My Ottoman Girl

My Ottoman Girl
Surprise Meeting

" Then how do you know Aygul and I were in a relationship?" ask me again

" I was on vacation back to Malaysia when I looked at my parents. Then I visited the Emir's house, accidentally my wife saw a picture of the Emir with Aygul and you and a pair of female men who were put in large pairs with pigoras and placed on the walls of the Emir's house." Syafri told me something that intrigued me.

I nodded my head and I smiled in amazement Subhanallah the Most Holy and Almighty of Allah SWT moved His servant thousands of kilometers to become one in the sacred bond of marriage and new brotherhood.

After all the dishes were wiped clean by both of us. I immediately took Syafri out of the restaurant. We walked to the loby. Syafri's car was deliberately parked in the valley and the hotel attendant immediately picked up the vehicle after Syafri gave his key and parking card.

" Syafri, do you see Aygul often?" ask me slowly trying to suppress the pounding on the chest.

Syafri smiled broadly. He's nodding. My heart is back. Surely men know all about Aygul all this time. I will slowly extract the evidence from his mouth.

" House Aygul a bit far from the hotel where you stay About 4 hours drive that we have to travel. But do not worry you can rest in this train." he said with Malay language that has been mixed.

I laugh. In Jakarta, 4 hours is the usual time. Because the trip is a few kilo meters only if it is stuck in traffic will be 2 or 3 hours more .

" It's okay. I really enjoyed this trip. Can you stop at one of the flower shops?" my door to her. I'd like to buy you a white Tulip tie for Aygul.

" It doesn't matter, man." Answer

" Shafri can you tell me a little bit about Aygul now? I haven't seen him in a long time.Is there anything I don't know?"I'm trying to dig up information about my ex-girl.

Shafri I saw rather surprised by my question. But only for a moment. A moment later he nodded.

I cheered in my heart. I finally got some information about him. The Emir remained with his firmness with a promise to Aygul perhaps Syafri did not.

" What do you want to ask?" continued

" Is Aygul married? "Maybe this is the most ridiculous question I've ever asked in my life.

If he's married how could he possibly dare to contact me again? after that, I cursed at my question.

Syafri just smiled.

" I don't know. If she's married I've never seen her husband. If she's not married why is she never in the crowd again? " sayfrie answered to make me dissatisfied.

Ah Syafri why are you making me even more curious.

" Is she okay, man? When was the last time you met her? " many More

"6 months ago. And at that time he was no longer working at the University where he taught" he replied casually.

What happened to you, Aygul? I ask myself in my heart.

The car we were driving stopped in front of a fresh flower shop. Lots of beautiful flowers. I chose a bouquet of white lilies and white rose. After I paid for it I immediately went out to Syafri.

I carefully placed the tulip bouquet in the second row of passenger seats.

" Do you love Aygul very much? " Syafri's question suddenly shook me.

If I loved her so much why did I let her go. I squeezed my own hand. But if I don't love her why am I still thinking about her? Even today I struggle to get her again.

" Have I come here enough to answer your questions, my friend? " my answer is straightforward.

He chuckled while driving a European sedan.

" If love has eyes, the blind cannot fall in love. If love has ears, the deaf will not feel the beauty of love. Because love has a heart and a taste, all the creatures of this world will have the right to feel it." He said with a smile that still leaves a puzzle.

I imbued his words. It is true that love has a heart and a taste so that he will return again to seek his master. Find the heart that has it.

Not long after his car had entered the area of Selcuk City which was in Izmir province. The city is very quiet and cool. It does not appear large tall modern buildings or the bustle of the city in its public.

The road is still in the form of paving blocks but all that does not reduce the beauty of this city.

I just found out Aygul lives in a city this quiet. As far as I know he and his family lived in Istanbul not far from the hotel where I stayed. I've lost a lot of news about him.

In this city holds many relics of the long history of Human civilization ranging from the Greek, Roman and Ottoman eras. In ancient Greece there were ruins of the old city of Ephesus. Then there is the Church of St. Paul in the Roman era and Ali Bey Mosque in the Ottoman era. We arrived at Pakul 13.00 local time.

