Chapter 73. Not Conform to Expectations

"I want a divorce!"

Rara's words made Adam like he was struck by lightning, he was shocked and in disbelief.

"I don't want to!" Reject Adam firmly.

His voice turned high, the man shook his head. "I don't want a divorce" he said honestly.

Rara looked at Adam not understanding what the man wanted. Why after all the pain and traitor she's been doing now she doesn't want a divorce. Wouldn't it be nice if they split up so that Adam could freely love Maelin or anyone the man liked, Rara thought.

"Why?"

"Because you're my wife."

Hearing Adam's words made Rara's tears come down again.

"I don't want to be your wife anymore. Just find me" said Rara.

Rara got up from her squat. Turned to walk away from Adam.

But just one step Adam pulled Rara's hand until his body hit Adam's muscular chest.

Adam cupped both of Rara's cheeks and raised the face until their eyes met and locked.

"No matter what I feel. No matter if there is love or not in my heart. That is clear and certain that you are my wife. There's nothing else."

Hearing Adam's words did not make Rara proud but instead grew even more disgusted and resentful towards the man.

"Deliver!" Rara threw Adam's hand from her cheek violently.

"Don't dream for me anymore, because I don't want to. I want us to divorce!" Shouted Rara. The one who was immediately answered by Adam.

"Plac!"

Adam slapped Rara's cheek. Although not as strong as calm but the smooth cheek action was flushed. Makes Rara not believe what Adam did to her

It was not only Rara who was shocked. Adam was shocked by his overreaction to slap Rara. But the words of divorce that Rara spoke made her instantly become frightened. Afraid of losing that woman. The woman who had been his wife all this time. The mother of her children, the one who always patiently waited for her to return home. People who are always kind and respectful. The woman who always smiled even though Adam put on a sour face. Adam is afraid Rara is gone, gone from her life.

Adam doesn't care what Rara does. The man turned his body towards the door and chose to leave the room just like that instead of calming Rara who was crying in frustration at not being able to do anything about it. Can't run even if it's hurt and destroyed. Yeah, Rara's totally ruined now.

He could only shed his tears with his head drooping on the mattress and his body sitting on the floor. So pathetic. The rice is so sad.
