Nadine and Nathan

Nadine and Nathan
#19

After a journey of approximately fifteen minutes, the car driven by Nadine into the parking lot of the cafe om Vian. Nathan got out first, after the car parked properly. The young man walked leisurely with his cane into the cafe.

Nadine and Christian follow Nathan behind. The atmosphere of the cafe this afternoon is quite crowded. Maybe because it's Sunday.

"Nathan!" Nadine patted her twin sister on the back.

"That's not papa?" Nadine pointed to one of the tables in the corner of the cafe. There was papa Dion chatting with Vian.

Nathan turned his gaze in the direction Nadine pointed.

"Yes. That is papa. Join in there!" Take Nathan fast while swinging his steps towards papa Dion's desk.

"Hi, Nathan, Nadine!" Om Vian who first saw Nathan and Nadine who came directly to greet the twins. Papa Dion turned his seat and frowned when he saw his two children,

"What are you doing here?" Papa Dion asked, staring in turn at Nathan and Nadine.

"Supply free meals. What else is it?" nathan replied, chuckling.

"Siang, om Vian," Nathan greets Vian while doing tos. The young man immediately sat on an empty chair beside Om Vian. Nadine and Christian sit in an empty chair next to Dion.

"What's the matter here, man? Lunch by himself, his son not invited." Nadine protested.

"Papa is having some business with Vian," replied Dion as he ruffled Nadine's hair.

"Where are you guys out of workouts?" Ask Vian and point at Nadine and Christian who are still wearing basketball jerseys.

"In the minicourt at Nadine's house, Om," Christian answered quickly.

"How's your nose, Chris? Did you hear it broke in that final game?" Father Dion asked Christian.

"It's better, Om," Christian replied with a smile.

"Come with the victory you finally achieved. Rather than the knee being injured but getting nothing," Nadine chimed in and patted Christian on the back. The girl was like she was just insinuating Nathan.

In the light, Nathan who sat in front of Nadine immediately threw a straw at his twin brother. Nathan's face looked upset,

"Nyindira!" Nathan's grouse is sebal.

Nadine and everyone at the table laughed.

"Casual, Nathan! You'll recover and be even better after this injury" Vian embraced Nathan's shoulder and encouraged.

"Om Vian used to be injured like you, and when he recovered suddenly he became great on the court," Dion's father chimed in.

"Here you go, Nad!" Nathan throws a straw back at Nadine. The teenage girl just sneered.

"Oh yes, Chris. Have you been on a scholarship at the University?" Papa Dion asked Christian.

Nathan and Nadine stared at Christian.

"Why not? Your skills are amazing, Chris. You must have a full scholarship," Nadine who first opened her voice.

Christian slicked his shoulders,

"Mama and Dad forbid me from playing basketball again after graduating high school. Maybe they'll send me to study business abroad" Christian said, looking down.

Nathan looked concernedly at Christian. The most painful thing about a basketball player is when the family was never supportive. Nathan really just found out that Christian has been experiencing this all along.

Christian himself actually comes from a family that is. Christian's parents' wealth is well known throughout the country. Maybe that's why Christian's parents ended up opposing his son to be a basketball player. Chris is the only son in his family. Maybe Christian's parents just want Chris to focus on their family business.

Nadine patted Christian on the back just channeling strength to the young man,

"Even if you really want to recruit you into the club, Chris," said papa Dion broke the silence.

"Chris actually wants to get into the club, too, Om. But papa still hasn't given permission. Maybe Chris should bury deep into Chris' dream of becoming a professional basketball player like Dion, "Christian smiled wryly.

"Girl!" Om Vian open the sound.

Christian looked at the middle-aged man, though,

"Consider the selection of scholarships at the university. If you get away, at least you can prove to your parents that your basketball skills are useful" advised om Vian sage.

"Om Vian is right, Chris. Maybe your parents will change their minds after you can prove your true talents," Nathan chimed in.

"Nothing is impossible, Chris. You just have to try it," Nadine followed suit.

Christian put a smile on his lips. Chris did not expect that people who are not his family even support Chris sincerely. Even Nathan who is famous as Christian's eternal enemy on court also supports and encourages Chris.

"Alright, I'll try it," Christian finally breaks up. The young man also nodded with confidence.

And everyone at the table smiled as they breathed a sigh of relief.

I hope this is the right decision.