Syafri asked me if I had any intention of staying overnight in this city?

I consider the distance and time that is quite long if I have to go back to my hotel. Not to mention my meeting with Aygul that will somehow take how long. Then accept the offer.

We were looking for an inn that felt close to the Aygul residence.

Since I had brought a change of clothes, I did not need to buy any more clothes at the souvenir shop along the way to the inn.

The inn we were going to was an ancient inn but still looked beautiful and clean. There are 20 rooms with U letter building model. I rented 2 rooms so that Syafri could have some privacy for her break.

I brought some hands that I had prepared for him. And one parcel I gave to Syafrie. He was very happy to receive the souvenir I brought from Indonesia. I gave you 1 genuine leather handbag made by a craftsman in Dad's company. Ohya Dad has long wrestled with the business of handicraft cowhide that has been languishing in foreign countries especially the American region. From the reliable hands of his craftsmen came out the wallet, various bags and various belts and shoes of women and men.

I often bring some purses for me to give as souvenirs to my friends and business relations. All promotions are running. And sometimes the feed back of the relations is very good they finally order also for entertainment purposes in his company. And now this business has also been handed down by my father to manage.

Only 15 minutes drive to Aygul house. a permanent building with a large yard looks comfortable in my eyes. some ornamental flowers are also neatly arranged. This Mediterranean building is very large if compared to the house next to it.

Some of the houses that are near in his house actually have a space that is rather far away. But the environment did not leave a friendly and warm impression. Syafri rang the bell on the fence of the house. 2x he rang the bell then an old man came out to see us.

" Good after sir." his greeting

The man blinked his eyes looking at us.

" Good After Young Man. Who are you looking for? " ask her

" Iam looking for Miss Aygul, sir" she replied

The old man seemed a little doubtful. Then Syafri said again

" Iam Is Elif Husband"

Suddenly, the old man looked awkward and immediately opened the fence.

" Excuse me for clear rude" He apologized for his disrespectful attitude. The car has entered the courtyard of this house.

What would I be if I were to meet myself without Syafri. I'll be a stranger lost in this country.

We were let into the house. Syafri seems to be familiar with the condition of Aygul's house.

The house looks empty. I saw the photo on the white wall. There are some pictures of the Aygul family. There are photos of Aygul's childhood and adolescence there.

A middle-aged woman came out from inside the room.

"Assalamualaikum teyze" (auntie in Turkish) greeted Syafri when he saw the woman.

The woman smiled and accepted Syafri's hand . I also extended my right hand to greet him.

"Waalaikum Salam Syafri" he replied

" Pardon our sudden arrival Teyze, Syafri escorted a guest away from Indonesia "

" Include me Hafiz teyze" said I follow Syafri calling Teyze in English. And it seems he understood what I said.

" It's good to have guests from far away. What is with Elif? " ask her.

Syafri answered only with me and we're here to meet with Aygul.

Teyze Hafsa's face looked a bit moody then she called out to Aygul.

I told her not to say that I was the one who was visiting because I wanted to give her a little surprise.

Aygul's room is in the middle of the room bordering the family dining room.

I was still down while playing my camera strap. I imagined a very sweet meeting. A bouquet of white Tulips was still on my lap.

After a while, my ears heard the sound of wheels turning from within. Reflexes I immediately turned my head to see the origin of the sound.

" Aygul! "

Kontan I shouted his name when I saw a girl I had long missed.

The rose from my desert just silently pegged noiselessly. Her eyes were glazed over and a few tears started to drip down her cheeks.

I saw my ex-girl sitting in a wheelchair. His eyes had been soaked by the tears that had been dripping slowly since. I was actually surprised by her appearance at the time but I tried to hide my surprise.

I glanced at Syafri and I saw her face water flat there was no surprise there. Maybe he already knows Aygul's condition.

" Hafiz. This is my reality now" he said sobbing.

My heart was torn to shreds hearing his words.

I walked up to him and sat down near his feet. I handed her my bouquet of Tulips in her hands. Then I put his head in my arms.

The longing that I have been saving for 4 years is gone but leaves a pain that is in seeing the state of my desert rose.
