EP21 Break up

"I love you mas"

"I love you too dear"

Lately Vernon is very busy with his office work. Because the company suffered considerable losses, Vernon often went out of town. Vernon does not have the heart to leave Sofia, but he must work to improve his company's finances.

Sofia's days passed as usual. Sofia always tries to understand Vernon's work, though she feels lonely once in a while because Vernon is not at his side.

During Vernon's departure out of town, Sofia is accompanied by her best friend Angel and Rey.

With Rey, he spends more of his time. Sofia is very comfortable being near Rey, but according to Sofia, Rey is nothing more than a friend to her.

After Vernon returned from out of town, of course he had heard his lover who often spent time with Rey. Though previously, Vernon had warned Sofia not to be alone with Rey. But it seemed Sofia did not listen to Vernon's words, which made Vernon quite disappointed.

Tonight Vernon invites Sofia to have dinner with him. For a long time, the two of them had not been together. In addition to wanting to let go, Vernon also wants to try to talk carefully about his dislike for Rey who continues to approach Sofia, and wants to talk about something more important.

Vernon was waiting for Sofia in front of his house. He heard that the door of the house was open, and out came the girl he had missed all this time, smiling at him.

Vernon approached Sofia and immediately hugged her. He misses his girl very much. "I miss you so much dear" said Vernon.

"I miss you a lot too" Sofia replied.

After they finished giving up their homesickness, they headed for the fancy restaurant that Vernon had ordered earlier.

Upon entering the restaurant, Sofia was astonished because there were no visitors at all at the restaurant. This luxurious restaurant has no visitors. Sofia's inner self in the heart.

The servants allowed Sofia and Vernon to sit in the prepared place.

When Sofia starts eating, she feels the food is very good, but she feels confused why this place is quiet if the food is that good.

"Mas, the food here is really good. But it's quiet" asked Sofia.

Vernon chuckled at Sofia's question.

"I've booked this entire restaurant just for the two of us tonight" Vernon replied.

"Why did you do that? it is not necessary to reach all" said Sofia.

"It's okay, baby. I don't want anyone to interrupt our dinner" Vernon's words made Sofia's face red.

Vernon who saw that was very anxious and pinched Sofia's cheek.

"Darling, I want to ask you something" said Vernon.

"What do you want to ask?"

"As long as I'm gone, you're still seeing Rey alone, aren't you?"

"Not really, sometimes there are angels too. But you know, Angel is busy approaching brother Joshua" replied Sofia.

Vernon does know his girlfriend's best friend who is approaching his brother Joshua.

"But it can, do not need to meet Rey if the Angel does not exist" said Vernon.

"Mas, Rey is just my friend. I never thought she was more than a friend" Sofia tried to convince Vernon.

"Mas, that Rey never took me away from you. Every time we have a problem, he always helps us fix our relationship"

"That's just her tactic so you can feel comfortable around her. I beg you dear, don't see her again" Vernon said softly.

"I can't." replied Sofia.

"Why can't it?" Vernon was starting to get upset.

"Rey's always there when I need to. He always helps me whenever we both have problems, helps encourage me to be very tired, and he also comforts me when I feel sad"

"Why are you saying that Sofia? you know that you have been working so hard because you have to compensate the company. You yourself said you would understand the work of the mas, and you also promised not to meet Rey alone" Vernon said at length.

"Yes, I know I'm wrong here. Because of me, the mas company lost billions of rupiah. I am indeed the unlucky carrier in the life of the mas" said Sofia had begun to get carried away with emotions.

"You're not wrong, honey. Please stop blaming yourself like this"

"We better break up"

"What's? why did it suddenly break up?" Vernon is surprised by Sofia's sudden words asking for a break up.

"I'm the unlucky bearer of your life. Because of me you have to endure all this. We rarely talk to each other either. So we better break up" Sofia said holding back her tears.

"Why does breaking up so easily come out of Sofia's mouth? I told you you're not a fucking carrier. Or maybe you're asking to break up because you've secretly been caught cheating on Rey?"

Hearing that made Sofia hurt. He slapped Vernon on the cheek. "Don't talk to you! I never cheated on you" Sofia's defense collapsed, she cried. Sofia immediately walked out of the restaurant. His heart aches even more when he sees Vernon not chasing after him.

Vernon POV

He said break up. My heart seemed to collapse hearing his words. Is it that easy to break a relationship? because it carried my emotions to say that he had been having an affair with the man. Because of that, he slapped me. I saw her crying, wanting to embrace her immediately. I couldn't see the girl I loved crying, but she just left. I want to hold him. But I realized, maybe parting is the only way.

I couldn't keep her company, because Dad told me to go abroad. Actually I wanted to tell Sofia about this, and wanted to have her wait for me until all this work was done and want to apply for her right away. But seeing her so comfortable with Rey, made me think again about saying it.

Sofia has no right to wait for me. I just made her feel lonely and sad. This time I lost. Rey managed to get Sofia's comfort, without having to snatch it from me.

I just hope Rey can really make Sofia happy. I'm sorry Sofia, I love you so much.

Sofia came home crying. Her tears did not stop. He called his best friend Angel. Angel, hearing Sofia's cry, decides to go to Sofia's house.

He saw his best friend who kept crying. Angel came to Sofia.

"Lo why Fi? why do you cry gini?" angel asked while hugging Sofia.

"Gue breaks up Angel" Sofia's cry gets louder.

"Huh? breaking up? why can?"

Sofia begins to recount the events that happened, hearing that Angel is trying to calm Sofia down.

Elsewhere, Vernon was preparing his requirements for departing for France tomorrow morning. Of course his heart was still very broken, he missed Sofia very much. But he had no other choice.
