Chapter 30
Wildy was silent and only looked at Dinda who suddenly had her brain down to Pentium 1.
"Where is it possible, Wil. You and I are really married? We don't love each other."
"We are both hurt by our loved ones. We can definitely be a couple who look after each other, cherish and treat the wounds of the heart."
"Wil, I appreciate what you told me, but the reason we got married is wrong. Marriage should be for love. And we never loved each other."
"That's because we never open our hearts to each other. But now, how about we start learning to love each other?"
"Wil, we are in office. It is impossible for us to really fall in love. If it works, what if it doesn't!? Our friendship will be weird going forward."
Wildy clasped Dinda's hand. "Din, with you, I want to bet! I want to learn to love you, and I want you to learn to love me as a lover, as a future husband."
Dinda pulled his hand. "Sorry, Wil. I don't think I'm ready to start a new love."
"Aren't you going to see your parents forever!?"
Dinda tried to talk but eventually she undoed her intentions and fell silent.
"Didn't you miss them?" wildy fishing rods.
Dinda's eyes glazed over. "Kangen, Wille. I miss them. I want to go home, but I'm afraid to see Dodi again. My heart is not ready. Here," said Dinda stroking her heart. "it still hurts a lot, still hurts," Dinda continued, shedding tears. "I don't know how to deal with it."
"Wear me, Din. Wear me as your shield! If he finds out, you're married. He will not bother you anymore. We can take your parents, to stay here with us."
Dinda took a deep breath while looking at Wildy. "I don't know what to say Wil. But I still can't forget Dodi. He's still here, and I don't know how to forget him!"
"Therefore Dinda," Wildy took Dinda's hand again and kissed her softly, "give yourself a chance to step up and not continue to dwell in your past. With me, dad?" add Wildy while waiting for a reaction from Dinda.
"Come Wil," replied Dinda hesitatingly. "I don't want to lose a good friend like you. If it works, what if our relationship doesn't work?"
"Believe me, Din. I'll be loyal to you. We will learn to love each other, to complement each other. I believe we can both walk into the future together."
"If I'm to get married, I have my doubts, Wil. Sorry, I can't do it yet. But, I promise I will learn to accept you as a man in my life. But if this relationship doesn't work out, how will Wil. I don't want to lose a friend like you."
"You will never lose me as either your best friend or your future husband. I trust Din, we can definitely fall in love with each other and when that happens, I want to, we get married. I don't want to delay any longer, Din."
"Wil, what's wrong with you?!" Dinda is completely confused by Wildy's current offer and attitude.
"When I saw you crying, suddenly inside here. I also felt sadness in my face. I don't want to see you sad anymore, Din. I want to make you happy and always smile. The trick is our commitment to open our hearts and change the feelings between us. I believe we can. All this time, we were great pathners. I think we can also be a couple who love each other. Want to, Din? Say, yeah!"
"Nothing but, we certainly can. Tomorrow we will tell you about our engagement to my mother and extended family. Then we'll go back to Indonesia to meet your parents, how?!"
Dinda pulled her hand from Wildy's. "Wil, slow down well, don't rush. We're going slowly."
Although somewhat disappointed to hear Dinda's answer but Wildy accepted Dinda's decision. In his heart he did know, he was too forcing Dinda to follow his decision. He forgot, Dinda's still hurt. It needs a process to heal Dinda's heart wounds.
"I'm willing to wait for you, Din," said Wildy in the end.
"But by the way why did you tell me to change my shirt?"
Dinda smiled shyly and misbehaved. "Sorry, Wil. Dinda is disgusted. The shirt is no longer worth wearing, because Dinda's snot sticks there a lot."
Wildy laughed. "I'm learning something new right now. And just calm down. How many, you're gonna throw my shirt away. I resigned and gave up my life, to you."
Dinda rolled her eyeballs hearing Wildy's chattering. "I'm hungry, let's have a hotdog, let's go" Dinda said as she prepared her stomach at this time.
"Come," greet Wildy while holding Dinda's hand.
Dinda refused to be taken by Wildy because it did not feel good coworkers and employees at the Wildy agency noticed them.
Wildy pulled Dinda's waist closer to him.
Dinda was shocked and did not expect Wildy's actions. He felt that his face must have been flushed with embarrassment.
"Don't be ashamed, honey, you have to get used to being the boss lady of this company."
"Slow Wil, slow down" whispered Dinda, trying to escape from Wildy's embrace.
Wildy releases Dinda, instead holding Dinda's hand and dipping her.
There was a sigh from the people around Dinda. Dinda was immediately shocked to see dozens of eyes now staring at them with jealousy.
Dinda took a deep breath. "Come on!" he said steadily. As if making his decision.
Wildy smiles triumphantly and takes Dinda into the elevator.
