My Brother's Friend

My Brother's Friend
The legacy of Grandpa

The three of us have now reached home, we were escorted home by Kak Jo with his luxurious black car.

"Rest, Bang. I'll cook for lunch" I said leaving Bang Reza lying on his bed.

"You, cooking?" Bang Reza glanced at me with a look of disbelief. I can understand what Bang Reza is thinking.

Yes, naturally, indeed all this time I have never cooked a bit. Never mind cooking, boiling water only sometimes I forget until the pot I use becomes charred. And from that moment Bang Reza forbade me to interact with the kitchen and its surroundings.

I nodded, "Trust me, Bang. Just this once!" I then rushed out of the room leaving Bang Reza smiling at what I had just said.

"Don't empty the pot again, yes" he cried from the room, I can still hear it even though I'm in the kitchen.

I just smiled at her and had no intention of replying to her words.

"What are you doing?" ask Brother Jo who just came back from outside the house. He saw me who was now taking out two ingredients in the refrigerator and putting them on the dining room table.

All the ingredients are piled up there, if seen, then people will think if I was selling vegetables and not wanting to cook.

"I want to cook!" Answer me while sorting out the ingredients I will cook.

"You want to cook all this?" Continue Kak Jo while pointing towards the pile of vegetables. Brother Jo is standing across the table which is now full of vegetables.

"Some," I replied as long as I was still thinking about it

Ten minutes passed, me and Brother Jo were still silent around the table, I was still confused what to cook and Brother Jo also did not speak in the slightest.

"Why silence, or can you not cook?" he continued again, staring at me

I was silent, not answering. I'm ashamed to admit it.

"I can cook, no need to worry!" I answered and then picked the vegetables I was going to cook.

"Thank God, then I'll wait for the food to cook and I'll taste it" Jo then got up from her seat and went into Bang Reza's room.

"Ok" I answered confidently. I'm actually a little confused by all this. I did not know what to cook, because now in front of me there are potatoes, carrots and eggs.

With confidence, I tried to start cooking. Armed with the recipes I got from the internet, I also started cooking food for the first time.

I used to boil water in a small pot. While waiting for the water to boil, I then peel the potatoes and carrots and cut them to a small size, then wash them thoroughly.

After that, I then mix the eggs with salt in the bowl which I plan to make into an omelet.

"Dad, I want to say something" Syafa sat right next to his now serious-faced father while reading the morning newspaper

"Actually, I'm dating Reza, sorry Dad, I didn't mean to oppose you who didn't allow me to date while still in school" Shafa bowed as he said in a soft tone.

The father turned to him, "Not to be afraid, I will not scold you, after all you are dating Reza and no one else"

Syafa then raised his head and looked at his Father with an incredulous look, he had not expected that his Father would be this gentle.

He also did not think that his father did not scold him like last time when he was caught dating a classmate.

Indeed, his father forbade him to date before he graduated school and it was all just for his good and not for anything else.

The father just does not want, the princess just mismanaged and fell into unwanted things.

"I mean Dad?" ask Shafa again

"I like Reza and his family, they're not bad people and moreover they will definitely guarantee your life in the future"

Shafa looked at Father once more, and again he did not understand what his father was talking about.

"I know what you're thinking, surely you're going to think about why Dad said that. So look, listen carefully to everything you've told me" The father brought himself closer to the princess.

The father then told me if my family actually still has a lot of wealth and is still in the hands of my family's lawyer, who is still in the hands of my family, it's just that everything will be ours once one of us gets married.

It's all the legacy of our great-grandfather who died a long time ago, our parents haven't had time to tell us everything but they're dead and only a few trusted people know about it.

And the one who knows it is the father of Shafa. He was a good friend of my father and my mother.

"So they're actually rich?" Syafa made sure and his father nodded.

But in Syafa's heart there is still a little bit of disbelief, if my family is a rich family, but why did Bang Reza have to bother working part-time and I had to be confused looking for a loan just to operate Bang Reza.

"But you don't ever talk about this to them, it's a secret!" Shafa also nodded in understanding.

"But Father, why should such a thing be hidden, do their relatives feel no pity to see Kak Reza and Aulia who have to live all the shortcomings as they are today?"

"That's all done so they don't experience the same thing as both of their parents, there are many people out there who are after their wealth and for their safety then this should all be kept secret until the appointed time!" Obviously Syafa's father always again.

"Oh, so it seems. Alright, if this is all for their good then I will never say anything!"

"Smart son" The father smiled at his daughter's reaction

Finally they ended the conversation between the two of them that morning, because the mother who happened to be that morning was shopping at the market, Syafa then said goodbye to his father to go visit Bang Reza who had just returned from the hospital.

Syafa this time prefers to go to my house by riding his motorcycle. She also dressed up as beautiful as possible to meet the very adoration of the heart that had just returned home.

"We see who will win!" Said Syafa's father when Syafa had advanced his motorbike.

He put on a face that looks creepy while sipping coffee that is now cold.
