

After a few minutes of waiting, Ivan finally revealed the trunk of his nose. Angga, who first realized that he was moving from his seat, approached Ivan.

"Van, I think we should go home. I was eight o'clock too afraid I'd say something again."

Ivan looked at the other friends who were also already standing.

"Yes Van, even if we're on the same bell as Angga so we also have to go home now." Bayu patted Ivan's shoulder. "Thank you for dinner at Lo's house. Sometimes it's legal again, rarely we get free food cake gini."

All laughed crisply at Bayu's words that had no shame. They also went out to Ivan's house where the car parked Angga there. Before leaving, they did not forget to say goodbye to Ivan and the roar of a noisy car filled the return of his friends.

The man smiled as the car disappeared from view.

...***...

A noise greeted Ivan as he entered the classroom. One of the students who caught his presence immediately exclaimed his name. Now everyone was staring at him intensely, like he was a guilty man. Suddenly, the class president, Farhan comes to him.

"Did Bayu, Fandi, Angga, Zehra and Viola play at Lo's house last night?"

"Yes, they even had dinner at my house. Why ya?"

Farhan did not answer, but he looked down. Not only Farhan but all of the class residents also lowered their heads. Ivan was immediately struck by confusion, he turned his eyes to the bench his friends were only empty in sight.

"Where are they? What happened to them?!" Ivan started to panic.

"Calm down, Van. Don't feel guilty okay. I'll explain all this." Farhan pulled me to sit down first.

"Gini.tadi dawn I got word of the car being boarded by Angga and other severe accidents due to leaking car tires. They fell into the abyss. And the five, all of them died..." Farhan stopped when he heard Ivan's voice.

Yes, the man had shed tears. He was in great shock to hear this news. Farhan immediately hugged her trying to calm the man down.

"It must be my fault. I invite them to eat, if I know kek gini I will not give them permission to come."

"No, Van! It's not your fault, I told you not to feel guilty. This is God's destiny for them."

Ivan's cries became more and more. He really did not expect his close friends to have left so soon. Farhan did not comment much after that he announced anyone who would represent to come to his condolences to his late classmates.

Hours of rest, after getting permission from the secretary Ivan with a group of more than five people went to the TPU. There are still visible families of each deceased, cries and grief are also still filling the area. They also touched the people who were in that place. Not wanting to waste time, they immediately performed a prayer-reading ritual.

A few minutes passed, and one by one the pilgrims started to go home. Ivan's friends had also gone home first only left him and Farhan who was still staring softly at the grave ground.

"Hopefully they can be calm and peaceful in nature there huh, Van."

"Yes." I hope they suffer more...

...***...

"Hahahhaha you are indeed a clever boy, Ivan."

"Ma, if only mama saw would be very satisfied!! I almost laughed when I saw their families who were really lost. Crying is non-stop. But yes, I'm a bodo, that's not me. Ahahahahah!!"

"Wiggle your friends who act that mama already gatel to want to kill them during the dinner yesterday. Fortunately you code your mama so mama doesn't suck at intervening."

"It's usually Ma, people who can only look at the physical and material people never have sincerity to make friends. Like my old school. I'm sick of seeing people like that."

"Yaudah, as an appreciation mom make your favorite food."

Ivan raised both his thumbs. The man sat sweetly on the dining table chair waiting for the dishes. Out of nowhere, a black butterfly flashed before Ivan's face. It's like the incident where his friends came. And it made Ivan angry so he remembered those sickening memories.

"Fucking butterfly!"

Ivan went up to the table to catch the insect. He saw a knife lying on the table, his right hand reaching for it. If it can't be caught at least he'll kill it with this knife. The butterfly continued to fly while Ivan continued to chase after him. Because he was too focused on the butterfly, he did not realize that his feet were at the end of the table.

"Here you butterfly!!"

And...Ivan bounced down while the knife in his hand was accidentally stuck in his chest area. Hearing the sound of something falling Clarissa immediately turned her head and found her son covered in blood.

A black-winged butterfly stood on top of the knife.
