"Listen well to women."
"Many men are ready to get married because they are able to support. However, not many are ready to guide the wife. So, when you choose, choose him who looks to be able to imitate. Because the husband is not just looking for sustenance. A husband, however, is the claimant of heaven to a wife."
"So for women, be more selective in choosing a partner, yes. Don't just because it's handsome and rich, we forget that the science of religion is more important."
After completing the study at Pesantren santriwati and closed the prayer as well as greetings, I quickly left the area because I felt uncomfortable. However, my steps had to be stopped because a woman in shar'i and niqob clothes covering my face approached me.
"Assalamualaikum, ustadz."
I looked back, from that voice I could hear if it was Farah's soul. I stepped back and gave more distance. "Vaalaikumsalam, ustadzah. What's up, huh?" I lowered my gaze and did not want to linger alone with Farah even in a public place. Besides being banned, I'm afraid that someone will report to ummi, so I can't give a reason to postpone marriage.
"Ustadz invited Abi to dinner at home."
I stared at Farah's eyes at a glance, I saw the girl smiling from her line of sight. "Yes. Kyai has already given the news. Excuse me, ustadzah. Assalamualaikum," said I then leave the boarding school santriwati. It was heard in the ears that many santriwati cheered to Farah.
The teaching schedule is complete. I rushed home first and then to my parents' house to tell Farah the message she had just delivered. But, I intend to deliver the message to Abi not to Ummi.
"Ummi you're studying with ummi Kalsum. What's up, son?"
Abi could always understand me when I was upset like this. I sat in the seat across from Abi and the wooden table between us.
"Farah came to me, Abi. Kyai Hasan invited me to dinner at his house," said I turned to look at Abi at a glance then stared straight at the yellowed rambutan fruit and some began to blush partly.
Abi took a long breath. "Forcing children to marry people they don't love is actually tyranny. How can a woman or man be happy when she has to be with someone she doesn't love? Because the main purpose of marriage is to bring happiness to both parties, between two married couples. Marriage is a sunnah of Prophet Muhammad SAW that must be followed by his followers, it is human nature to meet the spiritual needs of his body. Marriage also has ideals that are a particular place in human life because they contain bonds between two people who can lift their degrees. Forced marriage in Islam is illegal. Because it will cause harm to his spouse and family."
I heard Abi's words and digested the true meaning I already knew. However, if you are in this fear other than complaining to the Creator, I always share with Abi that my mind and heart be relieved.
Now, I am ready to answer and tell my decision to Kyai Hasan, Farah's father. Owner of Pesantren Cottage where I work.
