Nadine walked closer to Christian who was lying on his back to the entrance.
"Girl!" Nadine patted the young man on the back.
Christian jumped in shock and immediately turned to look at Nadine. Christian's eyes looked teary.
Is Christian crying?
Christian quickly rubbed his eyes to wipe away the damn tears.
"Hi, Nadine," Christian forced a smile on Nadine.
"You crying?" Tanya Nadine who quickly grabbed the tissue on the bedside table and rubbed it into the Christian netra.
"No. I'm just.." Christian's tongue suddenly felt faint.
How will Chris explain to Nadine?
Nadine helps Christian to get up and lean on the headboard.
"How's your leg?" Nadine asked as she looked at Christian's right foot, which is now in the cast.
"Just finished the operation. Only recovery remains" replied Christian who still insisted on smiling.
"You sad? You want to tell me?" Nadine asked again as if she could read the sadness in Christian's heart.
"Papa won't let me play basketball again after this" Christian replied in a sad tone.
"Yesterday during the match I deliberately persuaded papa to come to watch my match. I wanted to show my dad that I was serious about being a basketball player. I want to show Papa that I have potential. But everything was beyond expectations. Why should there be such a stupid incident while papa was watching my match?" Imbuh Christian at length as if he was spilling his frustration.
Nadine grabbed Christian's hand and held him tightly.
"You know? I spoke to your father before I came into this room" said Nadine, to Christian's surprise.
"What papa nagging you?" Christian asked worriedly.
Nadine smiled,
"No, Chris! Papa you are good," replied Nadine solemnly.
"We talked for a long time," added Nadine again.
"What did you say?" Ask Christian curiously.
"Your father told me to come in and tell you, if from now on papa you won't ban you from playing basketball anymore. You can still play basketball after your feet recover" said Nadine still smiling at Christian.
"You managed to persuade papa?" Christian did not believe.
"I didn't persuade him. I'm just telling you all the truth about you and basketball. About your potential in basketball. And about your life that would be empty without that orange ball" Nadine said at length.
"God! I really want to hug you right now" Christian sparkled happily.
Nadine immediately approached Christian and hugged the young man.
"Stay excited and don't give up!" Nadine patted Christian on the back.
"Can I kiss you now?" Christian asked again, smiling mischievously at Nadine.
"In your dreams!" Cibir Nadine who immediately shook Christian's head.
"That's nasty. Aren't I your husband's candidate?" Christian temptation is still unyielding.
"I have no plans to get married in the near future" Nadine said, chuckling.
Christian chuckles.
"But I will remain your future husband, whenever you're getting married" Christian said confidently.
"One big pede!" Nadine muttered that she had not stopped laughing.
Nadine took Christian's phone from his bag.
"It's your phone! Your bag and your change of clothes are still at home and I haven't had time to bring them" Nadine said, giving Christian a cell phone.
"For you!" Christian replied in a relaxed tone.
The young man immediately turned on his phone.
"What?" Nadine frowned not understanding.
"My bags and my clothes are for you. You save it for mementos" said Christian once again answering Nadine's confusion.
"I'm not your fan. Why keep your things?" Nadine is mocked.
"You're my future wife. Remember that? You'll need it when we're LDRs later" said Christian.
"Can we stop talking about future wives and future husbands? I don't think it's time we think about it yet" Nadine said, holding her back and putting on an upset face.
Christian chuckles.
"alright. I'll call you a girlfriend then," Christian said with a cool-ass face.
"We? A boyfriend? I'm still traumatized" Nadine pretended to think.
Nadine chuckles,
"Faithfully loyal? Later on in Amrik see clear you smitten. Forgot me" said Nadine, sneering.
"Hoho, I'm not that kind of guy. I told you the same. If I'd been loyal to one girl," Christian raised his eyebrows.
"You can come with me to Amrik if you don't believe me" Christian added.
"Hmmmmm. Sorry, rich sir. My father couldn't afford to pay for my college in Amrik, "he overwrite, Nadine's serious.
"Hey! You are close to my papa. How about you just ask my papa to pay for your college," Christian suggested suddenly.
Nadine was back to laughing.
"What am I really? Ask papa you to pay for my college? Haduuh did not know the effect," said Nadine still chuckling.
"And you're my father's favorite son-in-law" Christian raised his eyebrows again.
"I have damaged my image as a prospective son-in-law if it has been matre at the beginning" muttered Nadine who was heard by Christian.
"Tu right! Then you agreed to be my father-in-law's future. That means you agreed to be my future wife, too" Christian said confidently.
"Udahlah! I'm lazy if you talk about the future wife continues," Nadine cut her throat and cross her arms.
"All right I'm sorry, beautiful Nadine" Christian pleaded with her hands to ask for forgiveness.
"All right, I'm sorry, '" Nadine returned Christian's hand. But as fast as lightning, Christian pulls the girl into his arms.
"Girl!!" Nadine rebels.
"What's? I just want to hug you," rogue Christian sergeant.
The young man tightened his grip on Nadine.
"Basic!!" Nadine banged Christian in the chest.
"Are you ready for a long-distance relationship with me?" Christian's whisperings in Nadine's ears.
Nadine looked up at Christian's netra.
"Ready ready," replied Nadine trying to smile.
"I'm still hoping you'll come with me there" Christian leaned his chin over Nadine's head.
"You'll be back here later. Why do I have to go there?" Said Nadine who now buried her head in Christian's arms.
"You're gonna wait for me to come home?" Ask Christian again.
"I have no choice anymore" replied Nadine chuckling.
"By the way, I brought you a gift" said Nadine, who remembered her gift to Christian.
"Oh, huh? What gift?" Chris had already let go of his hook on Nadine. The young man looked excited at Nadine's surprise gift.
"Start!"
Nadine takes her bag and takes a present for Christian.
"Tora!!" Nadine took out a stack of paper and gave it to Christian.
"What's this?" Christian asked his forehead.
"Your job today. You have to work on it, so that tomorrow I can collect it to school," Nadine explained, smiling with satisfaction.
"Ouh wicked! Why don't you help me do it?" Christian put on a melas face.
"I'm sick, Nad!" Imbuh Christian is still clear.
"Those feet hurt, okay! You can still work on it. Comeing! I help!" Nadine gave the order.
The girl took the pen from inside her bag and gave it to Christian.
"Come, work!" Nadine's orders once again.
Christian could only sigh and start working on the matter on the sheet. Nadine helps Christian once in a while when the young man is having a hard time.
