Asmaul Husna the Most Noble
Asmaul Husna or the most glorious name of Allah is found in the following two verses.
Quran Surat Al-Baqarah verse 255:
.. ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ
“That means: Allah, there is no God (who has the right to be worshipped) but He Who lives eternally again continuously takes care of (his creatures)..".
Surah Ali Imran verse 1-2
الٓمّٓ, اللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۙ الۡحَىُّ الۡقَيُّوۡمُؕ
“That means : Alif Laam Miim. Allah, there is no God (who has the right to be worshipped) but Him. Eternal Life continues to take care of His creatures".
Understanding the Meaning of Asmaul Husna
Ustaz Abdullah bin Taslim al-Buthoni said, understanding the names of Allah who is most beautiful and His attributes are most perfect is a very important discussion in Islam, Islam, even including the most important and main part in realizing perfect faith in Allah SWT.
Because this monotheism is one of the two types of monotheism that became the main foundation of faith in Allah Azza wa Jalla. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim rahimahullah said:
“The main joint (the key) of happiness, salvation and good luck is to establish two types of monotheism which are the foundation of the firming of faith in God that Allah will manifest by sending His apostles.
Tawhid al-‘ilmi al-khabari al-I’tiqadi (tawhid related to science/understanding, which comes from the news/revelation of God solely, and concerns the belief in the heart), and, it contains the establishment of infallible qualities for God, and the sanctification of His attributes from the oblivion (with the nature of being), and the absence of those qualities which show the lack of Him.
2. Self-sacrifice to Allah Azza wa Jalla and no ally to Him purifies love, sincerity, fear, hope and self-reliance to Allah Azza wa Jalla , and the attitude of pleasure to Allah Azza wa Jalla rabb (creator), worship and the only protector, and make no match for Him with all things.
As a creature of Allah SWT, a Muslim needs to learn and know its properties by knowing the 99 Asmaul Husna and its meaning.
In addition to understanding the relationship of a being with His Creator, the purpose of knowing 99 Asmaul Husna is to make more sense of the greatness and majesty of the Creator.
